@calimc83 are you on our Facebook group? I could show you the mass of wax the consultant suctioned from her ears 🙈 she dealt with it well. She was so relieved to hear again. DS1 had a rare condition that caused a benign tumour to erode his inner ear bones. If we hadn't been on holiday and the ear got infected we would be none the wiser till he developed meningitis😩 his consultant actually freaked me out more but I think they have to tell you worst case scenario

@TheBirdintheCave Difflam spray for the throat (can be bought otc), paracetamol (which you are taking) and clarithromycin if penicillin allergic

@bringmearainbow grr does DH leave to go away today then? Even if you can’t fit in another dtd. You still in with a chance. But so hard not to feel disheartened. Cos you try to make sure all bases are covered I know.

Ive had my ears syringes a few times. I always get waxy years yum 😂😂 but that was when Docters wait for nurses to do it wasn’t so long. I have to make sure I done get water in them as that seems to block it up 🤷🏻‍♀️🙈

@calimc83 37 weeks 😱 have they given you your date for ELCS yet? I’m seeing consultant Monday so not sure if I’m getting mine then..or I’ll have to wait until 36.

I am sooo tired atm. Midwife said my bloods showed my iron is low again. I’ve had issues with it ever since my DD was born and I refused a transfusion…So perhaps explains while I feel so lethargic atm.
gonna start trying to take feroglobin tablets avain. As only thing that don’t block me up the other end 🙈🙈

I'm currently waiting to see a doctor. Already been told by a triage nurse that she's seen worse so that's just reinforced the idea that I'm wasting everyone's time and that I shouldn't be here.

@calimc83 Just potential strep throat. Hopefully I just need antibiotics.

@TheBirdintheCave urgh I had strep throat last year it was vile, luckily the antibiotics worked really quickly once I got them. And you absolutely do need antibiotics for strep throat so you are not wasting anybody’s time! That’s what urgent care are for, it’s not like you’ve rocked up to a&e

@LuckyMoonstone Hopefully they work quick for me too 🙏🏻 No idea what this will do to ovulation. Such shit timing. I guess it either won't happen for a while now or it happened when I had that control dark test last Sunday.

Validated by the doctor who said 'Oh wow that's quite bad isn't it!' Take that triage nurse 🙄

I posted this in the FB group and just re-posting here....

I thought long and hard about posting and where to post (obviously I didn’t want to go near that thread). I wanted more people to read it than would have done if I’d posted here (but hopefully not the poor lady herself), and just, I dunno, wanted to show that the reality of a child with DS isn’t all doom and gloom. It was hard reading the “life can be so cruel” responses on that thread, but the worst thing was reading what the nurse had to say to her following the NIPT result:
“The nurse said there’s no way of knowing the severity before birth. 50% have heart problems. 60% who reach 50 will have Alzheimer’s. She could need 24 hour care potentially and we can’t know that in advance.” It’s 2023, there are so many possibilities for our children (just look at George on CBeebies!) and yet antenatally, women are still presented with the worst case scenarios 💔.

I have my penicillin now and am finally on the sofa again under a blanket 😁 Dr said as I don't have tonsils to clear the strep from I only have to be on it for three days 🙏🏻

@TheBirdintheCave loving all our DHs looking after us 🥰 we got good ones 😊 I know of 2 people that died from strep A. Getting on top of it early is not a bad thing xx

@MrsJGrealish He is just the best. We really did luck out. You read so many stories on Mumsnet from women whose husbands are so awful.
