Hello Ladies
Hope everyone is doing ok today!
Started my buserelin and norethisterone today - still have to psych myself up before the injection, even though I know it's, at most, a little stingy and itchy! Really hoping and praying this round works. For so long, I wanted to have a baby before I turned 40, then before I turned 41, now I'm just hoping that I'm pregnant when I turn 41! Why does time fly by when you want it to slow down?!😕

Hi ladies I hope you are all well and I am writing this with a guarded heart . We got our bfp today , have done three tests and all positive . In shock , have been shaking all day. Obviously we have a journey ahead of us as at this age of 44 you never know but the fact of getting a positive test has just blown us away. I think my husband is in disbelief. I am just shocked beyond !! Just to remind you all we did medicated IUI as was still
in medical
menopause from my Depot injection from our failed IVF. This was our third IUI. Very early indeed but i just wanted to say don’t give up!! Xx

Thank you to everyone of you for your sweet messages, I went for bloods this morning to see HCG levels,. My tests have been all over the place this weekend and i know i have been using different tests and testing different times. Let's see what the results say, the nurse was quite shocked that I was even pregnant. She said Woh you are brave . I wanted to get up and walk out lol. Why are some not sensitive about their words!!!!Hope you are all well x

@praying4babba I can't believe she said that - that's appalling! She should know better, being a nurse. I had a family friend once say "we only got married when we were 40 and so were beyond trying for kids" and I immediately disagreed and tried my best to not get pissed off! Just ignore the silly nurse, she has no idea! Fingers crossed for your results!

I'm on day 4 of my meds and not really noticing anything yet, but I think it takes a week for most of the side effects. My provisional ET date seems so far away - even though it isn't really. I'm just trying to stay positive at the moment that this time will work!

@BertLiv yes i always find the meds initially are not too bad, it is ones we take after that really mess me up.
Yes some really do not watch their tongue , when I found out I was pregnant with my son 16 years ago , the locum told me I will more than likely miscarry as it was my first pregnancy. I sat in my car and cried. Some do not have the basic etiquette to safeguard people's feelings. When will you know how long you have to be on these meds for? I feel like this is a never ending rollercoaster to be honest . So exhausting. Sending light and positivity xx

hi ladies so first HCG came back at 169 for 15dpo. Doc worried it is low . My progesterone and oestradiol are really high . Have to go back tomorrow morning for another test to make sure the HCG is doubling. Still on the emotional rollercoaster, want to go to bed and wake up with a baby in my arms lol Exhausted.com. Hope you guys are all ok ,

I'm following the same protocol as my previous round, and so a few more days of noresthisterone, then I'll start oestradiol when I start my bleed. My buserelin injections will go up until our first scan, which will hopefully be around 15/2 and, if all looks good at that scan, they will stop, I'll start the cyclogest and the ET will be booked! I found the cyclogest the worst of all the meds, but I'll put up with anything if it helps us have a baby!

Cyclogest is progesterone right? I am taking 400 mg a day , gosh it also is the one i detest but yes we will do anything lol

I was sure for DE treatment you need only pills to thicken the lining? Now it gives me a panic attack in case I’ll be asked to do injections. How do you you that? What do women usually do if they can’t inject themselves?

@GingerFox2021 it’ll depend on the specific protocol of your clinic. For DE with my Spanish clinic I had to down reg with nasal spray then moved onto progesterone pessaries and oestrogen tablets. After transfer I had to add in various other things up until 10-12 weeks which included Clexane injections. The UK don’t often follow such full on protocols but your clinic might want some of it.
I was terrified of needles pre-IVF and thought there was no way I would cope with the injections…. My OH did them for me for 2 days and then I just needed to do it myself so that I was in full control. I have zero issues with injections now (after 3 ECs and 1 transfer) - you’ll get on so much better than you can ever imagine 🙏🏼🙏🏼

@praying4babba Yes, it’s progesterone - I will be on 3 of the 400mg - not great but not bad enough to make me not do it!

@GingerFox2021 I know it’s easier said than done, but try not to worry! I hated the idea of injections but they’re really not as bad as you think. The first is the worst, as you don’t know what to expect, and then you realise it’s fine. My husband hates needles and so didn’t want to do the injections, so he puts the buserelin into the syringe for me, which is perfect!

let’s see. I’m fine with needles when nurses do them and I don’t care, but doing it myself omg. I’m shaking like a leaf and injections have not been even prescribed yet. Haven’t had my dr appt yet 🤷‍♀️. Off to Prague though next week.

@GingerFox2021 @Kelb79 I’m starting my mock cycle for DE (Spain). The pill and then injection of Decapeptyl. But the injection is meant to be intramuscular and a doctor or nurse should do it. No doctor or nurse will do it so going to have to do it myself.

The belly is not intramuscular but all IVF vids is people injecting into fat in the belly so somehow I have to get my very expensive injections into my butt muscle by myself. And pray I’ve done it right.

Why is everything so hard?

@Noodles4Me how is your mock cycle? Did they tell you when is the real cycle? Can I ask which clinic in Spain you are with?

I will start my last cycle with OE next week, but dont have high hopes, though very high number of follicles (37!), looks like pcos diagnosis they mentioned when I was younger might get true.
So researching clinics for DE.. Was considering Portugal as non-anonymous, but cannot find a lot of reviews and some are really mixed... So looks mire likely Spain or Czech Republic.. For me quite important that they match my features well... dont ask me why 🙈
Trying to understand which will do the matching process vigorously and better

@TT82 i’m going ahead with Gynem in Prague.
i am doing my cycle to start my period as they disappeared since end of November. I have some simple plain cysts which kind of prevent me from having periods. We’ll try to get rid of them with one injection of Ovitrelle plus some pills first.
I’ll go ahead with frozen eggs. Next month i
might have more updates what’s happening next.

@GingerFox2021 thank you! Putting Gynem on my research list. I looked at Cube in Prague, also talked to a smaller one in Olomouc, about OE cycle as nd second opinion, also touched DE topic. What he said straight that a baby will look very different to my own kids... so not sure how much effort they put into matching

@TT82 hi. I’m currently in my mock cycle. I’ll be going for an endometrial ultrasound towards end of the month then sending results to my clinic in Spain.

Then I start a cycle for an endometrial biopsy (receptiveness and NK cells) due in early March so have to fly back.

Then (!) if all okay will start the actual transfer cycle, so another intramuscular injection (very hard to mix and administer yourself) and drugs. Fingers crossed for a transfer in April.

It’s a lot to do and to process. I’m at IVF Life, Alicante. So far so good 😊

@Noodles4Me hi, wow such a complicated long process! I hoped it is just like you prepare with hormones the lining and transfer... 😳 Do they always do mock cycle? And so much biopsy... I had it twice recently as there was inflammation mild (though no infection) abd they put me on antibiotics, I really didn't like the procedure at all 🫣
