I'm currently TTC following a miscarriage at 12 weeks on 5th August. I haven't had a period yet but we decided not to wait, as I'm desperate to be pregnant again and I think that is the only thing that will make me feel better about the loss. I have been tracking ovulation and did catch my peak so now just hoping I've got the timing of DTD right.

Just wondering if anyone out there TTC is around the same time in their cycle so that we can chat to each other really. I think I'm already driving my husband mad, it would be nice to speak to other people who really understand how I'm feeling! 😊

Tentative congratulations @tlw14! If you had a negative test before then this probably is a new pregnancy. Fingers crossed you test again tomorrow/day after and it confirms it.

@Kewchoc yes and no, I’m unusually tired - but have recently given up caffeine, I’m feeling a bit sick - but have recently stopped a course of strong probiotics and my boobs are a bit tingly - but they do often get caught in some of DDs more aggressive hugs. So symptoms, but all explainable by other things! I’m obviously also wondering if ovulating early meant a good egg this month - basically just reading too much into everything 😂

Glad DS is better - nuts how fast they bounce back! Are you going on your date day after all?

@emmatcc1 ooh, interesting. Are you going to test tomorrow? I think I’ll hold out until Weds now I’ve satisfied the urge slightly…

tlw14 · 30/10/2023 09:59

@Amberellalina Thank you! we cant help being too cautious can we.. would rather not be disappointed so will wait and see.

TTC is one of the most stressful things i think i have ever done. All this tracking and symptom spotting drives you mad. I started doing pregnancy tests at like 3dpo i am not even sure what i was expecting from this haha!

emmatcc1 · 30/10/2023 10:09

@Amberellalina I want to wait until af due which is on Saturday but I most likely won’t be able to resist and do a test at 11-12 dpo. Even though I really wanna do a test right now and with all these potential symptoms I’m still pretty sure it didn’t work this month.

Kewchoc · 30/10/2023 11:51

@tlw14 Congratulations! Sorry, looks like we posted at similar times this morning and I hadn't seen your message when I posted, didn't mean to ignore you! I second what others have said, if you've been getting negative tests before this then I would feel pretty confident that it's a new pregnancy 😊 I have seen a lot of people on Mumsnet who have sworn by being more fertile after a miscarriage and gone on to have successful pregnancies straight away.

@Amberellalina well they all sound like positive symptoms to me! Are you going to test again tomorrow? Also I know how you feel regarding aggressive hugs on boobs - not great 🤣 we are kind of, we were going to go to York for the day but decided to just stay local incase we do need to get back to ds. I do feel quite emotional today but trying not to go down the "is it a symptom" route and remind myself it's likely just from stress

Amberellalina · 30/10/2023 13:00

@Kewchoc I wasn't going to until you suggested it but I do have one more onestep strip left so I might! I loooooove York. We used to live there and I'd move back in a heartbeat. DH not so much - it gets very busy, especially at the weekend - and he doesn't like people 😂

Kewchoc · 30/10/2023 14:21

@Amberellalina Hahaha oops, sorry 🤣 if it makes you feel better, we've just come for a Costa which is across the road from Boots so I've already decided I'm going to buy some early response tests from there and test tomorrow morning at 8DPO ha!
Yeah I love York too, it's just lovely, particularly in the run up to Christmas! Don't blame your DH though, I'm also not much of a people person so I understand how he feels 🤣

OP posts:
Kewchoc · 30/10/2023 15:13

Well I bought 5 tests so I will no doubt be jumping on the early testing train as soon as I get home... so much for waiting til my period was due this month 🤣

OP posts:
tlw14 · 30/10/2023 15:14

@Kewchoc keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Kewchoc · 30/10/2023 15:17

@tlw14 Haha thanks, I'm only 7DPO and we didn't time DTD very well this month so I'm pretty confident I'm out but I think I've reached the point in the TWW of desperately needing to know either way. How are you feeling? Have you done anymore tests?

OP posts:
tlw14 · 30/10/2023 15:28

@Kewchoc they always say it happens when you least expect it so you never know.
Errrm i had a cold last week, for like 24/36 hours, i wouldn't say ive had sore breasts but i can feel an ache i guess.
I am going to do another test tomorrow on a normal clearblue which isn't an early detection one and see what that says. Just so so anxious that i will have another miscarriage, don't know how i am going to stop myself from testing every day haha

emmatcc1 · 30/10/2023 16:23

@tlw14 this must be a new pregnancy and I’m sure this time it will be all good. How long have you been trying for? I’m also 10 dpo tomorrow and tempted to test but I only have the onestep tests which apparently hardly pick up any hcg.

Amberellalina · 30/10/2023 16:28

Well that's interesting to know @emmatcc1 do you mean the 'early detection' ones? That's the one I did this morning because it said it was sensitive to 10mlu (or whatever the unit is)... I got them free so haven't researched them...

emmatcc1 · 30/10/2023 16:43

@Amberellalina I think all onestep are kind of bad at early detection. I have the ones that are thin and the handle is dark blue with hcg written on it. I’ve read lots on them picking up hcg late even if they’re 10mlu. Can’t tell from personal experience as I’ve never had a positive.

