Hi I'm brand new to Mumsnet. I'm 26 TTC for first baby, been trying a couple of months, was on pill for 8 years before this so appreciate it will likely take some time. Found waiting for af a bit tough last month, tested a lot. I know most people have much longer waits before positive test but would love to share the journey with others. Hope this is the right forum for this!

@Kez437 oh god, no stupid questions asked! I used the boots 5 day early ones! I tried to find the FR and couldn’t find them anywhere! So I have bought two more boots early ones and then a clear blue early detection with the little flashy light on the end! Completely get what you’re saying that it doesn’t feel real! x

Kez437 · 07/07/2023 14:56

@Abs014 Ah ok that makes sense, in fairness I found FR by pure chance in a random independent chemist in my next town so I know they can be difficult to find!
What baby number is this for you? Have you been trying for a while?

Abs014 · 07/07/2023 15:14

@Kez437 ohh lucky find then! This will be number 2 for me, but my partners first! My son is 14 this year so it’s a big old age gap 🙈 It’s something we have wanted for about a year, have been a bit slack with protection but made the decision to track and try properly last month, so this was only my 2nd go! My first cycle I was 9 days late and I’m normally like clockwork so I read up a lot and learnt fast 😂

How about you? x

Ladies was on the May/June TTC thread and been reading along with this one. I'm 9 DPO and 5 days before AF. Took a First Response this evening for the first time ever and it's positive! The line looks strong, I assume this is a good thing? I'm just nervous now, I've tested so early I feel like I've extended the worry time and I had a chemical last time we were TTC so hyper conscious of that. Sorry just rambling, I'm excited and nervous all in one and with no one to tell but hubby I'm bursting!

That's a great line for 9dpo! 🤩🎉

GHJ · 09/07/2023 14:02

Hello ladies how are things going? I'm not enjoying the tww. Haven't used ovulation testing this month (that's the plan for next month if af does arrive) but think I'm about cd20 of 29day cycle. Think I probably ovulated around Wednesday date-wise. I know I should wait until af overdue before I test and definitely way too soon ATM but what's the earliest any of you have had a positive? I only have cheapy boots and Wilko tests but it's going to be a long week/10 days!

I read somewhere that you’re supposed to have more energy after your period as you go towards ovulation. I feel the most tired I’ve felt and I’ve come out in spots. Eurgh!!

Jazz30 · 09/07/2023 15:33

Hey i veen trying to concieve for a while now been off pill for nearly 3years. Keep finding something happens near ovalution period that stops us doing it.. I literally get upset everytime my period comes.. X

GHJ · 09/07/2023 16:55

@Underthesea88 sorry to hear you're feeling low energy. There's so much affects your energy though other than your cycle and hormones. Or is there any chance you could be anaemic if you're feeling low energy right off the back of your period? Really hope you're feeling better soon.
@Jazz30 sorry to hear that, I know the feeling of disappointment well. We've not been trying for too long yet but it's still so disappointing seeing the negative tests or Af arriving. Can you try to set aside some together time around ovulation? Or does that feel too pressured? Wishing you the best for this cycle, what stage are you at? Is this baby 1 for you?

In my world I've been super irrational and taken a test just now at only cd20 which of course was negative. I feel rough suddenly this afternoon with bad nausea and tiredness and wondered if I might have my dates wrong. Did find another thread where a few ladies had nausea at 3 or 4dpo, several days pre bfp but I know it's incredibly unlikely given won't have even implanted yet so no HCG!

I've been posting on TTC 2024 babies but this seems to be more active so can I join this thread please.

glasshalffull0 · 09/07/2023 16:59

Think I'm probably out for Junes cycle. 15 DPO and still a BFN- surely there would be the slightest hint of a line by now?

Pregnacare conception tablets increased my cycle length to 37 days so I have no idea when to expect AF now either. A bit of a disaster first cycle as I got thrush and never caught my peak too! Phew, bring on the next cycle.

Jazz30 · 09/07/2023 17:47

Yeah first time... It feels pressure im trying to just forget about it and enjoy life but so hard.

ttcthoughts · 10/07/2023 06:35

Morning Ladies, I hope you do not mind me joining,

I am TTC Number 2 we have been trying Since October 2022 and have has 2 Miscarriages in that time. I am currently on CD 16 and I don't think I have OV yet, but I assume that will be because of the MC last cycle.

