Carolyn have a lovely birthday. I am jealous of your voucher for the spa place.

Well it does sound very promising so good luck. We are going to have a very interesting week on here next week!!

Glad you are enjoying the rugby Soosy. DH is a Chelsea fan so not a great sport weekend here.

HC hope the migraine is shifting.

We have had a pretty quiet day today-took DD to church this morning and then we all went to the park this afternoon, but I am still feeling like we've had a really busy day. DS is just constantly on the move and exploring which is exhausting (am I always moaning I am tired?) We foolishly left him on his own in the living room for a few minutes earlier, and when I walked in he had climbed up to DH's laptop and was moving the mouse saying 'FIMBLES, FIMBLES' (DH lets him look at the Cbeebies website.) That is clearly a lesson that a) we should not leave the child or laptop unattended and b) he already watches too much telly

majormoo · 09/03/2008 19:59

BB this bit referred to you but I forgot to put your name in :'Well it does sound very promising so good luck. '

ceebee74 · 09/03/2008 21:07

Majormoo ? me and DH have got something in common then I completely sympathise about your DS ? mine also does not sit still unless you are reading him a book ? he is just on the go constantly (my mum had 3 kids and is amazed by his energy!). He is also obsessed with both the Cbeebies website and the Thomas one ? in fact he stands at the office door which we always keep shut saying ?Gigis? (which is Thomas in our language ) over and over. I try to limit it to once a day though ? I just wish I could limit the telly but I am so weak and I always have the telly on in the background which is a really bad habit

Carolyn ? what a lovely weekend you have had ? enjoy tomorrow and have a fantastic day

Juanitad ? my cycle has been 30 and then 29 days the last 2 times ? I honestly don?t think I can hold out longer than Tuesday to test which would be CD30. I know this is early but it is killing me to hold out that long!

Soosy ? I have not noticed my boobs tingling tbh ? just a constant feeling iyswim.

Right ? off to do some ironing and then bed. I really hope I can resist the temptation to test with the first wee tomorrow ? MJIM, please send me some of your amazing willpower vibes!

Sorry to hear your news BB, BB don't worry so much about your age my sil and a friend both had babies at very near 41, and I am approaching 39 v rapidly!.

Ceebee hang in there.

HC Did you sell your bra? although it sounds as though you should have been swinging it around your head in the bedroom. Sorry not, only bedroom as I have discovered before!

Hope everyone else had a good weekend happy birthday Carolyn.

belgianbun-how disappointing for you. I feel your pain. I too am 39 in October.

soosy-turned out the advert wasn't free for my bra but have stuck it on for a 10 day listing. Am not going to get the £27.50 I paid for it but anything would be good.

Happy B'Day carolyn.

Miserable wet day-ggrrrhhh!!!

Morning all and happy birthday to Carolyn.

Sorry about AF belgianbun.

I am due middle/end of this week but after last months really long cycle I wont be testing for a while yet. I must admit I don't think I have much of a chance this month and as a result am not bothered and don't feel at all stressed. Much better than last month.

Had kitten conversation with DH yesterday morning. He said that he hated saying no to me but didn't really want a cat. Then about an hour later said if Cardiff get through to the semi finals of the FA cup I could get a kitten. He obviously didn't think they were going to win! . The thing is I don't really want a cat unless DH is happy about it iyswim. If not the first time it craps on the carpet it will be me that gets it in the neck. The main problem is our holiday - we have a fortnight booked at the end of July and the cat would still be quite young. As it would still be using a litter tray and being kept in alot it is too much to ask anyone to come in and feed plus there is the whole toxoplasmosis thing (although HC seems to have survived!) so I am re-thinking now . Sorry to keep going on about cats everyone.......

Heartmum2Jamie · 10/03/2008 11:17

Belgianbun, I am sorry to hear the witch showed

Carolyn: Happy Birthday!

Willmouse, lol at your dh! Lots of upsets in the FA cup over the weekend, was great really! The decision to get a pet is a big one, I hope you can come to a decision you are all happy with.

Sorry to not know what is going on with everyone else, haven't read more than this page.

