Anyone ttc in 2024 after loss?

Lost my perfect little baby at the end of October. I was 15 weeks, baby was gone since 13 weeks. Planning to start ttc again in January. I am devastated and finding it hard to cope. Also extremely nervous about being pregnant again. Yet the need to have a living baby in my arms, outweighs the crippling fear. This little baby was my first too.

@NphysT sorry for your loss. It’s such a rollercoaster…

@mamataylor I’ve never heard of this before but going to give it a go too this month and am at the same point in my cycle as you… 🤞🏼for everyone.

Has everyone stopped drinking alcohol? I have a few big events planned this month (hen party, brunch and a friend’s big birthday) and wondering if I should stop drinking again or enjoy myself and just think what will be will be… not that I won’t enjoy myself if I don’t drink, but i would prefer it if I could just have a few socially because then I don’t feel like I have missed out quite as much if it’s another unsuccessful month - as in I don’t feel like I’ve made a big sacrifice so the disappointment feels a little less prominent if that makes sense?

mamataylor · 01/02/2024 19:24

@Retailchick neither had I until someone else suggested it on another thread! Fingers crossed for us both. Keep me posted ☺️

I definitely think you should have a couple if it’s something you do socially normally! I’m trying to not let this TTC journey consume every part of my life right now 🙈 it’s hard I know but definitely try and enjoy yourself as you have some lovely events planned by the sounds of it!

9 dpo and BFN 😢 I think that's me out this cycle and honestly devastated I really thought we'd catch this month 😢

mamataylor · 02/02/2024 16:58

@Bey 9dpo is still sooooo early! You’re not out until af arrives so don’t lose hope yet! I never tested with both my pregnancies until af was late. When are you due? X

Due on the 8th so 6 days early which is what the early detection test says. I know you're right I just want this so desperately (as we all do) that I can't stop testing I know I'm being stupid but it's like a compulsion

mamataylor · 02/02/2024 20:30

@Bey You’re absolutely not being stupid! It’s hard to not let ttc consume you, especially when you’re nearing when your period would be due. There’s still time to get a positive test. Keeping everything crossed for you x

Bey · 02/02/2024 20:32

Thank you @mamataylor so kind of you xx

Just starting my TWW. Easy@home and clearblue both confirmed LH surge cd 12.but I didn't have ewcm which I normally have so unsure...maybe it's different post miscarriage 🤷

Chaz693 · 03/02/2024 14:28

Those that have used easy at home tests. I had to take a pregnancy test yesterday to confirm that I had no more hcg in my body after my miscarriage. I took it and I don't know if I have line eyes but I still feel like there's a very faint line but no colour. Do these test always have a line? Just want to be aware of it for when we actually start trying my next cycle.

Just want to know if I'm going crazy or not lol!

Gracie1825 · 03/02/2024 15:11

@Chaz693 have you another one and maybe test with water and compare?

Chaz693 · 03/02/2024 15:12

@Gracie1825 oh that's a good idea! I'll do that thank you! X

How's everyone doing?? I've had a couple of weeks off MN, was finding it all a bit difficult. Feel like I'm in a slightly better head space atm. I'm now 7dpo in cycle 2 since latest loss. Planning to start testing over the weekend, AF due next Tuesday. I don't know why but I just looked up due date if I get a bfp and it's my grandma's birthday. I lost my grandma last year a few days before my wedding. I really hope the universe feels like throwing me a bone this month so I can feel like it's all about the stars aligning (the things we tell ourselves, hey)! Sending baby dust and hoping those with BFPs are doing ok!

moosey89 · 13/02/2024 16:00

@Hopingrae fingers crossed for you! I'm in fertile week - incidentally talking about the stars aligning thing it would be great if I got pregnant this month as it would be likely I either got pregnant on my birthday or on the due date of my most recent loss. I don't hold out much hope as this is cycle 7 now of trying again, but you never know.

mamataylor · 13/02/2024 16:32

@Hopingrae i have everything crossed that this is your month 🤞 i’m 5dpo! Going to try and not symptom spot this month as i did last month and was gutted when AF arrived x

Hopingrae · 13/02/2024 17:11

@moosey89 I was wondering how you've been getting on. Wishing you all the luck with this cycle. You're right, you never know. I hope the stars align for us both!

@mamataylor aw you're only a couple of days behind me. I've tried to do the same, other than ovulation I've not tracked anything this month and it's really helped lessen the focus on TTC. Also stopped scrolling through endless MN posts and stories which has also helped! 😂 It's still there in the background, but not so at the forefront.
I've had some quite strong period type pains today randomly, I've not been symptom spotting but they've been pretty noticeable. Who knows, could just be wind or something. Hehe

mamataylor · 13/02/2024 19:30

@Hopingrae i’m terrible for reading through threads on MN too. I remember doing it with my first baby. I’m so bad but I can’t help it!! I’m currently watching Grey’s Anatomy which is doing a good job at keeping me busy 😂

ooo, sounds positive! Keep us posted on how you get on over the next week and I’ll do the same ☺️

Hopingrae · 13/02/2024 19:50

@mamataylor oh my goodness, I LOVE Greys Anatomy! I only started watching it towards end of last year and I'm already nearly through series 11 😂
Oh I totally did that too with all my previous pregnancies, I'm trying to turn over a new leaf! It won't last 😂

mamataylor · 13/02/2024 19:58

@Hopingrae haha no way! I’m confident I could be a surgeon now 🤣 I’m on season 10 so not far behind you!
we can only try our best can’t we! 😂

9dpo...is this a vvfl??! It appeared within 3 mins and there's a little bit of colour in real life. I'm heading off to meet DH soon (he's at the dentist), we're going out for a fancy lunch that was a Christmas gift. I don't know what to do with myself. Deep breaths and one minute at a time...

mamataylor · 15/02/2024 17:15

@Hopingrae i can definitely see a verryyyyy faint line 🥰 I have everything crossed for you!!! Keep me posted on whether you test again! Do you have any symptoms? X

Yes I see something
I hope you celebrated at lunch! ☺️

Hopingrae · 15/02/2024 18:23

@mamataylor i will! I stupidly did a clear blue digital midway through the day which was negative, but not surprising! Seemed like a good idea at the time!
I tested earlier than planned, so will try and hold out until Saturday when I'm 11dpo as doubt if see much progression tomorrow if there is any. I'll no doubt test again tomorrow and wish I hadn't.
I'll keep you updated! When are you planning to test?

Hopingrae · 15/02/2024 19:15

@123456789ss I did, we tentatively toasted to positive things with a lovely non alcoholic cocktail! How are you getting on?
This is (potentially) my 5th pregnancy and we're so lucky to have a beautiful DS already. I feel fortunate to be able to conceive, just want a sticky bean this time. Will just see what the next few days and weeks bring and keep everything that is crossable crossed.

Hopingrae · 15/02/2024 19:19

@mamataylor symptom wise the only thing is a scratchy crampy feeling in my lower tummy, which I recognise from previous pregnancies. I've had it for a couple of days but didn't want to read too much into it! I've also had a bit of a shooting feeling in my nipples, also experienced that before in pregnancies. So really hoping they're all good signs. I know it doesn't predict the outcome though. Only time will tell with that 🙏

mamataylor · 15/02/2024 23:14

@Hopingrae how exciting!!! It all sounds so positive! I’m due AF next Friday so maybe then? Last month I tested at both 11dpo & 13dpo and AF arrived at 15dpo so I’m going to try and wait until she’s due before I test… famous last words 😂
