I'm currently TTC following a miscarriage at 12 weeks on 5th August. I haven't had a period yet but we decided not to wait, as I'm desperate to be pregnant again and I think that is the only thing that will make me feel better about the loss. I have been tracking ovulation and did catch my peak so now just hoping I've got the timing of DTD right.

Just wondering if anyone out there TTC is around the same time in their cycle so that we can chat to each other really. I think I'm already driving my husband mad, it would be nice to speak to other people who really understand how I'm feeling! 😊

@Kewchoc A chemical can only happen if the egg has implanted. If the egg doesn’t implant there is no signs of pregnancy and hcg doesn’t rise. You only start getting positive tests once the egg has been implanted for a couple of days. It’s actually the placenta that triggers hcg production.

tlw14 · 03/11/2023 11:26

@Kewchoc I know they base it off LMP so it will be the week between christmas and new year which would be nice.

I've just spoke with my GP, she is going to ring EPAU next week and see if they will book me in for a scan at 6 weeks just to make sure all is ok because of my previous loss. If they don't i will book a private one though for sure.

With my little boy i booked a scan at 6 weeks and again at 9 weeks just to be sure all was ok. I didn't have any reason for concern then either but found them really reassuring as i was constantly googling and panicking! I don't think you ever really relax until you can feel them bouncing around in there!

Kewchoc · 03/11/2023 12:21

@tlw14 I see.. hopefully if they're working reduced hours over that week they might try and get you booked in before Christmas. Fingers crossed!

That's good re the doctor contacting EPAU. Hopefully you will hear something soon. I had 2 private scans in my last pregnancy and they did find a heartbeat the second time but the baby was measuring 2 weeks behind both times, which is another thing that made me think something was wrong. With my son I was measuring ahead at my early scans, so it was quite a contrast! I think I was about 7 weeks with that one. If the baby is measuring so far behind at my early scan this time I think it will really set my anxiety off to be honest

OP posts:
Amberellalina · 03/11/2023 12:36

That’s what happened to me @Kewchoc - measuring two weeks behind at a private ‘reassurance’ scan, though they did see a heartbeat. Baby hadn’t then grown by the follow up a week later, so I was pretty sure it was curtains at that point.

If I get that far this time I’m doing private scans at 6 and 8 weeks - and going to a different scan clinic than the one where it all went wrong last time…

Kewchoc · 03/11/2023 13:28

@Amberellalina I don't know if this is even a thing, but I felt like it was really a "weak" pregnancy all along, did you?... every pregnancy test I did was faint, I never ever got a dark positive or a dye stealer, (my tests from this morning are literally darker than any test I got after my missed period last time) then the scans/measuring so far behind, I knew it was impossible for me to have conceived two weeks earlier than I thought. To be honest I'm surprised I even got to 12 weeks, my scans were at 6 and 7 weeks (I think). I'm the same as you though, definitely going to a different scan clinic this time around, even though I know the loss was nothing to do with the clinic. I'm planning on going to the same place I had my private scan with ds, which will be nice 😊

Amberellalina · 03/11/2023 13:49

I actually do know what you mean. I got weak tests at first as well and I got the same result on the weeks indicator one 8 days apart. It also took a couple of weeks for symptoms to start so I was on my guard from the off. It did all get going eventually, but ‘weaker’ is a good word for it.

So far so good with this one, feeling a bit ick already and line progression looking promising. Still early though.

Kewchoc · 03/11/2023 14:15

@Amberellalina There must be something to it then. Let's hope our lines keep getting darker and darker this time 😊 I have also been feeling ick, certainly felt nauseous for a while when I got up this morning so I'm thankful I can work from home if I need to. Have you had any other symptoms appearing? I've been trying to remember when my symptoms really kicked in with my other pregnancies but I just can't think

Congrats @Kewchoc and @Amberellalina , very pleased that you’ve got your positives xxx

Kewchoc · 04/11/2023 10:34

@HashB Thank you! How are you doing?

OP posts:
Amberellalina · 04/11/2023 13:25

Oh hi @HashB! How are you doing? All still Ok?

Kewchoc · 04/11/2023 17:25

I suppose this is actually a good thing in theory, as it would be considered a new symptom.. but I'm so bloody emotional this afternoon. Took ds to an imaginative play village this afternoon and a (much older) boy pushed him then stood squeezing my little boys hand until he let go of the toy. I told the little boy he was a little shit and to fuck off that we don't do that and it wasn't very nice. Usually that would be the end of it but today I've spent the rest of the afternoon going down an emotional spiral of how I won't always be there to protect ds from other shitty kids and crying about it. For reference, I usually cry about once a year (unless I'm pregnant 🤣) oh the joys of pregnancy hormones!

Morning, how's everyone doing?

@Kewchoc nearly spit out my coffee reading that 😂 the emotional rollercoaster is rough, but you're right, it's nice to have a new symptom!

So took a FRER test this morning (11DPO) which I think is showing a faint line 😬. Have been spotting brown (sorry TMI!) since 9DPO so terrified of this ending in another chemical. If my lines progress and the spotting continues I'm going to go see my GP to see if they can prescribe progesterone. In the meantime though just trying to keep a level head about everything and hope this one's a sticky bean🤞🏼

Kewchoc · 05/11/2023 07:53

@Liz2681 Ooooh thats definitely a line! I think that line is really clear for 11dpo! Tentative congratulations 💐 I understand your worry and it's really hard, but fingers crossed this time works out for you 🤞🏼 are you going to do a digital test in a few days?

