Here’s hoping!! 🤞🤞🤞 I’m 30, been ttc for 13 months, never had a bfp so really bloody hoping it’s our time!

Angelselevenx · 07/01/2024 09:22

Joining in!

Cycle 12, early MC on cycle 2, have my fertility referral appointment next month, not sure what they'll suggest as I've had all my tests done (normal), OH has had his SA (normal), I have regular 31 day cycles and O CD20 almost every month.

Hoping 2024 is our year! 🌈🤞🏼

MrBigsCat · 07/01/2024 14:36

Really want to see some bfps on here in the coming months 🤞🏻

@MrBigsCat @hopingforapeainapod where are you both in your current cycles?

hopingforapeainapod · 07/01/2024 16:21

@Angelselevenx I’m CD18! I decided to have a break from tracking so haven’t used OPKs or tracked my BBT this month but I reckon from other general symptoms I ovulated either day 12 or 13 (maybe 14) so I’m now in the dreaded TWW! How about you?

Angelselevenx · 07/01/2024 16:24

@hopingforapeainapod that's great, fingers crossed! When is AF due? I'm just coming off, normally would be CD8 but AF is slowing down and it's CD6. Not due to O until CD20 which is 20th January so I've got a while yet.

I've had some time off bbt too and now I keep forgetting to temp 😂

Wictc · 07/01/2024 16:29

I’m on day 3 so just starting to come off my period. Have been trying for just over a year now, it’s very depressing!!

hopingforapeainapod · 07/01/2024 17:04

@Angelselevenx I’m not 100% sure but I think af is due around the 19th of January! My cycle length varies a bit - shortest cycle I’ve ever had was actually last month (27 days) and the longest I’ve had is 34 days 🤷‍♀️ I and DH have also had all tests done and all normal so the whole thing is very frustrating!

Angelselevenx · 07/01/2024 17:13

@hopingforapeainapod it is frustrating isn't jt. I feel like everyone, bar me, is pregnant at the minute

Ah okay so around my O time, have your doctors referred you for help at all? I've been referred and got the first appt in February

hopingforapeainapod · 07/01/2024 18:39

@Angelselevenx tell me about it! 2 of my best friends and my sister in law got married this summer and are already pregnant 🤦‍♀️ I feel like everyone I know in person either got pregnant straightaway or needed like 5 rounds of IVF, and never anything in the middle!

I saw a doctor just before Xmas and it was a bit of a mixed experience. She basically said as all results are normal to just keep trying and come back later this year if / when we want to try IVF, which just feels like an enormous jump! I said I really wanted to try something before IVF and she said my options are Letrozole (which she wouldn’t necessarily recommend because all signs suggest I’m already ovulating) or IUI (which has very poor success rates for heterosexual couples). So not too sure what to do. Think we are going to give it another month or two of trying naturally and then give Letrozole a go.

Best of luck with your appointment 🤞

Angelselevenx · 07/01/2024 18:46

@hopingforapeainapod literally how I feel. Everyone seems to fall so quickly around me, bar bloody me 😂 I had the early MC in April last year so I know I can get pregnant and I find it frustrating as how did that happen on cycle 2 and literally nothing since. I do think I have low progesterone though, my LP is 11 days and I had it tested on CD20 (5 days after O) and it was 19, doctor said it was normal and confirmed O but it should be over 30 from research. Maybe we just didn't time the test right but I'm going to suggest it to my fertility doctor in feb.

Do you have your OH sperm results? We can compare notes so I can see if my OH needs to make any improvements 😂😂. I know what you mean about IVF, that's how I feel as it does feel like a big jump and for only TTC a year it seems like it's quite quick, albeit it feels like forever whilst your in the trying.

A friend of mine knows someone who works at the fertility clinic I'm going to and she said they'll try letrozole on me as it has progesterone in, so I think I'll give that a go if they allow me to.

It's nice to chat to someone at a similar timeframe to me! X

riverlodge90 · 07/01/2024 19:27

Joining 🥰 This is cycle 9 for us.
I'm 30 OH 35
TTC #1
Had a drs appointment last week about my thyroid, ordered day 3 and 21 day bloods too. Has the day 3 on Friday and awaiting results. If anyone has subclinical hypothyroidism any tips?

@Angelselevenx Curious did you get offered hycosy or scan?

NSCat · 07/01/2024 19:45

Hello!

Good luck to everyone!

Cycle 16...ttc no1. Currently CD 12.

