It all went well ladies. I can't quite believe it. We're still apprehensive but measuring on track at 11w2d. She did have to wait for it to stretch out a bit as it was all tucked up and measuring 10w5d.
Not getting too excited but glad things seem to all be going well xx

@FfoxRedN Eeeek that's so amazing! So happy for you :D Keep growing baby! 😍

Delays here so I'm sitting in an 'attractive' gown and waiting.

bringmearainbow · 09/05/2023 10:55

@FfoxRedN ahhh I'm so happy to hear that lovely ❤️ when is the next scan? Xxx

@TheBirdintheCave oh no delays 🙄 least you're ready to rock come on little eggies 💪🏼

FfoxRedN · 09/05/2023 11:01

@TheBirdintheCave eeek exciting though! Hope it goes ok 🥰

@bringmearainbow next official one is the proper dating scan at 13 weeks, so 23rd May. We may have a private one before that so we can tell family but not sure what to do yet 🫣 xx

bringmearainbow · 09/05/2023 11:10

@FfoxRedN ahhh it's really hard to take that step makes it seem a lot more real most of my family know but DH family don't know at all yet and it kills me to act normal around them when I feel rotten xxx

LuckyMoonstone · 09/05/2023 11:31

@FfoxRedN brilliant news :)

bunnykins123 · 09/05/2023 11:56

@FfoxRedN omg that's amazing news - I'm really pleased to hear all is on track!! I had a good feeling about your scan today. I think you can be quite optimistic now - measuring on track at 11weeks is a really good sign 💕

@TheBirdintheCave sorry to hear about the delays. Hopefully you'll be in and out in no time!

@bringmearainbow salt and vinegar squares do sound good! Enjoy Norfolk - hopefully the weather is good for you!

MrsJGrealish · 09/05/2023 12:05

@FfoxRedN brilliant news lovely 🥰

TheBirdintheCave · 09/05/2023 12:10

Awake and eating custard creams now. Husband has gone to do his part 😂 Was a lovely sleep. No word on how many eggies yet.

bringmearainbow · 09/05/2023 12:44

Got my referral letter from the doctor these are the TSH results. So result is too low not too high 🤔

bunnykins123 · 09/05/2023 13:24

@TheBirdintheCave ah well done! How are you feeling? Hope they have looked after you!!

@bringmearainbow it's so slightly below normal? To me that seems unlikely to be something that's a major issue but hopefully resolvable with some meds 🤞

TheBirdintheCave · 09/05/2023 13:39

Only got 25 eggs from 44 follicles so I'm feeling a bit shit about it. Obvs no idea how many are mature and then it gets cut down even more in terms of how many fertilise and how many are still going at day five.

Also been told we might have to do five days more of stabbies which made me burst into tears. And they cost £60 when I've already had to spend loads this month.

bunnykins123 · 09/05/2023 13:43

@TheBirdintheCave 25 is a BRILLIANT number! I heard the average was around 14 so you should be really proud of that number. I do understand the frustration with having to do more injections - is there a reason why?

TheBirdintheCave · 09/05/2023 13:46

@bunnykins123 Just the usual spectre of OHSS.

The other kick in the teeth was husband's excellent sperm numbers (best he's ever had, motility was at 65%) which just hammers home that my stupid body is the reason we're not getting pregnant naturally and makes me panic that any embryos we do get won't implant as my body seems to reject everything.

bunnykins123 · 09/05/2023 14:10

@TheBirdintheCave oh I see, are you in any pain from OHSS or feeling ok? That's great news about DH spermies, I reckon you will get some great eggies. Are they putting you on any specific meds once they've transferred the eggs to support implantation?