Kewchoc · 30/10/2023 16:55

@tlw14 Sounds like a good plan. I can totally understand why you're anxious but just try and think... worrying about something doesn't change the fact that today you are pregnant 😊 I know it's not particularly helpful advice! But at present, you are pregnant and have no physical concern to think otherwise. I will be keeping everything crossed for you!

Well I'm an idiot and bought the wrong tests from Boots, not even early detection so obviously BFN. I have officially entered TWW insanity mode though as I've now sent my husband out to buy the right tests just to satisfy my urges PROPERLY hahaaaa

Liz2681 · 30/10/2023 17:45

@tlw14 tentative congrats! Appreciate its still so early, so keeping everything crossed for your test tomorrow 🤞🏼

Good luck to everyone else also about to test! I'm a bit behind at 5DPO but already counting down the days. Going to try to hold out until Sunday (11DPO) but I suspect I'll probably cave at 8DPO! @Amberellalina I'm a bit like you though, want to try to save my FRERs/Clearblues until I'm 11-12 DPO but let's face it, the cheapies probably won't pick up anything any earlier anyway 😬

tlw14 · 30/10/2023 19:36

@emmatcc1 i am hoping so.. part of this ttc journey just makes you question and doubt everything. We’ve only been trying for two months, had a miscarriage four weeks ago so feels too good to be true! It’s difficult, I felt I should test early as I kept seeing people get positives at 8/9dpo but I when I did and they were negative I felt really deflated. I would have waited but jsut didn’t have the patience.

@Kewchoc your right, the doctor said the same as well before with my previous miscarriage. A pregnant result means pregnant. Just worrying times.

@Liz2681 thank you! I will keep testing until the shops run out of tests I think haha!

Kewchoc · 30/10/2023 20:57

I definitely have lower back ache and have done so for the past few hours, my boobs also felt heavy when I took my bra off... trying incredibly hard not to read into it too much as both could be caused by AF gearing up but it's really set off that "maybe it's happened this month" part of my brain. I guess it's a few more days of being mental before I know any more though!

OP posts:
emmatcc1 · 30/10/2023 22:08

I can’t resist and will be testing tomorrow morning.

Amberellalina · 31/10/2023 05:38

So, I did an easy@home this morning (well, middle of the night - DD got me up at 4:15!) and I think maybe I see a hint of a squinter. Probably just wishful thinking or evap (I definitely left it longer than ten mins because we got back in bed for a sleepy cuddle) but it’s enough to make me think that if there is something then it might show up on the FRER tomorrow ☺️ need to keep telling myself not to get my hopes up…

Kewchoc · 31/10/2023 07:04

@Amberellalina This is exciting! I have a very good feeling about this month for you! Very excited to hear what happens with your frer 😊 I also caved and have ordered some easy@home despite saying I wouldn't use them again ha... literally none of the shops near us have any early detection tests so I've decided to get them and give them another go with them being 10miu

OP posts:
tlw14 · 31/10/2023 08:51

@Amberellalina ahhhhh so exciting!! i really really hope this is your positive.

@Kewchoc Thats what i used the CB early detection ones, they are pricey but there is something about a digital test i love.

I have retested this morning with a clearblue weeks indicator one, i was previously negative on this following my miscarriage so i knew if i got a positive on this then it was from a new pregnancy. I got my positive 1-2 weeks!! i will 100% be tracking like crazy and i think i will retest again in a week or so and keep testing until i get my 3+ and then i can relax a bit i hope.

Amberellalina · 31/10/2023 09:17

Congratulations @tlw14 - pleased and excited for you. I love the weeks indicators ones, they’re just flipping expensive 🤣

And thanks @Kewchoc. There is definitely a vvvvvvvfl there - I took a picture and ramped up the contrast. Also to test the theory that it is an evap, I dipped a strip from the same batch into water and left it the same amount of time. Absolutely no line at all. I am mindful of your experience last month though, and the fact that last time I was pregnant I didn’t get a positive until 13 dpo, so definitely proceeding with caution…

tlw14 · 31/10/2023 09:20

@Amberellalina thank you so much! Keeping everything crossed for you too.
Tell me about it!!! They are so expensive, deffo not designed for nutters like me to use them all the time

emmatcc1 · 31/10/2023 09:21

Woke up this morning with deep stabbing pains in my left boob and extremely hungry. Test was stark white, but I feel weirdly wet down there since about 8dpo.

Kewchoc · 31/10/2023 12:10

Oh gosh @tlw14 congratulations! What an exciting cycle this is turning out to be! Keeping absolutely everything crossed for you and @Amberellalina also how lovely that you've both been chatting on here so much and will likely have very similar due dates 🥰

Really hoping I get to join in the positive updates this month! Having a crap day at work so would be lovely to get a bfp today/tomorrow but I know it's still quite early, I'm only 8DPO today
