Well here we are again, day 1 of new cycle. It’s been over a year now (I’d ducked out of these threads for ages). Finally going to start with some private investigations. But not for a few weeks.

Anyone got any fun ideas for this month?

A friend of mine was using ovulations tests for a long time while TTC, she was using FMU each day and wasn’t getting a peak at all. She started to do them just before she went to sleep on a night instead of on a morning and that’s when she got her peak, it was only 1 peak and the next morning it was back to low levels so she assumed the LH didn’t last very long in her system and that’s why her morning pee was missing her peak! Not sure how accurate this information is and I have no idea if it is even a thing, but she fell pregnant the month after figuring this out so could be worth a try even if it is a fluke!

if you can get your partner to DTD every other day between CD10-20 I would 10000% go for it! You’ll be unlikely to miss your ovulation that way!

totally agree testing everyday then consumes you, I tell myself every month I’m not gonna test but then do so anyway πŸ™„x

Geordienewbie · 08/01/2023 18:45

@MilkyAndFluffy the only time I’ve got a peak was first thing in the morning which I know lots of people say is the worst time to test. Just shows that everyone’s different! I’ve got two tests left so maybe I’ll have a go testing at night 😊it’s crazy how quickly it becomes all consuming isn’t it? What CD are you on? X

Mrsrobinsonx · 08/01/2023 18:57

@northernmam
thank you, I think it’s more likely to come around Wednesday as i ovulated later than normal but keeping my fingers crossed she stays away! I will definitely update, I’ve had mild cramps all week, backache & pink when I wiped only after sex so hoping this will be the month 🀞🏻

Hi, sorry to jump in!
I’m actually still waiting to see if I’ve got a September baby on the way, AF due tomorrow 🫣
But could be on CD1 for October baby at some point this week. X

Everything crossed for you.
Today is ovulation day according to flo for me, I've not noticed any changes in my discharge which is usually my pointer. However I have adjusted the cycle data manually (my body seemed to have changed my cycle length last year as I had a few irregularities and then was "late" a few times so I think my cycles are 30/32 days rather than 28 now) and that moved my fertile period πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ so no idea if the app is right currently.

Mrsrobinsonx · 08/01/2023 19:19

@Hummusanddipdip
Thank you!
could you possibly use opk’s to see when your peak is? I use the cheap strip tests and get a positive around the same cycle day most months, it’s nice to know exactly the right day!

Hummusanddipdip · 08/01/2023 19:44

I might give it a shot @Mrsrobinsonx I've only ever relied on Flo, I'm assuming I can pick them up in the supermarket?

Conceiving ds took 3 years, we're over 2 years in with this one now πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ It's been steadily getting harder every month, last year because my cycle went haywire in April and again between July and September, but also, lots of babies and pregnancy announcements within my friendship group over the past few months.

B93 · 08/01/2023 19:49

CD24 today. I usually ovulate CD18-20. AF due anytime between CD27-32. I am
not going to test until next Sunday which will be CD30. I am not going to test earlier than that. Which I have managed to stick to the last 2-3 cycles πŸ™ŒπŸ»

Keeping an eye on the thread hoping for some baby news soon πŸ‘€πŸ€žπŸΌπŸ€βœ¨

Mrsrobinsonx · 08/01/2023 20:24

@northernmam
you can get the more expensive ones in shops like clearblue ovulation tests but imo the cheaper tests you get on Amazon/eBay are so much better. X

@Geordienewbie sorry for my later reply, I’ve had a few busy days at work which has worked well for not thinking about it too much, but today I’m back to being obsessive. Im CD10 today, what day are you on? Plan was to DTD every other day this week starting from yesterday but I’ve been too tired from work etc to even consider it. Hoping if we start tomorrow so CD11 I’ll still be in with a chance this month. Did you ever do any night time testing and get positive results? Agreed it’s beyond frustrating how consuming it is argh - hope you are getting on ok I have my fingers crossed you got a peak with OPK’s πŸ™xx

