@bunnykins123 great that everything is going well :) bet you're excited for your 12 week one now. I can't wait to get to mine!

bringmearainbow · 02/02/2023 10:18

@TheBirdintheCave oh wow that's amazing news but what a big spanner that's been thrown 🙈 could you give yourself a time frame so if nothings happened in 6 months you go for ivf?

TheBirdintheCave · 02/02/2023 10:22

@bringmearainbow In six months time I'll be nearly 37 though and in the mean time the gap between my son and a sibling is just getting bigger and bigger. I just don't feel like I have any time left to waste on trying naturally x__x

I just wanted to be told 'Yes you need IVF let's do that.' 🙄

bringmearainbow · 02/02/2023 10:27

@TheBirdintheCave I get it I'll be 38 this year and that clock feels like it's ticking ticking ticking 😩 maybe shorten it a bit then to 2/3 months and in that time you could really clean everything up so no alcohol better diet exercise etc and if after the few months nothing then spend the money

TheBirdintheCave · 02/02/2023 10:32

@bringmearainbow Yeah I think that's the way I'm leaning right now. Call this cycle one and then try February/March and March/April and if we get nothing then on to IVF. Maybe we could even start the blood tests and everything in March/April so that if it doesn't work that cycle we're all ready to start the IVF when I get my AF.

monsteramunch · 02/02/2023 10:42

Wow wow wow @TheBirdintheCave nobody was expecting that!! So much positivity to take from it though!

I know what you mean about in a weird way just wanting them to say yes it's not going to happen because xyz so let's get cracking with the alternative plan.

We're TTC#1 and I just turned 36 so totally get the pressure time ticking wise, it's a rubbish added stress to throw in the mix!

But all in all what a positive appointment compared to how it could have gone Flowers

TheBirdintheCave · 02/02/2023 10:52

@monsteramunch I'm really blown away by those numbers. No idea what the magic thing was that helped but hopefully if we keep on going as we are then his sperm will stay the same.

And yeah, I feel more optimistic about the odds of a natural pregnancy now but I know it could still take months... even with the magic of the Ferti-lily 😅

monsteramunch · 02/02/2023 11:02

It really is amazing @TheBirdintheCave !

Has he had a huge diet overhaul / gym regime or anything? Just curious. We're doing everything right on paper healthy living wise but maybe there's something we haven't thought of so wondered if you could share your wizardry 😂

pangolin84 · 02/02/2023 11:12

Oh wow @TheBirdintheCave you just seem to keep coming up with surprises!
That’s got to be good news, although I do get the frustration at being told you should probably just keep trying. It feels like you have no control.

I took my digital this morning and it said 2-3 weeks, which is great. I just don’t feel pregnant at all!

TheBirdintheCave · 02/02/2023 11:32

@pangolin84 Hooray for the 2-3 weeks! Looks like things are progressing nicely :D And yes, mine is somewhat of a roller coaster of a journey 😂

@monsteramunch For the last month I've had him on Proceive Plus sachets and high strength vitamin d. I've also made sure he's been... clearing the pipes... every other day. Before that for a year he was on selenium, Pregnacare men's conception vitamins, vitamin c and cod liver oil but we had no sperm analysis done for him last year so not sure when the change happened. No alterations to diet or exercise. If anything we do less exercise than we did when we were trying for our son 😅

Indianna2006 · 02/02/2023 13:08

@bunnykins123 how exciting 🥰🥰 hope the next 12 week one comes quickly for you.

@TheBirdintheCave ahh that’s such good news! I think it’s only ever a snapshot as well. Like two year ago motility can be low but it can change so nothing is ever certain.
overall I think it’s very good news. And it’s a personal choice you have to make isn’t it. I think with those odds and numbers I would keep going naturally. As it likely is just bad luck. As IVF is still no gurantee is it. And it’s a lot of money with still no gurantee that it would neccesarily be any faster than natural. With stim cycles and people being overstimulated and having to postpone to wait for frozen transfers. IVF is not a magic pill either.
Without anything wrong as such to conceive natural keep going with the ferti Lily 🥰🥰 I think next time might just be the lucky one 🤞🏼
hopefuly that’s raised your spirits as but that each month there is DEFF a chance

@calimc83 wow as if you finish work so soon. I have about 7/8 weeks left. But am trying to get more sorted now.
yes think I will be having ELCS too due to previous bad birth. Altho seeing midwife and she seems me this lovely birth idea and I keep humming and harring. Wish it just arrived in a basket on the door tbh 🤣🤣🤞🏼

@pangolin84 good news about the digital 😁 those symptoms will soon come I’m sure 🤢

bringmearainbow · 02/02/2023 13:09

@pangolin84 whoop whoop that's awesome! Have you rung EPU at all to see if they might monitor you?