@GHJ How are you feeling?

Wonderingwoes · 10/07/2023 15:09

I’m on CD26 of a usually 27/28 day cycle, possibly 9 dpo?
had spotting on 7 dpo, but nothing since! I usually spot from 8-dpo to 11 dpo (11 day luteal phase) but nothing so far 🤞🏼 I’m hoping the spotting was IB. I’ve got achy back and some pinching feeling in lower stomach! How’s everyone feeling? xx

Abs014 · 10/07/2023 18:16

@Wonderingwoes ohh sounds promising!

Jazz30 · 10/07/2023 21:12

Im actually having some test done which im so scared about but trying to keep positive

GHJ · 11/07/2023 07:32

@ttcthoughts feeling much better now thanks, was just a few hours feeling really nauseous. Have had a bit of reflux which isn't really like me and cramps here and there but nothing else yet and I know it's too early anyway really to be trying to symptom spot! Really sorry to hear about your miscarriages. Wishing you all the best x

Hi
Can I join please - had my implant taken out at the beginning of June and we decided to see what would happen. Had a period/ withdrawal bleed in the middle of June and then felt bloated/ excess gas/ nauseous most of last week. Got my period on Friday (earlier than I expected but who knows what my cycles are doing!) but it only lasted for just over 24 hours and I felt horribly nauseous the whole time. Feel better now.

May buy some ovulation tests this week but the whole thing confuses me. Part of me knows that I had the implant for so long - 13 years in total - and I should just relax and see what happens. The other part of me just wants to check everything and is very impatient.

I am 32 and this is my first time trying.

Ecgx · 11/07/2023 12:44

Hiya I just wanted to give you some feedback from someone who come off the implant and conceived. With number 1 I came off the implant had a big withdrawal bleed and then a small ish bleed a few weeks later, in total it was 6 weeks later I got a BFP! I had no idea what was happening with my cycle but I did not think it would be that quick! I took pregnacare pre conception and we started ovulation testing because I had no idea but I think that picked up my early pregnancy but it wasn’t long after I had a BFP. I had sex everyday as we had no idea what was happening so didn’t want to miss anything and just tested every week as again had no idea! Good luck sending baby dust your way x

Jazz30 · 11/07/2023 19:58

@GHJ had a blood test done today x

GHJ · 11/07/2023 20:53

@Jazz30 hope you get good results and quickly. It's not nice waiting x

@Ecgx Thank you - that's really helpful. I have not actually spoken to anyone who has come off the implant and started TTC so its good to have someone's experience of it. x

Hello again!

I hope your TWW is going fast for you, which day are you on now?
I've never gotten a bfp but I don't think it's a bad thing to test a bit earlier (I know you're supposed to wait) but I normally test around 11dpo - if it's negative I can at least prepare myself but still have a tiny bit of hope that it might change.

We're now onto a new cycle 🙄 (cycle 11), hoping for the best this month but also starting to look into getting some fertility tests done at the end of this month too.

Roxystar23 · 12/07/2023 10:57

Hello!

I'm 34 and TTC Baby Number 2. We have a 13 month old boy. We have only been actively trying since last month but My mind is already at the stage of encouraging me to google early pregnancy signs - Vivid Dreams & Exhaustion (I'm asleep on the sofa at 9pm and have been for the last week!).

However, I'm on CD32 (Of a 32 day cycle) and 13dpo - So I won't have too long to wait for this month. Unfortunately I think as I type this I think I am starting to feel bloated and feel a bit of my usual period pains starting up in my belly.

Lovely to e-meet you all and join the TTC journey with you all. :)

GHJ · 12/07/2023 19:09

Hi @NicSC93 I think I'm approx 7dpo based on app predictions. I've decided that if I want to keep testing that's probably ok rather than trying to wait and feel anxious even though the obviously bfn I had just now might not mean anything. I've ordered a load of cheapy Amazon ones which are only 14p a test or something and should arrive Friday. I've been getting quite a lot of discomfort in my lower abdomen which I haven't had before but other than that nothing as of yet. Next month we'll be measuring ovulation if af arrives so hopefully might get a better idea of what's actually happening. Fingers crossed and baby dust to you this month, look forward to hearing how it goes!
