I’ve got a blood test booked by the doctor for the first week in November so I’ll see what happens there (if nature hasn’t already sorted it by then)

MK85 · 25/10/2023 16:31

@Downtherabbithole83 don't worry yourself over test lines. I don't think they mean anything and those tests have a threshold hcg level anyway and only a blood test can determine your hcg levels accurately.

I've seen poeple freaking out over super faint lines that weren't progressing and they had a successful pregnancy.
And then I've seen people who had strong tests that the pregnancy didn't work out
So I think it can go other way regardless of what a test says so don't get too hung up on the test lines

Downtherabbithole83 · 25/10/2023 17:39

Oh that’s good to hear - thanks @MK85. I guess it’s because the last couple of times my lines didn’t progress I ended up with chemicals and after the tfmr I overthink EVERYTHING! I’ll try and just chill out now and see what happens - I don’t have any control over it anyway!

How are you feeling now?

MK85 · 25/10/2023 18:05

@Downtherabbithole83 its hard not to over think everything isn't it.

Feeling a little better. Still quite sore tho. Yesterday was very tough and I was on bed rest the whole day and majority of today really. I'm still very swollen and tender and all the stims have played havoc on my bowels 🙈 I cant sit up in bed without help . The girl in the bed beside me was up walking about doing her make up as i was leaving. She obviously found it a breeze. They told me the consultant put alot of pressure on both my ovaries trying to move them into position to retrieve the eggs as come collection day my right ovary with all the follicles was going walkabouts aswell 😆 so ill be sore for a few days.
Providing our embabys are doing OK on Friday they'll assess the transfer based on how I'm feeling.
The process itself was fine. I was awake through the process and the light sedation they gave me did diddly squat other than make me dizzy and vomit . It wasn't entirely pain free but I'd definitely do it all again if it helps us get a baby.
I'm just hoping things go well . I think quality is our biggest issue

Downtherabbithole83 · 25/10/2023 18:24

@MK85 At least you haven’t got too long to wait - Friday will come round soon. Sorry it’s been so rough for you xx

ttcat37 · 25/10/2023 18:37

Crossing everything for you @MK85

niknaks37 · 26/10/2023 11:01

@MK85 hey sorry your the one person on here who is going through what I am about to go through. By the sounds of it you have been through the wars, but would I by right in saying half way through if not more?
Currently sitting in my car outside the ulster, had my appointment with Gyne, certainly no mucking about. Had a scan done of my uterus and ovaries, all good there, no issues. The nurse took swabs and I also had a blood test to see if I am immune to measles. Went through all the list of questions, my health and then straight onto my husbands health. Needless to say it went downhill from there, due my husbands medication for IBD it has more than likely affected his sperm. His analysis came back low percentage of morphology, dr said based on those results we are looking at a straight referal for ICSI IVF. Top it off in good old Northern Ireland you only have 1 chance of IVF on the NHS, and this needs to happen before I am 40, I am 39 in February. Meaning the ball will get rolling fairly quickly once I hand these sperm analysis result to the doctor at the ulster tomorrow. Recently the wait time is 10 weeks however the time frame has lengthened. Really doesnt help my anxiety.
Doctor confirmed what I had already read up on, but to hear itwas like hitting a wall. Been balling my eyes out for last hour! I am so full of mixed emotions, knowing what is ahead of me and how hard it is going to be. I dont know where to turn, dont know how I am going to tell my mum. What angers me more is knowing this was always going to be the route no matter when we started ttc. Plus I cant afford private IVF! The money involved is ridiculous. Almost feel like I am fighting a losing battle.
Sorry for the essay, I really need to rant and get my feelings out. Education certainly doesnt prepare you for what could happen if you dont fall pregnant easily, pretty much drummed into us that if you have unprotectd sex you'll get pregnant! 😡😭

@niknaks37 Icsi is brilliant for overcoming morphology issues. Our morphology was really low aswell and out of our 4 mature eggs we have 3 fertilised eggs now from icsi. The 4th hadn't fertilsed properly but that's pretty good overall with regards to fertilisation rates.
Is that what they said 40? Cause my gynae told me last october limit here is 42 years.
It's completely normal to feel overwhelmed with emotions. I think venting is sometimes probably the best thing to do. It really does consume you. I think since we started this whole process it's all I think or talk about. Don't worry about what's ahead. One thing I can say is rfc will definitely take brilliant care of you. They make the whole process so easy and we felt comfortable from start to finish. I honestly couldn't fault their care. They set everything out in front of you clear and promptly and they organise everything. You just have to show up. There's no chasing them up and your fully supported throughout the process.
I kept everything private. My family don't know we went through ivf.
For some the process is tough and others it's fine but overall ivf is not as bad as I thought it would be. I think the meds and retrieval has just been especially tough for me because of my specifc health issues. The other girls in my recovery room seemed to tolerate it all well so your experience hopefully will never be like me. I was always a risk from the start and that was made clear to me. My ovaries weren't easy accessed so that involved alot of pelvic manipulation and I think they said I could be internally bruised. But overall I think I'm just a very rare case so don't overthink the process.

