Willmouse - fingers crossed for you too

I usually have spotting for one day (never 3 days) before my AF arrives and that is usually accompanied by AF feelings (slight cramps, that 'feeling' in my tummy etc) but I have had none of those feelings. God I wish it was next Friday when I promised myself I could test!!

OP posts:
MrsPuddleduck · 07/03/2008 09:44

Good luck ceebee - I think it is worse when you have 'symptoms'. After last month I haven't even poked my boobs once and can honestly say I feel nothing at all.

Try to keep calm (easier said than done!).

Bellie · 07/03/2008 09:47

Ceebee - it could be implantation as Willmouse says or it could be af playing with you. Unfortunately only time will tell.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you both

ceebee74 · 07/03/2008 10:14

Thanks - I am really really trying not to get my hopes up so am convincing myself it is my AF showing herself early.

I had a cervical erosion with DS and bled a lot for 3 weeks (in fact I thought it was my AF as it started when it was due - it took me anouther 2 weeks to twig I was pg!) - but that was fresh red blood so completely different to this.

Ah well time will tell eh?

Willmouse - if you are going to test on CD37 what day will that be next week (I am far too lazy to work it out).

OP posts:
MrsPuddleduck · 07/03/2008 10:35

Ceebee - CD37 would be next Sunday. My mamoth cycle last month was 38 days so may wait until Tuesday .

HumphreysCorner · 07/03/2008 11:21

willmouse-cost of a cat eh? Well, when I got Marmalade he needed:

Vaccinations and neutering (Toms are cheaper to neuter than girlies) Had a microchip too so in 2001 that was approx £100. Every year you need a booster jab and worm tablets at least twice a year. Annual booster and wormer approx £40. I decided against pet insurance and just paid the £250 when he cracked a bone . Catteries round us charge between £4.25 and £6 per night and you need to show your booster certificate before they will accept your puss cat. I buy 8 tins of Whiskas in jelly per week for £4 (pouches are more expensive) and a box of GoCat biscuits are 85p and last ages because my first dentist took all but 4 of his teeth out. (he must have had a fetish for extractions so moved swiftly to another vet before he took any more out). He goes outside so doesn't need a litter tray anymore as Catsan litter can be costly if you plan on an indoor cat. So all in all, not too expensive to have a cat really and they keep the mice at bay

ceebee-good luck!

All other imminent testers-good luck!

Off to iron so back later.

£100 was for neutering, jabs and microchip BTW

Ceebee, you could be experiencing implantation bleeding. Sometimes when the embryo implants you can have a small amount of bleeding, I would not worry about it at the moment esp as it is brown.

Hello everyone, miss two days of this thread and you are seriously behind with the school work! Hope everyone well.

Have been looking at schools in Windsor for DS, but generally this week has been so busy. We have had two offers on the house (not enough, sadly) but they are offers and it means that someone wants our house!

Willmouse, cats do cost money, but shop around for pet insurance they can vary massively, also you can have cat spayed by PDSA for a donation, its a charity, look into a surgery in your area. If you adopt a kitten from a home, they will be already jabbed and they will neuter the cat when it is old enough. So there are ways of making it a little less expensive. Also when you go away, cats don't necessarily have to go to a cattery, you could ask a friend or neighbour to feed it, assuming of course, it will do its business outside!

Coming up to af time, one more cycle before FET in April, am taking no prisoners this time and listening to hypnotherapy tapes to keep me v relaxed.

Thanks for the info re the cat. I'm sure DH will never agree to it. He was v miserable last night . He says that we have no luck with pets and does have point .

HC - I could do with getting rid of mice. We keep getting the odd one down the alley between the back door and utility room. Last night I went to lock up and was confronted by one the problem is that I scream like a big girlie every time I see one .

We have some pelets to kill them and I am now seriously considering them.......Even if we get a cat a) it is only 2 weeks old so wont be here for at least another month and b) I didn't think you were supposed to let them out for the fist six months.

DH has made me really having said we can't afford a cat has asked me to look on Ebay for a spare guitar for Guitar Hero - approx £70

majormoo · 07/03/2008 13:59

hi all
Willmouse I hope you persuade DH re the cat. In fact in bed this morning I was thinking how much my kids would like one so you must be rubbing off on me. I am not an animal lover really and am allergic to cat hair so will not get one but I do think it is fantastic for kids to have a pet if you can be bothered to put the effort in yourself to look after it.