TheBirdintheCave · 09/05/2023 14:50

@bunnykins123 Just progesterone I think 🤷🏻‍♀️

Anyway I guess that's me out of here now as I've got no chance of being pregnant any time in the near future so will have zero to talk about.

bringmearainbow · 09/05/2023 14:59

@bunnykins123 yes only slightly below so not too sinister. Tbh I'm not sure if they will do anything I've read some articles that say it's normal for it to drop in early pregnancy something to do with hcg suppressing it 🤷🏼‍♀️ we shall see I have an appointment with the specialist next Thursday so I will have more of an idea then. Tbh seeing the numbers has made me feel a bit better it's not wildly out and unlikely to be the cause of previous MC's I think

@TheBirdintheCave wow 25 that sounds great I hope you get some good ones it all sounds really positive! I know you feel a bit deflated but I think you have great chances. Do they do genetic testing on them to see what ones are potential go ones or no testing?

TheBirdintheCave · 09/05/2023 15:07

@bringmearainbow Nope we couldn't afford that on top of everything else so we could end up with three dud embryos and I'll have no idea.

bunnykins123 · 09/05/2023 15:48

@TheBirdintheCave or you could end up with 3 10/10 embryos! I honestly think you stand a really good chance of one of those being your little rainbow 🌈

@bringmearainbow I do agree. I think for hormones to be a issue in pregnancy, they have to be way off. So I would be reassured by those results too 🤞

FfoxRedN · 09/05/2023 17:03

@bringmearainbow so for being pregnant that figure is within the range they suggest. It's better to be slightly under than slightly over. (Before conception mine was 0.17). As you say I'd be very surprised if this was causing you any issues at all, especially with T4 being in range aswell. It's really reassuring 😊. I imagine previously the MC are just embryos that weren't meant to be, it's just so hard to believe it's just being unlucky though, I totally get it. xx

@TheBirdintheCave my friend had similar, 18 from 38 follicles so a VERY good number!!! Out of those there will absolutely be at least one quality embryo which is all you need 🥰. Don't go anywhere, we're still here to support you, and if you don't want to stick around please come back and tell us when you're ready to transfer. Either way, we're invested in your journey so will be super sad to see you go anywhere xxx

OP posts:
TheBirdintheCave · 09/05/2023 17:21

@FfoxRedN The problem is that they can't tell. Say I get six top grade embryos, the 'bad' ones would be indistinguishable from the one that would develop normally at blastocyst stage. And I only get three/four shots as we can't afford any more goes. So that's four chances of them picking a dud embryo over a good one. The odds aren't great ☹️

I don't want to go anywhere but I don't have any pregnancy or even IVF related things to mention now. My TTC journey is on pause for the time being.

FfoxRedN · 09/05/2023 17:25

@TheBirdintheCave I had a good look at the new research in relation to PGTa (or R) testing and there's suggestion now that probably a good number of good embryos would be discounted because of the selection of cells so actually a lot of clinics don't recommend it anyway unless there's known genetic issues from the parents. Even if you remain neutral and say 50/50 chance of the top quality ones developing correctly which is way above what it actually is statistically, you will still have great odds over a natural cycle where you don't know what body is doing 😘 xx

OP posts:
MrsJGrealish · 09/05/2023 19:52

I'm late. I've DTD once this cycle and 4 days later the gynae had a good hoke about. I'm pretty sure I'm only late because I'm on steroids for this never ending cold. I haven't taken any tests yet. I'm pretty sure DH will be like wtf if it's positive 🙈 @TheBirdintheCave please stay. Keep me sane. I'm not contributing much either but I would miss you too much ❤️

TheBirdintheCave · 09/05/2023 20:42

@MrsJGrealish I'm so sorry you're still ill, what a horrible virus/bug it is ☹️ I'd definitely test if I were you 😘

You guys. KFC forgot the mashed potato in our delivery. I was trying to make myself feel better after a shit day and now I am incandescent! 😡 Poor husband has had to go and drive out to get it and we're not going to get to eat until gone 9 now. 😭

MrsJGrealish · 09/05/2023 20:50

@TheBirdintheCave never ending virus ffs..eh KFC do mashed potato as in Kentucky Fried Chicken mash??