So obv I'm not symptom spotting 😂 lol who am I kidding of course I am symptom spotting. Tuesday cm had dried up and just had a bit of creamy cm yesterday and today I've got very watery creamy cm and soz but it so wet 🤷🏼‍♀️ usually I get a bit dry and maybe a bit of sticky creamy cm. Sorry I hope I don't drive you all mad I need to do something to keep me a little sane 😳

TheBirdintheCave · 02/02/2023 13:20

@bringmearainbow Haha I've been having exactly the same situation yesterday and today 😂

bringmearainbow · 02/02/2023 13:21

@TheBirdintheCave weird isn't it it's a new one for me 😂

Happinessandrainbows · 02/02/2023 13:23

@pangolin84 I never had any symptoms. It is totally normal for something like 20-30% of women to have no symptoms. I also know someone who had really bad symptoms with DC1 and nothing at all with DC2.
Don't let this stress you out 😘

bunnykins123 · 02/02/2023 16:26

@pangolin84 my symptoms didn't really begin until about 5-6 weeks mark. Even then they came and went massively. I don't think symptoms are an indicator of much. I know it's easier said than done, but try not to worry about symptoms 💕

@TheBirdintheCave thanks lovely! I've just read your update - completely understand how you feel when they tell you all is tickety boo. I probably would echo what they said and keep trying a bit longer - my clinic advised the same. One thing I would fully recommend is getting your NK cells checked if you haven't already. There are options to go through the NHS (albeit it might take a while) or go privately but I wish I'd done it sooner. I fully believe the hydroxy meds are the reason I am where I am today.

@bringmearainbow it is rubbish. It's the not knowing that makes it so hard. I wish we could develop a test that tells us as soon as O is done and dusted whether it worked or not!

@LuckyMoonstone @Indianna2006 thanks lovelies 💕

TheBirdintheCave · 02/02/2023 18:21

@bunnykins123 I don't think our clinic does tests re NK cells as they only recommended more blood tests to me in terms of recurrent miscarriage investigation 🤷🏻‍♀️

...

Just done some reading into our report and my endometrial thickness (6.1mm at 3dpo) is seemingly too thin for implantation so it looks like it won't be happening for us this cycle :( It's not something I'd even considered 🤦🏻‍♀️ I wish they'd say these things at the time of the scan.

monsteramunch · 02/02/2023 18:30

Gosh @TheBirdintheCave all these things we never even realise are factors until we're told about them. It's honestly a wonder anyone ever gets pregnant, ever!

Are these next steps all at the fertility clinic your GP has referred you to? Sorry if I've got muddled.

MrsJGrealish · 02/02/2023 18:33

@TheBirdintheCave can they improve this by progesterone? Just a general wondering..🧐

TheBirdintheCave · 02/02/2023 18:49

@MrsJGrealish I'm not sure. I do have some left over which I was planning to take if I got a bfp. I'll have to do more research.

@monsteramunch We skipped the GP step and just went straight to the private clinic to have their starter tests and now IVF or keep trying with additional tests re recurrent miscarriage is what they've suggested :)

FfayeN · 02/02/2023 19:59

@TheBirdintheCave it's a good update! There are always questions but if I remember rightly you were really concerned with DHs results so knowing they've improved that much is great news!
How thick does the lining need to be at 3DPO? Implantation occurs at 7-9DPO normally so is there time for it to thicken up?
I know some clinics are less fussed about thickness as such. Mine was 10mm at 7DPO and he said that was fine. I'll have a read up too ☺️.
It's frustrating but I think you're in a good position to keep trying whilst you make your final decisions 🥰🥰🥰🙏🏼 xxx

FfayeN · 02/02/2023 20:08

@TheBirdintheCave apparently exercise is the best thing to improve it. Not what you wanna hear 🤣😅 xx

OP posts:
TheBirdintheCave · 02/02/2023 20:53

@FfayeN I think it does thicken over time so hopefully there might still be a small chance. The doctor made no mention of it not being thick enough during the scan so I'm a bit confused 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm having a read to see what different clinics like the lining to be.

pangolin84 · 02/02/2023 21:09

Thanks for all the reassuring words everyone. It’s really helped.

FfayeN · 02/02/2023 21:10

@TheBirdintheCave it's not something insurmountable if it is that, and I am sure it can change one cycle to the next 🥰. It is positive though, I have such hope for your next one 🙏🏼 xx