Geordienewbie · 11/01/2023 15:00

@MilkyAndFluffy no worries at all, always good to have that distraction! I’m on CD 20 but I wasn’t able to get a peak this month and the app hasn’t confirmed ovulation yet. I did try testing at night once but it was just the same as my morning and afternoon ones. I’ve run out of tests now and it’s quite nice not testing for a bit. I had a weird day yesterday feeling like I was hungover (doing dry Jan so definitely not). Pounding headache and spent most of the day dry heaving but it would be way too early for symptoms so I have no idea what it was. Period should be due this time next week so I’m just debating testing early or just letting it ride out πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ CD 11 sounds like a great time to get cracking to me! I’ll have everything crossed for you for this month xx

Hope everyone else on the thread is getting on ok. I’m really hoping to see some BFP’s this month!!

ExcitedandNervousC1 · 11/01/2023 18:44

Hey all I'm 9DPO today so 10 tomorrow! Anyone testing this week? I might give it a go tomorrow and then at 11DPO

B93 · 11/01/2023 19:02

@ExcitedandNervousC1 i’m holding out until Sunday. Keep us posted 🀞🏼

Geordienewbie · 11/01/2023 20:40

@ExcitedandNervousC1 good luck for tomorrow 🀞🀞🀞

@B93 think Sunday will be the earliest I’ll test as well. Going to see how I feel in the next couple of days

WineCap · 11/01/2023 21:05

Hey! Can I join? I would be due on 24th Sep if I concieved on this cycle. I'm approx. 8DPO according to my Clue app but I don't do OPKs.

It will be nice to follow your journeys to partially distract me from the temptation to test πŸ˜…. It's my first cycle TTC my second child. I'm 32 and my DS is 2.

Good luck with your test tomorrow @ExcitedandNervousC1!

MilkyAndFluffy · 11/01/2023 23:24

@Geordienewbie argh, covid probably screwed your temp results up which is super annoying. Asking tmi haha but did you still manage to DTD around the time you possibly ovulated based on last month , just in case? Ahhhhh whyyyy do we get pregnancy like symptoms to trick us and give us hope? It’s cruel haha… I agree slightly too early to feel anything but that doesn’t rule anything out! I have everything crossed your af doesn’t turn up next week. Let us know when you do decide to test! I feel slightly put off testing before af is due after seeing all these chemical pregnancies (didn’t know they existed before these threads), but I know when I’m in TWW all I’ll want to do it test haha!

also agree not testing is sometimes a relief tbh and takes the pressure off. I’ve seen a few people give up testing one month and then it happens for them that month!

i finally managed to DTD tonight so CD11, the flo app says I’ll ovulate CD13 but that seems wrong to me based on previous ovulations being CD15/16 so I’ll keep doing OPK’s in the meantime xx

@ExcitedandNervousC1 Good luck with your test tomorrow, let us know how you get on πŸ™

@WineCap hello lovely! I am the same as you it’s nice to have a distraction and talk about other peoples - also nice to have people in the same boat as you who understand the frustrations haha! When are you planning to test or are you riding it out until AF due date? Got everything crossed for you!!

xxx

Hi Ladies! I chickened out of testing this morning I got so nervous to see a negative (never happened to me before) so going to hold out until sat and test then at 12DPO! Anyone else testing this weekend?

Good luck for the weekend! Fingers crossed for you x

WineCap · 12/01/2023 09:37

@MilkyAndFluffy Uh, the temptation to test is maddening! I'm trying to wait until Saturday, when I'm 11DPO as the odds of a true result seem reasonable by then according to the info on the link that seems to be going around on the conception boards at the moment.

www.countdowntopregnancy.com/pregnancy-test/dpo-chart.php?dpo=11

Geordienewbie · 12/01/2023 10:33

@MilkyAndFluffy haha don’t worry, no such thing as TMI here! We DTD on CDs 13, 14 and 17 so I think we’re covered if I ovulated around the same time as last month. The app still hasn’t been able to confirm ovulation but my temperature is going up so I guess that’s a good sign.

