I'm already out of the October 2023 window so if anyone is in the same boat, join along

@Maxime34 have you tried the clear blue ovulation tests? I found they took a lot of the guesswork out for me and I plan on getting more to do next month alongside the strips

Tophy124 · 12/02/2023 15:58

Here’s all the tests I was talking about. The blue is an LH strip test so ignore that it was just for comparison.

The bottom 2 are from this morning. First one was dipped in a cup and second was urine stream. All the ones with lines above were yesterday and also all urine stream so I wonder if I ‘flooded’ the tests? The cup method has led to stark whites so I’m confused!! Potentially just dye run off from urine stream or potentially just a cp I’ve caught super early!!

@Tophy124 so weird, i swear i can see something on the very bottom one, or is that what people call indents? Sorry i cant help much more. In the 10 cycles ive been ttc ive only done about 3 tests (2 frers and one cheapie) so i havent first hand experience of indents

OP posts:
Tophy124 · 12/02/2023 19:33

@NatGee I think it’s a dye run as apparently if you pee on these tests it’s possible to ‘flood them’ and so they recommend for these peeing in a cup and then dipping. When I did that I got a stark white! So confusing.

Floralsandsmiles · 12/02/2023 19:43

Hi all! Please can I join? I'm CD6 and I'm supposed to ovulate on CD14. I am now tracking via ovulation tests and BBT. However I feel like I didn't have a proper period this month and was mainly spotting over the 5 days. Normally I have 1 (sometimes 2) very heavy days. So this is weird! Also my stomach is so painful like I have constipation and trapped wind.
I'm worried this was not a normal cycle for me and it will effect my ovulation day on CD14? What do you all think? Xx

MilkyAndFluffy · 12/02/2023 20:16

@Maxime34 sooo glad to hear yous are having much more fun with it this month - hopefully that means it’ll be your month as it’s been less pressure! It’s annoying you don’t know if you’ve ovulated or not, but I do think it’s a good thing you’ve not been as obsessive over doing them, sometimes it works in your favour eeek! I’ve been similar, ran out of strip tests so didn’t buy anymore so I’ve not tracked the surge this month, I’ve felt much more chill and DTD has been much more natural and we’ve had a better time, we’ve only DTD 3 times during my guessed-fertile period but it only takes one time doesn’t it so I’m hoping it’s enough. Other half has felt much less stressed with me not knowing the exact day I got the surge, I’ve not been like ‘we need to do it today’ and I think that’s helped him. I just hope we’ve covered the day we needed and i feel a little out of control not knowing when my surge was/is….. yet again sounds like we’ve ended up in the exact same boat!! Haha 😚

let us know if you get your surge in the next few days, what CD are you on? Are you 14 today? Im CD16 today and just gonna guess I ovulated yesterday. I’ve just ordered some more FRER tests at the ready, nothing like being keen is there? Now the dreaded TWW…. Hellllllppppp! When do you go away?? X

MilkyAndFluffy · 12/02/2023 20:18

@Tophy124 sending you love hun, I can’t imagine getting a positive and questioning it and then getting negatives. You aren’t out until AF arrives, I have everything crossed for you. 9dpo sounds early even for a FRER so I’ll keep hope for you but I do think the other tests were indents or flood lines, just because the FRER is more sensitive out of the two x

MilkyAndFluffy · 12/02/2023 20:22

@Floralsandsmiles hey lovely, it’s a hard one when it’s different for your ‘normal’, but to try and ease your mind ever since coming off the pill I’ve had super light periods all 4 days long and I was concerned at first but based on the ovulation strip tests from prior months I’ve always ovulated around day 15. Keep on with the tests and let us know how you get on x

Thank you @MilkyAndFluffy that's reassuring. I will continue to track everyday to ensure I don't miss the window. Aside from the light period, is the constipation and trapped wind like pain normal? I mean directly after a period? Honestly so weird for me. I'm a regular girl, so its not normal for me.. xxx

MilkyAndFluffy · 12/02/2023 20:41

@Floralsandsmiles i totally get what you mean when you are usually so regular, as soon as something slips up it’s so obvious to you and then overthink something is wrong. Can I be nosey and ask if anything has been different in the last few weeks e.g. have you changed what sort of tablets/vitamins you take or dramatically changed weight etc? I know those can have a big impact on changing your cycle so it’s worth an ask! Hmm - havent ever heard of those symptoms right after a period, maybe one of the other girls in this thread have. But again, has there been any changes to your diet or anything? I know if I’ve had an indulgent weekend of treats / extra bread or takeaways my stomach pays the price. That’s the only thing I could think of. It’s sooo frustrating. Did you do a pregnancy test last month just to rule that out? Xx

Thanks so much for your reply again @MilkyAndFluffyMilkyAndFluffy !
Yes! I started taking all my supplements this month!
So now I'm taking folic acid, coq10, DHA, magnesium, zinc and calcium 😊 do you think any of those have contributed?
No changes to diet, but I don't think I've drunk as much water as I should be, which sometimes doesn't help. I didn't do a pregnancy test last month no, but being on time with light period I assumed that wasn't the case. Maybe worth doing a quick one in the morning to rule out.. xxx

MilkyAndFluffy · 12/02/2023 21:54

@Floralsandsmiles im honestly not sure, the first month I started taking pregnacare conception vitamins I read so many ladies on here saying they heard they can mess with your cycle, but from my in depth google search I didn’t really find anything to back those comments up, I did stop taking them and started taking folic acid only just because I was really overthinking and then the next month my cycles seemed to regulate. But I do think that was a coincidence to be honest! I’d keep going with your ovulation tests and fingers crossed you get your surge as normal. So sorry I can’t be more help! But I do feel your pain hun. It might be worth doing one just so you are 100% with it being a super super light period. It may have just been a nice light period for you; but it gets us so worried doesn’t it xxx

@MilkyAndFluffy thank you! You have been more than helpful! Quiets my mind that supplements aren't bad and should stop...Will just play it by ear and hope that my surge comes as it should! Thank you! Xxxx

@Floralsandsmiles keep us posted lovely 🙏xxxx

Mushroo · 12/02/2023 22:14

Not strictly relevant to this thread but can anyone help?