Have made it to 6 weeks and today I feel pretty blah. I had odd days with my last pregnancies and I hope that is what this is and not the start of continuous morning sickness/nausea until 12 weeks or more. I have already done barely anything with the boys today, not good for a home educating mama

MrsPuddleduck · 10/03/2008 11:35

Forgot to mention that DS2 had a bout of what I presume is reflux in the night.

Just phoned childminder to check if he is Ok to go tomorrow and she has informed me that two of her mindees are off with chickenpox!! He was with at least one of them on Friday and his sister hasn't caught it yet but is still going and he will be exposed to her tomorrow! What's the betting I have to re-arrange the party

juanitad · 10/03/2008 17:19

Hi everyone,

and so another week begins...oh to win the lottery and give up work (or at least to get pregnant and have a few months maternity leave, but no doubt having a baby will be even harder than going to work!!)

Really sorry to hear that AF turned up, bb, she's so mean isn't she? CD30 here, AF due today, tomorrow or Wednesday but not here so far. I am just watching an episode of Friends, the one where Rachel finds out she is pregnant, after a quick fumble with Ross....if only it were that easy!!

Any news from anyone else? Ceebee, are those boobs still sore?!!

carolyn1941 · 10/03/2008 17:57

Hello everyone! I'm having a fab day thank you all so much for your kind wishes! Took birthday cake to work so was really popular! My year 7 class sung happy birthday to me and I nearly cried! Got some lovely pressies and just off out for another meal!...with some more BDing later hopefully! (CD 18/31)

So sorry BB that AF got you...she's a horror grrrrrrrrrrr . It's a new month now to try all over again!

Anyone else got news???? I'm on tenterhooks here!!!!!!!!!!!

sorry to hear that BB. It really is stressful sometimes this attempting to have a baby malarky. My tactic with my disappointment the other week was runny cheese and red wine.

Glad you are enjoying your birthday Carolyn.

Willmouse hope DS escapes the pox

HM2J -put your feet up if you can and get an early night. Horrible when you feel rubbish

Oh my god the weather today. Got blown about and soaked picking DD up from school. Of course the gale, rain, thunder stopped at about 3.20pm when we got home.

ceebee74 · 10/03/2008 20:33

Evening everyone

Carolyn ? so glad you had a fantastic birthday and here?s hoping you round off the month with a BFP

Belgian ? sorry again for you and I hope you pick up again soon. That crushing disappointment each month is just awful I always think TTC is one hell of an emotional rollercoaster.

Seem to have escaped the weather here ? it was pretty wild overnight but has not been too bad today ? lots of sunshine (in amongst a few showers) and not particularly windy either.

Had a fab day today ? shopping this morning and then met a colleague at a soft play area late this afternoon ? she has 2 children and they had bought a friend each and all 4 of them were following DS round ? twas hilarious to watch one 20 month old leading a pack of 7 and 9 year olds ? they were fighting over who could take him down the slide and who could push him in the car ? needless to say DS was completely in his element as he LOVES being the centre of attention

Right catch you all later ? Queen Delia is about to start and anything that makes cooking easier is a winner in my book

Just a quick update on the cat debate - we've had ours for over 4 years now. I've been broody since forever, but never felt like I was in the right place to have a child (until now!) and so the cat was my baby substitute!! We got her from a rescue centre, she had been knocked about by her previous owners, she was really frightened when we got her, but she's a different cat now, I feel like we've really made a difference and that makes me feel good!! She sleeps/eats in the kitchen, goes out and about in the day (she has a cat flap) and generally does her business outside. We've now decided it's time to get a new kitchen, as ours is really outdated and just plain horrible to be honest. The problem is, the issue of what to do with the cat is now causing a major difference of opinion! DH does not want the cat to live in the new kitchen, and doesn't want to have a cat flap fitted in the new back door. I can understand his point - not very hygenic having cat hair around the food preparation area, but then again we've had her for four and a half years and we've not died of cat hair poisoning so far. His suggestion is that we get a cat kennel kind of thing for her and she lives outside!! Now I know that lots of cats live outside and are fine, but ours is used to the indoor life, apart from the odd roam around the neighbourhood, and she will get such a shock if she is forced to live outside. God, sorry to have ranted on and on about the bloody cat, but my point really is that pets can be a cause for arguments, so I was just thinking wilmouse, that this might be another factor to take into account in your cat dilemma!!!

