It's so hard when basically the pressure is on them to finish for us to conceive! We tried DTD on the day of ovulation and he just couldn't finish. We did it the day before and the day before that though so hoping that's enough. I think the clinicalness of just doing it whenever you can especially with having a 21 month old who could wake any moment, doesn't help. I suppose trying to keep it as nice and romantic as possible? I'm not sure as it's not been very long we've been trying.

Hannah156 · 19/01/2024 06:21

I do know that they say that the LH levels have to be above one for ovulation to happen, so 0.74 wouldn't be high enough. But sperm can live inside you for 2-5 days and your LH can rise very suddenly so couldn't say! How long is your cycle normally?

We have been trying since February 2023 so almost a year. In the beginning it was fun but like you say, it has become almost clinical. We desperately want a sibling for DD who just turned 5 at the weekend. Sometimes DH just isn't in the mood at all. We have been trying to make it more romantic, sensual massage and make out sessions and stuff. Just to stop it feeling so clinical.

I think am going to try to hold out til Sunday to test 😂😂 not that long. I really don’t think it’s worked, I don’t actually feel much different unless I try to convince myself! I can’t remember what i felt like with my son but I sort of knew?! And I tested early then too… first few days was negative then the BFP came gradually!

Ohh skiing will be a good distraction for sure!

Yeah it does feel very clinical - few days of lots of action and I’m now enjoying no action!!!

Heyy 👋
Not TTC however OH didn’t pull out when DTD sat eve (13th) - no idea when ovulated but I know Monday I had bloods done and LH was 0.74 - no idea if that’s high or low or means ovulation ?? Anyways - since Tuesday I’ve had mild cramping, headache last night, mild back ache, twinges and tugs in pelvic region and constipation (all things I get right before AF due) - I’m on CD17/18. I’m going to test next Friday anyways but honestly what do yous think? Could I be pregnant?

I guess the short answer is, if you've had unprotected sex around mid-cycle then you could be. However, in terms of symptoms etc, it's highly unlikely you'd be getting symptoms at 3dpo. You would implant at 6dpo at the earliest. I think when you've had unprotected sex you go into hyper-alert to every little thing. Hope things turn out how you want!

Mum37of4 · 19/01/2024 08:07

@Hannah156 - cycles usually 29/29 days so I know ovulation would have been probs anywhere from around end of last week to start this week but my cm has changed from sticky stretchy over weekend, now it’s creamy but like glue.

Mum37of4 · 19/01/2024 08:08

@SnookyPook - i actually thought the symptoms probs more likely to be ovulation tbh.

RoseH36 · 19/01/2024 08:27

I'm about 8/9 DPO and have had cramping on and off the last couple of days and feel tired and irritable. Not reading anything into it as sure I've felt like this before and it's been nothing. AF due next Thursday so figured Sunday is the absolute earliest I can test.

Going back to due dates, I'm hoping for a success in these first 3 months otherwise we'll be into another new year before its due.

If we're not successful this month I'm still in two minds whether to get DH sperm tested or not. Part of me things will it make any difference and £200 is a lot of money.

Def wise to get his sperm tested

I was guna get my.partners tested last year but then we conceived second cycle trying but then early miscarriage

worldwidetravel2017 · 19/01/2024 09:21

Latest on going health news with me - i have to have an ecg of my heart this month

Mum37of4 · 19/01/2024 09:36

So I misread my blood results from Monday. Progesterone was 0.74, LH was 10.3 and FSH was 5.1 - so OP could have been anywhere from Monday tbh… but then I’m absolutely no expert lol

Hannah156 · 19/01/2024 10:34

If LH was 10.3 then that's likely your surge

Mum37of4 · 19/01/2024 10:44

@Hannah156 - yup that’s what think - and we DTD 13th (Sat eve) so the chances of conception where fairly high. NGL im kinda scared and nervous because im still completing my foundation degree at Uni and was hoping to complete my bachelors in Sept … if im pregnant this won’t be happening 🤦‍♀️😐But having said that, it won’t be the end of the world and I love being pregnant lol

The exact number varies depending on the study, but I’ve seen research which shows you have around a 27% chance on conceiving by dtd 3 days before ovulation, so there is definitively a chance, although stronger odds that you’re not (but that’s always true statistically!).

Mum37of4 · 19/01/2024 13:37

@Applesandcake - ohh that’s interesting 🧐- well I guess only time will tell now 😊

Hannah156 · 19/01/2024 16:31

Fingers crossed you get the result you want ❤️

I've had so many symptoms this week and today especially (6dpo). Cramping everyday for the last 3 days and lots of cm. Trying so hard not to get my hopes up as I know a few of you have had these symptoms and still had a bfn but it's hard not to read into it, especially since I've had such consistent cramping.

Bumblebee413 · 19/01/2024 20:42

I’m doing it. I’m testing tomorrow morning pre airport. I’ll be 10 DPO and 4 days pre AF, but I figure it’s worth a shot and means I can drink worry free.

Mrsspoon3 · 19/01/2024 21:54

Thanks @JC084 and @SnookyPook 💗
Having the surgery on Monday. Feeling really scared and heartbroken 😢
Hope everyone else is doing ok x

Mum37of4 · 19/01/2024 23:26

@Mrsspoon3 - sorry to hear :( I hope the surgery goes smoothly even under the circumstances. I’ve had D&C in 2019 at 10wks 😭 sending you love and support xx

Bumblebee413 · 19/01/2024 23:59

@Mrsspoon3 I hope it goes smoothly for you. Well done for making such a tough decision. There’s positives in it being more predictable time wise than medical but obviously incredibly difficult either way.

Have you got a good support network and time off work to grieve and recover? I know it’s all extra difficult with a little one around x

Hannah156 · 20/01/2024 07:02

@Bumblebee413 everything crossed for you, and hopefully you can relax and enjoy your hol either way (as you say, enjoy a drink if not).
@Mrsspoon3 sending you all the love and courage, give yourself the time and space to grieve and look after yourself (hopefully others do too). X

Sometimes it shows from 12 / 13 dpo

jellyfish2210 · 20/01/2024 08:44

Last cycle was 14 dpo before I tested positive but I have a 30-32 day cycle.

jellyfish2210 · 20/01/2024 08:45

Just to clarify, it didn't stick 😔

Bumblebee413 · 20/01/2024 09:45

Guys. I’m taking a little bean skiing!