I told myself I would be chill this month but it’s hard not to get that creeping feeling of β€˜maybe I’m pregnant’. Doesn’t help that I had a really vivid dream last night that I tested positive πŸ™ˆ I’m the same as you, I had no idea about chemicals until about a week ago! Trying to decide if I would feel better testing lots and seeing progression (or lack of) or just being in blissful ignorance.

Best of luck with your OPKs. Really hope you get a peak soon xxx

@ExcitedandNervousC1 really don’t blame you and from what I’ve seen on these threads holding out to test is the way forward because there are so many early negatives that turn into positives 🀞

@WineCap thanks for sharing! I haven’t seen that before but it’s really interesting

hipposinacircle · 12/01/2023 11:50

Ah I always feel so far behind on these threads as my EDD is always towards the end of the month. Still waiting on CD1 here πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’« which should be in the next few days so then I can book my HSG procedure, so yes please @Superstorefan123 anything you can tell me in advance will help - mainly does it hurt? And should i expect to be out of action for any length of time? I was considering going into work afterwards as the hospital is nearby but maybe that's a madness?!

Good luck for testing at the weekend @ExcitedandNervousC1 and @WineCap - that is some real willpower there! Hoping I can take a leaf out of your book in the coming weeks...

Superstorefan123 · 12/01/2023 13:12

@hipposinacircle being completely honest I did find it quite painful. It is a similar pain to a period cramp but a lot more extreme. That being said, the pain lasted maybe 2 minutes total and I would do it again in a heartbeat for the reassurance. Everyone’s experience is different too, so you might feel no pain! I took 2 paracetamol and 2 ibuprofen before.

I felt quite faint after so wouldn’t have been keen to work but i wasn’t in any pain as soon as it was done so would definitely be possible to work! I did bleed for 3-4 days after (lightly) so be prepared for that also.

Good luck - the feeling of knowing your tubes are open is worth it all in the end!

hipposinacircle · 12/01/2023 14:49

Thank you @Superstorefan123 I wouldn't have know there would be bleeding afterwards so at least I'm prepared. Really hope it doesn't affect our chances of TTC this month. Although everywhere I keep reading says it can improve fertility so here's hoping! Will make sure to have some pain relief with me too πŸ‘πŸ»

Superstorefan123 · 12/01/2023 14:55

@hipposinacircle no luck yet on my side in terms of improved fertility but fingers crossed for this month! Good luck

BambiBooBoo · 12/01/2023 14:58

Hi! Hope it's okay to join- TTC#2
Currently on CD13
Fertile week is estimated to start around 16/17th Jan
If I manage to conceive this cycle I'd be due around 14th October (a month before baby#1 turns 2πŸ€žπŸ»πŸ™ˆ)
My cycles are irregular but tend to be around 35 day's currently

Betsy21 · 13/01/2023 17:09

Hi all πŸ˜€A bit of a long one here, please bare with me. Currently on cycle 1 of TTC with PCOS. I am hoping someone may be able to shed some light please.I had bloods done on 23rd December due to my PCOS, they measured my PCOS and progesterone levels, however I'm slightly confused. When they took my progesterone levels on 23rd Dec they stated I was borderline ovulating and advised to get some further tests done (1 week before my next period) I'm due these bloods next Friday. My period in December was 6-8th December and Flo app states my ovulation phase was 10th - 19th Dec (ovulation day the 17th). Is it possible I ovulated late?My Jan period was 1st - 4th with ovulating phase of 8th - 14th (ovulating day being today the 13th). I've been taking OPK's since the 9th and these are all coming back low and yet to reach peak.Again is it possible I am ovulating later or is this just my PCOS playing up?
Thanks!
