7dpo bleeding but NOT implantation

Hi everyone,

I am hoping to find someone who may have experienced something similar as I am at a loss. We started TTC 3 months ago. I can pinpoint ovulation through OPK and tracking temp. Roughly 7DPO I get bleeding which I initially thought was implantation bleeding but I’ve not had any BFP. The bleeding comes the same time every cycle, lasts for about a week on and off (not enough to fill a pad but can have sudden gushes that leak through my underwear and some clotting - usually dark brown) and then finishes and my periods comes. It’s definitely not my period as my BBT remains elevated and it’s on and off - my period is always on time and lasts 5 days with no on/off. This cycle I had very bad cramps with the bleeding too - I never normally have bad cramps. This literally only started when TTC and it’s clearly not implantation, and it’s been 3 cycles in a row so it’s not a one off. I’ve had my progesterone tested and my levels came back as normal. Not been on hormonal birth control in years, I eat clean, am a healthy weight and regularly exercise. Any help would be SO much appreciated- I am losing my mind! Thank you xxx

I'm so sorry to hear that @HollyP21 . That must be devastating to hear. Is private an option? Is there anything that can be done to help your fertility in the mean time?

Mushroo · 26/04/2023 16:29

@HollyP21 Im so sorry it wasn’t better news for you and that it’s not an easy fix.

Bad news is never easy, i hope you’ve got good support in place whilst you reflect and understand next steps.

I know it’s easy to say but low chance is not no chance so you never know. Thinking of you x

Piglet34 · 26/04/2023 19:11

@HollyP21 I am so so sorry to hear about your results, it must be so hard to process the news, I hope you are okay and have people around you to take your mind off it as much as poss 💕 feel free to talk to us and vent if you need xxxx

HollyP21 · 26/04/2023 19:14

@Piglet34 @Mushroo @Un7breakable thank you all for your kind words. ❤️ It's really really difficult. But there are definitely success stories so got to try and stay positive.

Will keep you all updated when I next see the doctor about next steps xxx

Just an update. Dr spoke to gyne who said to refer. 3 month wait until appointment so not bad compared to what others have had. We're considering if we go private as DP was shocked by wait but I worry if we go private we'd have issues getting back on NHS for anything additional and also fertility if we need it. Getting thyroid retested privately next week to rule that out.

Mushroo · 04/05/2023 20:19

@Un7breakable thats progress at least, and 3 months isn’t awful, hopefully will go quite quickly.

You could always start looking at private and not tell the NHS yet?

You also just never know in the meantime!

Un7breakable · 04/05/2023 20:22

@Mushroo I'm okay with three months tbh it was DP who was agast. I've got my fingers crossed, although o say today and we're both I'll so no BDing. Not sure there's any point tomorrow.

Piglet34 · 04/05/2023 20:42

@Un7breakable I just went private for a scan and consultation and they are now referring me back to NHS GP for potential more tests, so defs going private isn't a blocker for NHS treatment going forward I don't think ☺️ sorry don't know if that's helpful!

Update from me I'm 7dpo now and no spotting yet and usually it is bang on 6dpo so either the cervix treatment for the ectropion made the difference or it's just different this cycle who knows! My ultrasound scan said everything is normal apart from my left ovary which has a cyst (she said potential endo) and looks like it's folded round attached to the back of my uterus. So not great but at least right ovary and womb is okay and I also got my AMH blood results back and my reserve is quite high (31.5) so feel better that I have time on my side at least

Piglet34 · 11/05/2023 16:36

Hey guys, just thought I would update the thread with some hope and also incase anyone sees it in future, I got my bfp yesterday! 🥰 I didn't spot any dark brown this cycle like I always do (but no way to know whether it's because of the cervical erosion treatment or because I was preg). But I have had a few dots of pale pink spotting here and there (even after the bfp which does worry me, although none today so far..) also had orange spotting on what I think was implantation day.

