Please help I’m in a panic chemical pregnancy

Hi everyone

I had a miscarriage 6 weeks ago at 7 weeks, i then got pregnant again before I got a period, I tested on Saturday at 10DPO it was positive, tested at 11DPO only slightly darker if at all, tested yesterday at 12DPO and it was lighter! It wasn’t FMU it was after a coffee at 11am but it definitely wasn’t darker than 10DPO test. I then convinced myself I’m having a chemical pregnancy and have been a wreck, I got a darker result this morning at 13DPO which was reassuring as it was darker than the 10DPO test, but still feel my results are not looking good as there was a drop today and now I’m having back ache and stomach period like cramps. I’m just feeling so devastated that it’s a chemical after just having a loss. I added photos, I had to throw out yesterday’s one as I was obsessing over it and so upset.

I have seen all the posts on here about tests not changing a lot and non of them ended in anything but a chemical.

This was yesterday’s, so stressful I feel like it’s definite now.

Try not to worry OP your 13 dpo test looks great! Like you said if it wasn't fmu on 12 dpo and you had a drink it's probably just a watered down sample you collected. The 12 dpo one is barely lighter than the 11. Try not to panic! I know it's difficult. Best thing to do is just keep calm and retest tomorrow with a strong FMU sample. Stress won't do you any good whatever the outcome. Best of luck 🤞

OP, I mean this kindly, but step away from the tests. You have posted several times about whether it’s a chemical and the reality is no one will know until it’s time for your period.

You have been through a horrible time recently with your loss and worrying about this is more stress for you. I know how desperate you become when you’re TTC but my advice to you is stop doing tests before your period is due. As tempting as it is, I never did early pregnancy tests because I didn’t want to know if I had a chemical. I suspect I had one last month actually but to protect myself from that stress, I waited until the day after my period to test.

Okay, should I now just wait for blood results and get them again in 48 hours or test again when period is due?

When is your period due? As you’re 13 DPO it can’t be too long?

Big hug … it sucks. We over analyse drive our selves max when there is nothing to do but wait it out.

im 11 days post ovulation, very faint positive test. Had a chemical last month and three miscarriages before then. I’m here frantically searching just like you. Don’t have the answer but have some solidarity.

I started on low dose aspirin. It’s not prescribed but I have APS and I can’t wait around to see if it will be another loss.

im confused whether I should take it so sticking to 75 even though the guidance suggests 150….just dreading it

Let me know how you get on, fingers crossed! My doctor won’t give me progesterone even though I desperately want it. If/when I lose this one, I’ll be trying to get it next. I ovulated on day 19-21 so not right. X

I panicked too as my tests looked lighter at 14dpo than they did at 11dpo. I had an early scan on Saturday just gone at 8 weeks and saw the heartbeat and everything was measuring spot on. I know it’s hard but I’d really advise trying to step away from the tests. They cause so much unnecessary stress. Fwiw your tests look really good. Your 13dpo is definitely darker.

This is so encouraging! I needed this. Got bloods today and have sworn not to test again and only rely on blood results now,
preying for it to double. Thanks again for commenting, my pain is stressing me too and no major symptoms.

@Newmama93 this is my third and the only one I’ve been anxious with. I kept getting pains and was so worried about losing or being ectopic. The relief when I saw that scan is indescribable. I know I’m still early but I’ve finally started to get a bit excited and let go of the fear. Fingers crossed for you, my drs won’t do blood tests so I just let the stress eat away at me.

I’ve had non stop pains and also a lighter test yesterday, only hope is that one from this morning. But yes super worried and I wasn’t at all worried like this before I’d experienced a loss, so much so I told everyone at 7 weeks and had to then tell them all I’d miscarried. Awful

The strength of a pregnancy test doesn’t not determine whether it’s a healthy pregnancy or not.

Pregnancy tests are designed to detect traces of HCG, there’s many reasons why a line would appear fainted or more strong at certain a points and losing the pregnancy is much further down the list of reasons than anything else such as how diluted your urine is, time of day, now much you pee on the stick, how much hormone manages to catch onto the line..

You are pregnant now. If you experience pain or bleeding go to A&E to get checked. Other than that, try to enjoy it.. easier said that done with a history of miscarriage I know. But stress won’t do any good.

im getting very bad cramping and lower back pain. Very early to be getting any of these symptoms, but my hopes have been dashed.

Ive had this go both ways. 2 times it was bad news but this pregnancy, I was convinced I was having a chemical on 13 and 14 DPO but somehow the line recovered by 15 DPO. Still don’t understand what happened but I’m nearly 19 weeks now.

I’ve had back pains too! Don’t lose hope yet. Have you had bloods/what are your tests like?

Amazing! I can imagine you panicked at first, thanks so much for sharing. This is a bit like mine and I haven’t been game enough to test again yet. I will tomorrow FMU and then I think I’ll have my answer.

@Newmama93 good luck, I hope it’s a good outcome for you too! I actually had my blood drawn to check beta HCG on 15 DPO and it was only 57. It the went up to 158 at 17 DPO. It must have been very low and hence multiplying so slowly in the beginning.

waiting for an early scan date which nurse said will be week 6….seems a lifetime away

My 16dpo, haven’t tested again yet and have a phone call with the doctor in 2 hours with the second blood results from yesterday. Fingers crossed, still bad cramps, no bleeding. Not hopeful