I joined off the back off the October thread as AF appeared to be arriving on Friday as I had lots of spotting.

AF was due today (based on my usual cycle length and when I ovulated) and nothing! My BBT is still really high but I’ve tested and all BFN.

I have a cold, can that delay AF? I wish it was more straightforward!

ScrantonDunderMifflin · 12/02/2023 22:15

@Tophy124 I see a line even in the bottom one! Given it's 9DPO, I wouldn't lose hope!

P.s. when my original message said 'they were stark white in the months we didn't TTC ', I meant the months we didn't conceive.

SaltedChoco · 13/02/2023 11:41

4th day of a flashing smiley today. Getting really annoyed with myself, I just want that static!! Donor has said he can come (haha) twice if it's this week, on the day I get the static, and the day after. I've read about people on here getting 10 days of flashing which I really hope doesn't happen to me! I'm on CD15 now.

SaltedChoco · 13/02/2023 11:42

What happens if I don't get the surge/static. Will it just stop flashing? Is that how I'll know? I swear the CB instructions don't make it simple to understand. They also call it 'making love' throughout them too 🙄

Gloopyhoop · 13/02/2023 11:44

Hi all! 7dpo today. Convinced I could see something on a frer today but I think I'm just hoping too much! Last time I got a shadow @ 8dpo then a faint (but there) positive the next morning. We only BD'd the day before ov and the day of sooo 🤞

NervousNoo · 13/02/2023 12:03

@Maxime34 I'm the same my surge comes out of nowhere. First couple of months that I used OPKs I was convinced I wasn't ovulating because I never got a surge but the next month I started testing twice a day and ever since it came like clockwork on the evening of CD 10. Still no surge but I'm now convinced I got it as normal on day 10 but just missed it on tests (I wasn't able to test at my usual times because of other plans). I got all my usual ovulation symptoms, cramp EWCM etc exactly as expected so trying not to focus too much on the lack of a surge. Really trying to take this month in a more chilled sort of way. We've been DTD roughly every second day anyway so we'll have caught it whenever it was.

NatGee · 13/02/2023 12:26

@SaltedChoco hang in there, your peak must be right round the corner. As long as your estrogen remains elevated but not your Lh itll continue flashing. If you don't get your static, it should revert back to a blank circle which may mean you never got an LH surge, hopefully that won't happen but don't think about that, more likely than not you will get a surge. So when you finally get your static, the device will lock for 48 hours. That's the downside of the sticks, is you won't know exactly when youve peaked but should be OK if you;re willing to work with a two day range.

Sierra26 · 13/02/2023 13:23

@SaltedChocohang in there! im on cycle 3 of the CBAD, CD13. Started testing on CD8 each time, and here’s how mine have worked…

month 1 - 1 day empty circle, 7 days flashing smiley before static

month 2 - 1 day empty circle, 3 days flashing before static

month 3 - 3 days empty, now on day 3 of flashing, awaiting that static but think it’s still a couple of days away.

I use the easy@home strips alongside as they’re cheap and I start doing two per day when I think I’m close. So if they start to darken I can do an extra CBAD in PM and catch/confirm the surge a bit earlier. I’m also starting to be able to tell when Im 24hrs from surge due to random cramps I think I’d thought were wind all these years until now 🤣

JSP21 · 13/02/2023 13:40

I am so confused with what is going on with my body!

I’m still breastfeeding my 15 month old milk monster but my periods have been back for 6 months, ranging from 25 - 31days.

This cycle is cycle 2 of ttc n2. I had a static smiley face on cd10 (earlier than I thought it would be). We dtd several times in the days around the static smiley face.

Today is now cd18. I’ve had severe nausea, needed bathroom 256000 times and I’ve had bleeding. The bleeding was red for a couple of hours and heavier than I’d expect for implantation bleeding (didn’t have this last pregnancy). It’s now less and brown.

Has my period come ridiculously early and coincided with a uti? If my cycle is now 17/18 days, will it even be possible to get pregnant again?

I guess I’ll find out soon enough but I hate the waiting around.

Gloopyhoop · 13/02/2023 14:21

@JSP21 I wish I could give you an answer but I really hope you don't have a UTI (they're the worst!!) & it all works out 🤗

Tophy124 · 13/02/2023 14:48

Thanks all!! I’m going to try and wait it out till AF shows as I’m not sure I can handle all the back and forth testing and getting my hopes up.

We only BD ONCE this month, 2 days before I ovulated so it would be a miraculous conception as I have stage 4 endo. I’m meant to be getting a HSG soon but keep delaying it!! Going for a root canal today as I read online they are fine if you are pregnant and I had one drink last night as I can’t keep acting like I’m pregnant each month, it’s driving me insane!! Fun story: we tried for my now 2yr old for MONTHS and I was about to go for another endo surgery, so decided to get my wisdom teeth pulled and went on a friends hen as there was no way id be pregnant that month right? Well my surgery got cancelled as he was in my belly!!

If anyone wants us to cast line eyes please post the tests!!
