BEMY, I am the same with fruit! Really have to force myself to eat eat, even the 'nice' fruits like strawberries! OK-ish with veg!
NJ - hope you enjoy the assembly and stay awake! Know what you mean about sleep - sometimes the more you get the more you need iyswim!
Enjoy your shopping trip Kay! Is this for your healthy-food supply?
Right, school run!

BeMyLilBaby · 08/02/2008 08:32

Can you all recommend the Nicer fruits to eat? i think half my prob is psychological really, im gonna really try, but any recommedations greatly recieved!

NatalieJane · 08/02/2008 08:47

Grapes, melon, satsumas, strawberries, blackberries, apples, (cold granny smiths out of the fridge mmmmm) stewed rhubarb, pears, bananas, all the sweet ones

BeMyLilBaby · 08/02/2008 08:50

i think i will try grapes small triumphs lol

NatalieJane · 08/02/2008 09:43

White seedless grapes out of the fridge, they are yummy

So DS1 got his award (and another bottle of bubbles as a prize!) and DS2 spent the whole time either chomping raison's or calling out 'Baba' (what he calls DS1!) all through the whole Lent speech and the praying....

Think I might go and have a kip, I am struggling to keep my eyes open, I am never like this, I'm not used to feeling tired! Even all through the new born stage and BF every 2 hours for the best part of 11 months I wasn't as tired as this, it is ridiculous, and even more because I am getting more sleep now than I think I ever have in my whole life!

Anyway, be good girls! Do not want to come back having missed conversations about bondage and lesbian sex OK?!!!

See you all in a bit xxx

Diege · 08/02/2008 10:03

How strange - just brought a bowl of white seedless grapes over to the computer to read discussion! Spooky!
NJ, you don't think this tiredness is a symptom now do you??

Teuch · 08/02/2008 10:13

Just what I was thinking Diege...

I am also rubbish with fruit, but I find that the more I eat, the more I can stomach it IFKWIM?

We bit banana on my breakfast cereal (I hate the first mouthful but is quite nice after that!), chopped up apple (I hate biting into apples/pears), grapes are lovely...

You could try incorporating more fruit/veg into cooking - warm mango with spiced chicken breat is delish, or I just chuck extra veg into everything (makes spag bol/chilli/curries and casseroles very interesting...).

Oh, and my top tip is nice, healthy dips...I actually do like dipping crudites into things

D'you think apple pie counts? With that nice thick ready made fresh custard??

NatalieJane · 08/02/2008 11:07

No, no syptom spotting going on here, I do have an implantation bleed though LOL

Didn't sleep so guess I'm not actually tired, spent the whole time looking at baby catalogues It's a hard life

Might get an early lunch, am starving, got nice thick fresh bread might toast it with marmite mmmmm or I have got some toasted tea cakes..... can't decide.

Diege · 08/02/2008 11:22

Oooh starving too, a symptom, no?

BeMyLilBaby · 08/02/2008 11:32

Diege · 08/02/2008 11:58

. My dh has no chance...did it on Wed, so if I do it tonight it will set a precedent (ie, every other day, and I can't be doing with that!). You can tell I'm old and knackered!

NatalieJane · 08/02/2008 12:07

Tut Diege, I can see TTC is going to be almost as fun on here as it is with DH I am gonna stand no chance with you around!

I did the marmite on toast option, with a coffee, might as well make the most of it

BB, look at you, you part timer Monday off now early finishes! And very of your GOF, wish I was getting some! Gone are the days where we carry on no matter what AF is up to!! Have a good weekend xxx

I wouldn't even mind if it was every other day.....

Diege · 08/02/2008 13:46

Sounds like you're getting a lot NJ!! . I know things will have to change soon, but at the moment I am so tired with working long hours and looking after 3 under 6's that dh is lucky to get it onece/twice a week . He won't know what's hit him come April/May . No doubt he will feel used, but hey I'm sure he won't be complaining!
A minor dilemma that you might be able to advise on. Nothing as exciting as pube-talk I'm afriad. Ok, I love shopping and I love my clothes. Come Feb/March I'm already getting bits and pieces for summer. Now, the dilemma is should I wait in case I'm pregnant this summer? I don't want to go down the route of getting things that might 'expand', as I'm petite and they look ridiculous! But then I do get an early bump..Or should I just carry on as normal? Am I crazy to even be worrying about clothes?

NatalieJane · 08/02/2008 14:02

No I have the same problem (not the sex, or lack of, but the clothes! )

I did get some slightly less wintery tops last week for spring-ish time, but if I get pregnant as quickly as as I did with DS2, then by June time I will be in full blown maternity stuff.

