@lovenaps In my experience the sonographers at the EPU are liars who don't listen to what you have to say. I was repeatedly told that there was a chance things would be ok when I had my MMC despite me telling them over and over that the dates they were suggesting would mean an immaculate conception 😂

lovenaps · 15/12/2022 22:08

@TheBirdintheCave Just saw you cancelled your booking appointment (sorry for messages being all over the place, just trying to catch up!). Please don't stress yourself out too much, and I know, it is million times easier said than done... Focus on the fact you had a HB on two consecutive scans and there has been growth between the scans... Another thing is that when you are measuring something so small, there will be a degree of error involved and two different people would likely get two different measurements. I don't know when your last scan was but if it's been a week, maybe going for a third scan would be a good option for you?❤

bunnykins123 · 15/12/2022 22:17

@TheBirdintheCave from the 1st thread I found on Mumsnet (I hope this reassures you - I didnt even look hard to find them 💕):

SunnySideUp2020 · 20/03/2021 08:10
Oh and my 5 days discrepancy at the beginning, became 3 days at 10 weeks and by 12w scan it matches my LMP which again is weird because i ovulate late in the cycle!
I am 38 weeks now :)

EmzyD · 20/03/2021 08:15
I was in a similar situation for my early scan - I thought I was 7w exactly and early scan dated me at 6+2. Had my 12 week scan yesterday and am dated as 13+1 so all caught up to where I originally thought I should be. At my early scan they warned me the dating was pretty inaccurate. Hopefully this helps!

lilymty · 21/03/2021 10:47
I was 100% sure of my dates when I went for my 6 week scan but I was only measuring 4 weeks. I'm now 35+2 so I really wouldn't worry about a few days although I know that's easier said than done.

zzzebra · 21/03/2021 11:05
I would try not to worry about it, it's completely normal.

With both my first and my current pregnant I had early scans. At both they took multiple measurements and the date varied by 5-6days.

With my first I was dated back by a week at my early scan and then by an extra day at my 12 week scan. She was born early and at 8oz 6lb, I'm very petite so I'm pretty sure the scan dates were wrong and my dates were right.

calimc83 · 15/12/2022 22:21

@bunnykins123 both myself and DH had covid March time @mummatara I also miscarried that pregnancy and I'm sure covid contributed to that. I then conceived again end of June/July with this one so don't lose all hope @bunnykins123 xx

TheBirdintheCave · 15/12/2022 22:25

@bunnykins123 Seems only one of those people was sure of their dates though :/

Thank you for trying to make me feel better though. You too @lovenaps x

FfayeN · 15/12/2022 22:37

@bunnykins123 oh noooooo to the Covid 😔 I'm sure all will be well. Xx

@TheBirdintheCave I'm sorry this is turning into such a tumultuous few weeks for you. Sending you lots of virtual support. All I would say is try and get the booking and bloods done by 10 weeks as they can't do some of the testing after then. I know it's hard though, I put mine off. By then you will know either way what's happening 😘 xx

@MrsCristianoX I'm sorry you're feeling horrendous! How rubbish. Hopefully you'll feel better soon x

@lovenaps I have the consultation tomorrow. Then the biopsy is after I next ovulate, I was hoping to track it this week to catch this cycle but it's all over the place so I reckon it'll be Januarys cycle: then it's a 4 week wait for results which takes out the next cycle TTV aswell 😩. I am glad all is still well with your pregnancy, how far along are you now? Xx

@LuckyMoonstone how are you doing? I saw they've upped your thyroxine, any ideas what your levels were and are now? Xx

TheBirdintheCave · 15/12/2022 22:45

@FfayeN Thanks. I won't need to rebook the appointment so I shouldn't need to worry about that :) I did explain why I was cancelling in my email so hopefully they understand.