That's all from me for now, no more ranting!!

Majormo I am with you on the runny cheese and red wine, although after my last IVF attempt it was three bottles of champagne with a friend and cigarettes, which I gave up ten years ago I was very ill, that night and the day after, and the day after, but I needed to do it, and I can't pass someone in the street smoking now without wanting to vomit!

BB, I am so sorry, you are feeling so sad and like time is running out, I know that one too. You have obviously had some investigations, as you saw your big fat follicle on screen. Is it worth going back to your doc?

Carolyn, glad you had a fab birthday and all those children, you lucky thing . I think perhaps I should have been a teacher, i just didn't want go back to college, I just adore children and before we found out we had problems I wanted at least four. I would happily settle for one more right now!

My Dad has burnt his hand quite badly and i am feeling guilty that I don't live near him. He is ok, and he wouldn't want me to fuss over him, but I do worry, as he is on his own.

My MIL on the other hand is being completely mad and I am on the verge..... well lets just say I am on the verge!

carolyn1941 · 11/03/2008 07:25

Morning all

BB - hope you are feeling just a little better. I have been thinking about you lots. Sending big hygs today

Juanita - any sign of AF or BFP????? Here's hoping!!!!!

Willmouse/Ceebee - are you resisting the urge to test???

Hope everyone has a nice day, better weather and well behaved DC's!

Bellie · 11/03/2008 07:38

Anyone planning to test today? Or are you all holding out as long as possible?

BB - hope you are feeling a little better today. I feel your disappointment and frustration. Can you go back and see your gp/consultant?

Soosy - hope your dad is OK - both sets of our parents live a long way away so the guilt does get you doesn't it! (MIL too near to you I guess??)

Off to take dd to nursery and then I have a tonne of housework to do and then have an ultrasound and internal scan today to check ovaries ok.

Have a good day all x

ceebee74 · 11/03/2008 07:39

Morning everyone.

Soosy - I hope your dad is ok. My parents live about 90 minutes away and when my dad had a heart attack about 9 months ago it was really tough to be so far away - although he does have my mum so I realise it is slightly different.

HC - how is the migraine today? Are you fully recovered?

Right now on CD30 (of a 29-30 day cycle), still have slightly sore boobs and absolutely no AF signs or symptoms - did a test at 3.40 this morning (as I woke up and thought I would use the concentrated wee!) and got a BFN . Any thoughts?

Am feeling bloody rough today to make things worse as I have got a bad sore throat, mouth ulcers and am aching a bit.

OP posts:
MrsPuddleduck · 11/03/2008 09:45

Hi Ceebee - sorry about your BFN. I don't know what to say really. Last month I had 3 BFN's until AF arrived on CD38.

AF has arrived here btw but I feel OK. It means that I calculated the day I ov'd correctly (and exactly) so I am taking some comfort from that. I am considering taking this month off (DH is a December baby and has memories of joint birthday/christmas presents plus expense blah blah blad. Jury is out we will just have to see what happens).

Juainitad -re the cat. We had a dog whom I adored until the day I bought DS1 into the house and basically went hysterical over dog hair and virtually insisted that DH re-home it immediately (he didn't of course, it was just hormones!). I am wondering how I will feel about a cat jumping on the work surfaces in the kitchen.......

Heartmum2Jamie · 11/03/2008 10:39

Ceebee, sorry to hear about your BFN. I really don't have any advice for you either

Willmouse, sorry to hear about AF. It is good that you were able to accurately pinpoint O though. I hope you make a choice about next cycle that suits you. I think had I have fallen in december, I would have had a party in the middle of the year to celebrate a December birthday. As for cats jumping on the worksurfaces, the thought makes me shudder!

Soosy, sorry to hear about your Dad, I hope he is ok?

MJIM: eek to 5.40am!

How is everyone else? Anyone near testing?