I figured if I buy some like basic summer tops (you know the type plain vest tops etc.) then if I don't use them this year then I can use them next year, so I can't see the harm in that. I won't be buying any 'fashionable' tops or trousers/skirts/dresses for summer just yet, will wait and see what happens re. pregnant or not.

Diege · 08/02/2008 14:13

Yes, that's a good idea about basics. I do love some things that would seem to suit being pregnant (ie, maxi dresses) but usually wear with wide belt, and wouln't 'look right'! TBH I have lots left from last year that didn't get worn because of the crap weather, but all quite fitted (eg. shift dresses). Hey, at least I can stock up on shoes and bags!!!
Last pregnancy I loved Isabella Oliver (got a few bits - some of their tops are great) but never did find that perfect pair of maternity jeans (I go for under the bump, but ended up hitching them up every few steps!). Oooh I LOVE pregnancy clothes!

When I was pg with DS1 they didn't do under the bump clothes, so when I was having DS2 I tried some, did the same as you yanking them up everytime I moved (or breathed ) and I found when I sat down they really dug into the bottom of my bump, and on top of all of that when I got bigger and my maternity tops weren't long enough to cover the bump I'd have a gap. Hated them.

In fact I only wore them when I had absolutely nothing else to put on. All my other's were proper nice big elasticated pouch right up to my boobs Loved it

The jeans I practiaclly lived in last time were just some cheapies from Debenhams, I think they were only £35 or there about's and they were great And I did have some nice white cropped trousers (I'm not making them sound very nice am I? They were, honestly!) from Gap, (well Old Navy) they were very comfortable, but again weather was crap so I couldn't wear them very often, I used to shove them on when I got out of the bath, which at my worst point was about 6 times a day!!

Debenham's do nice tops as well, they were the only ones I had that still covered my gigantic bump at full term.

NatalieJane · 08/02/2008 14:23

LOL GJ, everyone is getting some except me and DH

I don't do early stages, I am either not pregnant or fat and pregnant! I literally wake up at some point around 6 weeks with a very pregnant belly.

Diege · 08/02/2008 15:56

Same here, no early stages just little bump from 10 weeks or so (except when pregnant with dd1, when flat till 24 weeks!.
I remember last time swearing that if I was ever pregnant again I'd just go for the humpty dumpty jeans (full panel) for comfort if nothing else, but no of course it's back to the fantasy of neat, tanned bump with low slung jeans..

NatalieJane · 08/02/2008 16:45

I was about 12 weeks with DS1 in maternity clothes, though if I am honest I didn't really start filling them properly until about 14 weeks, I was just so excited to finally be wearing them! LOL

Have also done the thing about making DH promise he will make me buy some proper dungarees, but I don't think it will ever actually happen!!

It has been quieter on here today, where's Playing? And LG&T? I hope their not off having real lives to sort out, it's not on!

Diege · 08/02/2008 17:39

I know, you'd think they'd bring a note in or something . Any plans for the weekend? We're hoping to have a quiet one, in advance of the half term holiday - trying to eek out the 'treats! dds are determined to fit a visit in to the Blue Planet Aquarium (rip off city), and will also need to check out what's on at the cinema for them. I'm always amazed how much money I spend at half term - I'm sure my parents just left me to it!

NatalieJane · 08/02/2008 17:45

We've got another week till half term I love half term, feel like the day belongs to us again instead of school!

Nothing planned as yet I don't think. We've got to do a Tesco run, but other than that, I think we are taking it as it comes for once.

Just been looking into DS1's birthday party, £340 for a hall and disco, £300 at soft play, £280 at bowling I hate parties.....!

kayzisbroody · 08/02/2008 17:52

Hello all.
Shopping was great got loads of healthy food. My mum was being her usual generous granny. Ds has loads of books and toys. Also she bought all my shopping as she was going to treat me to some shoes but as I couldnt find any she got my shopping.
Found out ds love fish and guinea pigs so might buy him some fish soon.
How is everyone?

P.S Went in Mothercare, the clothes are sooooo cute, resisted M&P

NatalieJane · 08/02/2008 18:04

Glad you had a good time Every fish we ever bought has died, my mum has had hers now for about 10 years (some have come and gone but the two she has at the moment are OLD!)

I don't really even look at the clothes in Mothercare anymore, I got most of DS1's first baby clothes from there and they were awful, none of them washed very well, none of them fitted very well, he turned into a Next and occasionally Gap baby. I used to get so fed up of seeing Next and Gap written on everything! DS2 is Debenhams and sometimes Monsoon, only problem is none of them go in the sodding dryer... but that is another story!