Goodness loads of people testing soon-it is hard to keep up. Good luck all

Soosy great that you have had some offers.

Alice looked the part thanks Bellie. I am glad I made the effort (despite spending an hour yesterday making her an apron to wear) as there were some fab costumes. A great Hermione in year 1 and a ghost in DDs class who couldn't see properly through the holes in his sheet and kept falling over! A few of the older kids looked like they had come as God but maybe it was Gandalf or Dumbledore instead!!

Juanitad enjoy your relaxing day

majormoo · 07/03/2008 14:01

oh and Ceebee I had some light spotting when pregnant with DD but I think that was at about six weeks. Anyway I hope it is good news

HumphreysCorner · 07/03/2008 15:00

Cats gan go out as soon as they have their first jab so my boy was only 6 weeks.

HC - I thought you had to wait until they were neutered in case they went off sowing their wild oats (or Bding as we call it here LOL!)

Perhaps if I got a cat it could join me here on this thread LOL. It could be Willcat LOL!

Heartmum2Jamie · 07/03/2008 17:48

Willmouse, it isn't so much whether or not you can afford routine stuff, it is more if you are having a tight month and something happens to your pet and it needs medical attention, could you afford it? We have 2 rabbits, they don't cost a huge amount on the whole, food, veg, hay & straw. They get 3 lots of vaccines per year (myxi gets done every 6 months). The have both been nuetered and spayed. Not long after we had our male bunny, he suddenly went really flopped and could barely walk. It was a friday night, as they work to the same schedule as kids getting ill! I knew it was bad as rabbits have to pretty much eat continuously to keep thier bowels moving, if thier bowels stop, they can die. I started syringe feeding the rabbit baby food and pellet mix and water while frantically ringing around all the vets. The only one that would see us wanted £75 before doing anything We honestly did not have the money, so stayed up all night, syringe feeding and keeping him warm, hoping he would make it to morning to get him to our own vet. Thankfully he made it and it turned out his problem was cauased by an injury and not anything more serious. From then on, I vowed that we had to keep some money stashed for emergency vet bills as they mount up real quick. It is the one thing that puts me off getting a bigger pet, like a cat or dog! I would never have forgiven myslef had Biscuit died because we couldn't afford emergency treatment.

Opps! Completyely not TTC related at all, but thought I would throw my 2p in!

HumphreysCorner · 07/03/2008 18:19

Lol-not everyone gets their pet neutered as it is not compulsary (MIL's dog for example-serve her right if she gets jumped one day). Marmalade had his bits chopped immediately I got him at 6 weeks ish.

My Parents dogs have never been neutered, but are kept in a walled garden, but cats are a bit more adventurous!

MJIM an FET is a Frozen Embryo Transfer, sorry, keep using IVF speak which is v unfair. Last IVF we managed to freeze four embryos, so I am hoping we may get lucky with frosties as they are affectionately known. The success rate is approx half that of a fresh IVF cycle, so around 10 - 15% for me, but so much less stressful and as I have regular cycle I don't have to take any drugs and I just ring on CD7 and have ultrasound scans every other day, until follicles are big enough and then use opk's. Four days after embryos are put back and we cross everything!

I have never had implantation bleed, but it is common enough that at the ACU they tell you not to worry about any light bleeding that is brown.

BB Well done for not testing!

You have a fab husband MJIM, could you possibly get him to give mine lessons!

Heartmum2Jamie · 07/03/2008 21:52

Thanks Soosy for the explaination of the abbreviations. I use another board were the girls talk about FET's ect and I have never had the nerve to ask what it meant! I hope all goes well with the frosties, what a great name.

Mjim, your DH sounds wonderful. I've just had a blazing row with mine. I'm sure he thinks I am the most evil cow on the face of the planet, but I really don't care!

HumphreysCorner · 08/03/2008 09:29

Any news anyone? Appear to have returned back to my 28 day cycle so currently on CD1. Hope none of you will be joining me. .

Have the usual not so friendly migraine today-am celebrating 20 years of monthly migraines this year. Blah!

Got to go and get DD1 some white ballet shoes this morning so had better go.