Got a feeling about this year...but then I have a feeling every other month 😂.

Angelselevenx · 07/01/2024 19:47

@riverlodge90 I haven't been offered anything yet as my appointment with the clinic isn't until end of feb but I called up the other day and they said they'd scan me on my first appointment, assuming that's an internal scan to check ovaries/uterus. I'm going to ask for a hycosy though just cause why not, may as well have a clean out if I can 😂

hopingforapeainapod · 07/01/2024 19:54

@Angelselevenx I’m really sorry to hear about your miscarriage. Our bodies are so strange! I have never had a glimmer of a bfp so I’m worried our problem might be fertilisation / implantation, although the doctor said I had a ‘textbook uterus’ (!)

My progesterone test was also a bit confusing. Had it done on day 21 but I don’t think I actually ovulated that cycle until day 18/19. Result was 25.3 and I have also read online above 30 is optimal but I assume as I did the test ‘early’ that result is fine. I do however almost always spot before my period so I do sometimes wonder if I have a problem with my progesterone, although the doctor dismissed the idea…

Haha my DH’s semen analysis was fine but not amazing. Overall count was good, motility was okay (think about 42% from memory) and morphology was borderline (5%). Again, doctor didn’t think it would be a problem.

I would definitely push for a Hycosy if you can. I had one in December and although it wasn’t the most pleasant procedure I’ve heard it can give you a little fertility ‘boost’ as it can clear things out down there - read lots of stories on MN about women getting their bfp 1-3 months after their Hycosy!

@riverlodge90 @NSCat welcome to the club! It’s nice to find people in the same boat!

Bebebaba · 07/01/2024 19:58

Hi ladies! 22, 4th cycle CD9. Could be 3rd cycle as first one might not count, we weren’t tracking and I think missed the right window. Baby dust to all!

Angelselevenx · 07/01/2024 16:11

@MrBigsCat @hopingforapeainapod where are you both in your current cycles?

I’m 3dpo today, af due 18th January

this is actually baby #4 for me but new partner
my first took 3 years!! with unexplained infertility

my 2nd and 3rd were both less than 6 months so I’ve no idea what to expect this time.

I've already had 2 chemicals in cycle 3 and 4 so know I can conceive with new partner, just need a quality egg I think

Let's hope 2024 is a good year all round! I'm on cycle 6 since my MMC in July (which took 6 months to conceive). Also had a previous MMC in 2019 with my ex partner that took 2.5 years to conceive.

The dream would be to have a 2024 baby but I'll take it if I'm even pregnant in 2024 at this rate! Similar to a lot of people here it seems, everyone around me seems to get pregnant quickly and most people haven't had any losses so it's hard being the one plugging away month after month trying not to get too disheartened.

With my sister in law trying for their second soon, and my boyfriend's sister starting to try for their first, it can't help but feel like a bit of a race which isn't ideal! 🙈

riverlodge90 · 07/01/2024 22:13

@Angelselevenx

Ahh that's interesting! I didn't know whether the GP referred for that but makes complete sense it's at the fertility appointment.
Defo report back on how that goes!
Hahah I will be the exact same, might as bloody well give it a good spring clean! can't do any harm🙃😂

hopingforapeainapod · 07/01/2024 23:19

@MrBigsCat gosh 3 years is a long time! Did you conceive your first child naturally? And did you ever get to the bottom of your unexplained infertility?

Angelselevenx · 08/01/2024 06:59

@hopingforapeainapod thank you. You find a lot of people go from never having a BFP to having a perfect pregnancy so try not to think that, but I know exactly what you mean.

Ah okay that's interesting! I spot before my period too so I'm definitely bringing this up at the clinic, I also have trouble sleeping which is another symptom of low progesterone. It's hard to time the test right isn't it, mine was just below yours but mine was 5DPO so it does make me think mines low too.

Doctors said my OH was normal too, fairly high count, motility was 62% (with rapid and slow progression, think rapid was 41% alone) and morphology was 3% which is just under the ideal of 4% but with a high count they weren't too bothered, I've now prescribed him vitamins though 😂

Yes definitely! That's good to know, did your clinic do it for you as normal procedure or did you ask? Fingers crossed following that, you get your BFP 🤞🏼 are you cycle 1 or 2 since the hycosy?

@riverlodge90 of course, will report back after the appt! 6 weeks to go 😂

Yes ended up conceiving naturally, I don’t know what it was! But with the others it was like my body knew what it was to do.