I think we're going to do another round .
We can't really afford it but i'm only producing a very low number of mature eggs in a cycle and one ovary dosent respond to stims and is too small to grow follicles. Thankyou pcos . It seems like I'm chucking out poor quality eggs that we can't make full blasts so going again is likely our only option.
I'm due for a transfer tomorrow . I don't know how I'm going to manage it as I'm still very sore and not back on my feet. It's only been 3 days since my retrieval but they don't think our embryos will make it to day 5 so it's better to try and give them a shot to develop into blasts in the natural environment.

Feel free to private message me anytime you need a rant. I honestly don't mind. I didn't know anyone who'd been through the process so I'd no idea what to expect. Every clinic works a little differently so if my experience with rfc can help ease someone's mind then I'm happy to share

Downtherabbithole83 · 26/10/2023 21:01

@MK85 and @Rusticanella - just to update you, pretty sure AF has just turned up.

I’m relieved to be honest: knew something wasn’t right! Would have been nice if AF could have waited until I got home from holiday though… 🤦‍♀️

Rusticanella · 27/10/2023 14:42

@Downtherabbithole83 sorry to hear that

MK85 · 27/10/2023 15:23

@Downtherabbithole83 sending you lots of love . Take it easy and spoil yourself this weekend

EalingLucy · 28/10/2023 18:28

False alarm :( Back to the drawing board…

Downtherabbithole83 · 28/10/2023 19:12

Sorry to hear that @EalingLucy - the ttc journey seems to be filled with bumps in the road. Hope you’re okay!

EalingLucy · 28/10/2023 23:51

Thanks :) Yes I’m ok. Also on the waiting list for fertility investigations - first appt in Jan. I turn 40 next august which is the local cut off point for ivf - do you think that’ll be ok? Do I have to get the ivf done before 40?

MK85 · 29/10/2023 00:03

@EalingLucy are you being referred to fertility clinic or to a gynae?

EalingLucy · 29/10/2023 02:22

Fertility clinic… I’ve already blood tests etc and they were all fine. No physical exams tho

hennie222 · 29/10/2023 07:10

Hi @EalingLucy I think... but don't quote me ...that if you're in the gynae system before 40 you will get a cycle in. I'm in a similar boat. Was referred at 38 but because I was pregnant (mmc) no NHS IVF for 2 years is allowed. That will put me at 40 but consultant said as I'm in the system they will be allowed to do a cycle. I'm pursuing private (but other factors slowing that up!). Worth asking at your first appointment to get clear answers as I think it varies by region.

Ask 4 a transvaginal scan to check 4 fibroids etc

bubballoo · 30/10/2023 09:47

Had a squinter of a line yesterday and this today. Feeling very anxious/flat. I just want it to be a baby, not another chemical or miscarriage. It's weird, like my brain won't let me be excited. I want to be excited!
Please please please be viable!

MK85 · 30/10/2023 10:46

@EalingLucy you could ring the clinic and ask currently waiting times.
Some boards are extremely strict and requirements do vary per area.
I have a friend who pursued ivf a number of years ago and she hit the limit during her consultation stages with the clinic and was told she was no longer eligible as treatment needed to have been commenced before her birthday and she'd then aged out, regardless of the fact she was already in the system

ttcat37 · 30/10/2023 10:49

@bubballoo how many dpo are you? That is positive!

bubballoo · 30/10/2023 10:52

@ttcat37 10/11dpo.
Yes definitely a positive. Sadly I've had a few positives that didn't end with a successful pregnancy. I'm just feeling a bit worn down by the whole thing. Maybe it's just pregnancy hormones? I'll book an early scan at 7 weeks to assuage my nerves.

MK85 · 30/10/2023 12:48

@bubballoo looks like a positive and well done finding a frer

bubballoo · 30/10/2023 12:50

@MK85 ha, yes! I ordered them from Amazon. Can never find them in the shops

MK85 · 30/10/2023 12:58

I have to refrain myself from testing over the next two weeks.
I had a double embryo transfer yesterday so I currently have 2 embabies in there but I'm not feeling very confident as they were poor quality grading. It'll be a miracle if one takes. If this fails we're taking a break until after Christmas and then I guess we'll assess the situation and perhaps undergo another gruelling round of ivf. I think they grades have really put a downcast on my kind for future rounds.
Is anyone else currently in the tww