After my ultrasound the other day it sounds like one of my ovaries is definitely not good but this still happened so there is always hope 💕 sending well wishes to you all xxx

Mushroo · 11/05/2023 16:41

@Piglet34 amazing news!! So pleased for you!

Similarly, if it helps, when I got my BFP I had pink spotting all through week 4, it was terrifying and I was convinced it was a chemical. It stopped and then randomly had spotting one wipe at 5w+6.

I’m now 7 weeks and although I’ve not had a scan yet, everything seems normal (touch wood) so spotting early on seems to be ok.

Piglet34 · 11/05/2023 17:01

@Mushroo thanks so much for the reassurance and glad yours is going well so far ! 🥰

Un7breakable · 11/05/2023 17:36

Congratulations @Piglet34 and glad it's going well @Mushroo

Lollywhite · 19/05/2023 09:06

Hi everyone just jumping on to update.. yesterday at 19dpo I got my BFP! I’m actually in shock after coming of the injection in 2021 it took 7 month for my periods to come back then over 12 month of trying I spent a fortune on clear blue OPK monthly, and truthfully think they really stressing me out.. this was my first month using Ovusense xx

Mushroo · 19/05/2023 09:24

@Lollywhite amazing news! Huge congratulations 🎉

Un7breakable · 19/05/2023 20:04

@Lollywhite congratulations. Did you have any spotting this month?

Lollywhite · 19/05/2023 20:43

@Mushroo thankyou!
@Un7breakable thankyou.. no none at all suprisingly was really expecting it but did notice ewcm when my temp dipped before ovulation! Xx

Piglet34 · 20/05/2023 13:16

Aww massive congratulations @Lollywhite 🥰🥳

HollyP21 · 29/06/2023 06:22

Hi all,

Just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing?

After I last updated, I had my stage 4 endo diagnosed, plus adenomyosis in my uterus, and potential hydrosalpinx, plus large endometriomas in my ovaries, plus polyp in my uterus and cervical ectropian. And until I started TTC I had absolutely no symptoms of these. So if anyone is reading this thread and has the same bleeding during TTc - definitely persist in checks!! MRI was the one for me.

I have my surgery booked for this week to get rid of it all and then the plan was to start IVF but by some miracle I got my BFP this week!! It's really early to get excited as obviously I've got so many problems going on inside and it's high risk, but it's a step in the right direction! Got more bloods this week and a scan at 7 weeks xxx

@HollyP21 omg!!! Genuinely made up for you! Congratulations!

You must be thrilled 😄

Un7breakable · 29/06/2023 07:26

@HollyP21 congratulations

Mushroo · 29/06/2023 07:33

Also meant to say if you have light spotting this week / next try not to worry, it happened to me and whilst terrifying all turned out fine (so far - now 14 weeks!)

HollyP21 · 29/06/2023 07:53

@Mushroo @Un7breakable thank you both!! And definitely good to know about the spotting. I'm on edge with every little symptom or feeling at the moment! Still very early days, but just a few days ago I was facing the prospect of having both my tubes removed so this is a massive positive whatever happens! Xxx

@HollyP21 awww massive congratulations, am so happy for you!! 🥰 and yeah agree with what @Mushroo said about spotting, I also had it until like week 8 but seems to have gone now. Wishing you a healthy pregnancy! xx

Lana32 · 30/06/2023 11:40

@HollyP21 Amazing news - massive congratulations to you!

Completely agree with what @Mushroo and @Piglet34 have said regarding spotting. I had some spotting the week I got my BFP and worked myself up massively about it, but have had nothing since and all scans have showed no bleeding and a healthy baby so far (currently 16 weeks)!

I know it’s really tough for the first few weeks but try to relax as much as possible! Wishing you well in your pregnancy journey! Xx

HollyP21 · 02/07/2023 13:32

@Lana32 thank you so much for your well wishes ❤️❤️❤️ defo good to know about the spotting! Going to try to relax as much as possible about the symptoms at the moment. I'm even panicking that I'm not having enough symptoms! Xxx