I'm knackered this morning, just kept waking up last night and couldn't get back to sleep. Not sure whether it's pregnancy related or just a coincidence, it's hard not to connect everything isn't it!

OP posts:
Liz2681 · 05/11/2023 08:16

@Kewchoc thank you 😊! Yup, planning on doing a digital test at 14 DPO and monitoring line progression for the next few days with the easy@home tests. Tried to find more FRERs on Amazon but they don't appear to be back in stock!

Yes it's tough figuring out what's pregnancy related and what isn't! Like you, I've been struggling to sleep over the last couple of days which is unusual for me, but don't know if it's just because we had a lot on this week. My BBT has also been really high so that might be pregnancy but also because my sleep's been so erratic 🫤.

Kewchoc · 05/11/2023 09:46

@Liz2681 that's exactly the same as what I'm doing haha. I wasn't planning on using easy@home again as I had a bad experience with them last cycle, but now that I know I'm definitely pregnant I think they're ok for line progression purposes! Have you told your partner yet? I got a super faint positive at 9dpo and was planning on keeping it quiet until I got a strong positive, but I can't keep anything to myself so he knew about 10 minutes after I'd done the test 🤣

Yeah you're so right. Have you had any other physical symptoms? I had horrendous nausea last time and to be honest I'm really hoping I don't get it again this time!

Amberellalina · 05/11/2023 10:01

Morning all!

@Liz2681 that definitely looks like a line to me! Tentative congratulations - I really hope your spotting is just implantation and that everything works out. Tommy’s have a printout that you can take to your GP that helps to get progesterone prescribed if you need it x

We’re on the way home after a tiring weekend. I did a CB weeks indicator this morning (14 dpo) and got 1-2 weeks, it was nice to see the word ‘pregnant’ ☺️

Gonna do an easy@home tomorrow to check line progression. New symptoms here include constantly needing to pee!

Kewchoc · 05/11/2023 10:30

@Amberellalina Have you had a nice time? Ahh one of the more annoying symptoms haha! But exciting that you're getting new ones, hcg is obviously rising 😊 I'm also going to do a weeks indicator during the week but im going to wait a couple of days so that i hopefully get 2-3 weeks.

This is my line progression since Friday (Friday am, Saturday am, Saturday pm and the bottom one is this morning) I know they're getting darker but I'm a bit concerned that this mornings is still quite light for 13dpo

1DPO... any cycle buddies out there?
OP posts:
Amberellalina · 05/11/2023 10:49

@Kewchoc that looks fine to me - if you chuck away yesterday’s then today looks twice as dark as Friday - which is consistent with hcg doubling in 48 hours x

Kewchoc · 05/11/2023 10:57

@Amberellalina I know you're right but I think I was expecting the test like to be as dark as the control line by now

OP posts:
Liz2681 · 05/11/2023 11:17

@Amberellalina ah that's great to know, thank you! Will definitely be taking that with me if I need to see the GP.

@Kewchoc that's great line progression! During my last pregnancy when I got to 13 DPO they were nowhere near that dark with those tests. I was lurking around online and a lot of people didn't seem to get their dye stealers until around 16-18 DPO so I wouldn't worry (although appreciate that's impossible when you're in our position!).

I've told my partner - to be fair he's been stressing about the TWW almost as much as I have, so when he asked me this morning if I'd taken a test I couldn't say no! 😅

In terms of symptoms, I'm getting bouts of mild nausea which seem to get worse when I'm in the car (oh joy!). Also woke up with a mad headache this morning which I'm hoping goes away soon. This already feels so much different to last time so im hoping that's a good sign!

tlw14 · 05/11/2023 13:10

@Kewchoc @Amberellalina my test from
this morning.. I’m around 16/17dpo today.
something about seeing the line so clearly which just makes you feel better!
I haven’t really had any symptoms though yet

1DPO... any cycle buddies out there?
Kewchoc · 05/11/2023 13:22

@Liz2681 Oh really? I'm going to be resting up until then and will be doing the digital around that point too so hopefully will feel more confident then! That's very cute about your partner haha I bet he was over the moon when you told him! Oh yes it's all sounding very promising isn't it!

@tlw14 Oh that's a really strong line! Don't worry about symptoms, I've not had many symptoms either. When I was pregnant with my son I literally didn't have a single symptom all the way through pregnancy!

OP posts:
Agathapoirot · 05/11/2023 14:13

@Kewchoc my easy at home took a while to get to the control line darkness, way past 14 dpo. I was 14 dpo on cycle day 1 on the tests pictured, hope that puts your mind at rest a little!

Just had my scan, was absolutely petrified, but measuring bang on for dates and saw a heartbeat.

Amberellalina · 05/11/2023 14:52

Awwwww, that’s amazing @Agathapoirot. So pleased for you x

Kewchoc · 05/11/2023 15:37

@Agathapoirot Thank you, that has actually made me feel better 😊

That's amazing news about your scan 😊 how lovely! How many weeks are you now?
