Sb86 · 25/01/2023 18:49

@TTCno1in23 I had some arrive yesterday so can't say if it works but willing to try anything 🤞🏼

TTCno1in23 · 25/01/2023 21:03

LotzW · 26/01/2023 08:26

Hi.
Can someone help with opk's? We didn't use them when ttc baby 1 as we got pregnant on 2nd cycle.
Do I just start testing when af buggers off? I've seen some people test more than once a day. What's reasonable? I'm assuming we need to make sure we're dtd as lines get darker or? When the test is technically positive is that then too late or perfect timing?
Thanks, and sorry if I sound like a numpty!
X

TunnocksTCake · 26/01/2023 09:41

@LotzW I think to start with you need to start testing when af finishes then the following months you will have a better idea of when your lines start to get darker and can test a little later if needed. It is a good idea to test twice a day when the lines get close to peak so that you dont miss it - I only ever get a peak in the afternoon and it doesnt last long so if I dont test 2 x per day I miss it. After amonth or 2 (if youre still going) you will get an idea of your cycle and can narrow down your window a bit so youre not using too many tests!

LotzW · 26/01/2023 10:23

@TunnocksTCake Thank you. Will give it a whirl 👍🏼

TTCno1in23 · 26/01/2023 11:35

@LotzW I used the cheap strips month 1 and clear blue month 2 as I struggled to know if I’d actually peaked on the cheap ones! I start on CD12 as I ovulate later in the cycle and start DTD every other day from then until till I get the peak then try everyday for 2/3 days 😊 I did it around 11am and got a static smiley on the clear blue but have seen others say they only get it in the afternoon! It’s all very confusing 🤯

TunnocksTCake · 26/01/2023 12:03

@TTCno1in23 If I remember rightly I think the rules with when to test are different with the clear blue ones and you just need to do it once a day (in the morning I think), its just the strips that you might need to do in the afternoon! I believe its because CB test for Oestrogen as well as LH but with the LH only strips, most people get their peak in the early hours but it takes until the afternon to show on the test.

TTCno1in23 · 26/01/2023 15:59

@TunnocksTCake thanks for explaining! That makes sense 😊

TTCno1in23 · 31/01/2023 18:27

How’s everyone getting on? I’m (im)patiently waiting for ovulation week! 😬

LotzW · 31/01/2023 19:22

@TTCno1in23 Currently on my period. Can't wait until it gets lost to start again! Gonna try and use some ovulation test me this month to help a bit.

How's everyone else? Xx

BeaKind · 31/01/2023 19:31

@TTCno1in23 also waiting for ovulation 🥱 CD25 for me today (pcos and irregular cycles) and no sign of ovulation on an opk yet. Hurry up body!!

Knov20 · 31/01/2023 20:26

I'm 2 DPO currently. I've got so much on this next coming week that I'm hoping the time flies by!!

Soda123x · 01/02/2023 07:58

I'm on CD17. Think I am 2DPO.
I have cycles anywhere from 28-34 days. My app says I'm not due to ovulate until this Sat 4th. But from my symptoms I'm pretty sure I ovulated 2 days ago. Pain in tummy, EWCM etc ... I don't do OPKs or temps etc ... were just going with a very relaxed approach atm. DTD throughout the month and hoping it will catch at some point.
This worked for conceiving DS who is now nearly 3. We have decided this is our last month TTC for now. (Other commitments throughout Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb) If doesn't work will start TTC again in July time but then with the OPKs etc...
Good luck everyone 🤞 xx

Natty83 · 01/02/2023 08:50

Good luck @Soda123x ! Sometimes it just works out like that... we caught with DS on the cycle we said would be our last effort before looking at adoption! There's a tendency in our family to leave things to the last minute and I guess DS will be the same x

CD10 and +ve opk this morning so here we go again - this bit always feels like the "start of the cycle" for me somehow

Soda123x · 01/02/2023 09:08

@Natty83 hahahah our family is exactly the same 🤣
Some people just thrive on pressure lol.

Good luck to you too 🤞 xx

PeopleAreToads · 01/02/2023 09:49

I'm 3DPO and feel like time is dragging! Especially because I had a chemical last cycle so we've decided against any early testing, so still 13 days to wait

Sb86 · 01/02/2023 10:49

In the 2 Week wait but not sure on how many dpo, trying to be a bit more relaxed about it this cycle. So just going to see how it goes and see if af arrives or not, not even really sure when that is due as aren't tracking temps at the moment. Fingers crossed for everyone 🤞🏼❤️

Smiffette · 01/02/2023 12:10

Hey,
New here, we've been TTC since October although really hoping for an October baby!

I am 3 DPO and really wishing the days away so that I can test next week. I am due on next Sunday, so I'm thinking I might test Thursday?! 3 days before is usually quite accurate....

How soon do people usually test? I know people often say wait until your missed period, but I don't think I can wait that extra few days 🙈

Sb86 · 01/02/2023 12:16

@Smiffette hey 👋🏼, I didn't test positive until 14dpo with my pregnancy in September which unfortunately ended in mc at 8 weeks. There's been a few ladies recently that tested early and got positive only to bleed a few days later due to a chemical pregnancy. I think to save heartache I'll be waiting to see if af arrives or not from now on before testing. Best of luck to you 🙏🏼

Smiffette · 01/02/2023 14:37

@Sb86 thanks that's useful to know, maybe I will hold on then.
With DD I had a feeling and just knew I was, I'm wondering if I will get that again.