I feel like I'm just wishing this poor baby dead now so much so that I'll probably cause it just by thinking about it so much :( I do really want it to live but its survival seems so unlikely now.

bunnykins123 · 15/12/2022 22:54

@TheBirdintheCave the weird thing is when I look at your crl online, it comes up as around 7mm so to me, it doesn't seem like you're too far off at all. I am not sure how they calculate 6+4 off your measurements!

bunnykins123 · 15/12/2022 22:55

@FfayeN good luck tomorrow! Is that with Prof Brosens? Let me know what they say 🤞

bunnykins123 · 15/12/2022 22:56

@calimc83 thank you for the reassurance! I guess it's just a pain that DH spermies is already terrible so this isn't going to help. I seriously thing someone is trying to tell me to just stop bothering as I'm not really working with much positivity at the moment! Xx

TheBirdintheCave · 15/12/2022 23:12

@bunnykins123 It should be 10mm at 7 weeks. I think the NHS take the 50th percentile measurement. So 7mm is the 50th percentile for 6+4.

bunnykins123 · 15/12/2022 23:13

@TheBirdintheCave gotcha! So what staging did your first scan put you at?

TheBirdintheCave · 15/12/2022 23:13

@bunnykins123 As far as I know 7mm is the 10th percentile for 7+0.

TheBirdintheCave · 15/12/2022 23:13

@bunnykins123 First scan was 3.6mm which she marked as 6+0.

FfayeN · 15/12/2022 23:17

@TheBirdintheCave I would definitely get weekly scans if possible to put your mind at ease, when would this mean you had another? Early this week? It also depends if they measured it correctly, sometimes they're curled round or at an angle they can't get.

@bunnykins123 yes that's the one! I will keep you all updated 🥰 xx

FfayeN · 15/12/2022 23:18

@bunnykins123 I'm also going to try and be cheeky and ask about DH results aswell incase he has any advice 🤞🏼 xx

OP posts:
bunnykins123 · 15/12/2022 23:22

@TheBirdintheCave defo report back on that! We can't speak to our consultant as he's away until early January 🙄 Have you had DHs results back?

FfayeN · 15/12/2022 23:40

@bunnykins123 how frustrating! We had basic analysis done in January this year, then before our consultation fell pregnant: I didn't even think about requesting the results until we lost this one 🙈. So they show morphology at 3% and motility at 45%, so both are borderline low. I wish I'd checked sooner as now we've wasted time with him not taking any supplements be drinking more than ideal amounts, and could have contributed to the losses. I have obviously been careful how I've worded that to him. No less frustrating though xx

OP posts:
TheBirdintheCave · 16/12/2022 06:50

@FfayeN That motility sounds quite good to me! My husband's was 13-16% 😂

mummatara · 16/12/2022 06:53

@MrsCristianoX eurgh you poor poor thing 😩 I hope you feel better soon ❤️

@bunnykins123 I think with covid it affects some people more than others. So everytime I've had it or had a jab I've been really ill and some people don't even know they've had it. I think a

mummatara · 16/12/2022 06:54

Sorry didn't get to finish fat fingers 😂

@bunnykins123 I think some bodies process it better is what I was trying to say 🙈

mummatara · 16/12/2022 07:03

@lovenaps oh wow that sounds super scary glad all is ok though ❤️

@TheBirdintheCave I measured behind by a week with my DS and he caught up by the 12 week scan. It's really hard because there are rubbish stories out there but as everyone says early scans are very hard to read and I would take growth as a positive sign

@LuckyMoonstone I honestly don't think there's been enough research about covid and pregnancy yet. I asked the consultant with DS if covid could have caused my OC and she said no but I had had a textbook pregnancy up until that point 36 weeks and honestly it was all so new there's no way she could have known if it caused it or not. They hadn't even found a jab for it at that point I think or I certainly hadn't had one yet this was jan 2021. They are now saying there's risk to stillbirth if you catch it in the last tri so I'm still a believer there is something to it

TheBirdintheCave · 16/12/2022 07:29

@mummatara So did my son but that was because I hadn't taken my ovulation date into account. I did add it on for this one and the dates are still behind :(

mummatara · 16/12/2022 07:41

@TheBirdintheCave I knew my ovulation dates for him. I know it's really hard to stay positive about it but at this point I really do think it's 50/50 there are many bad stories but there are also good stories. I've been down the rabbit hole of google and it honestly didn't help me one bit my outcome was the same no matter what other stories were. I think going for more scans like @FfayeN says will help you I know they are a cost if the EPU won't do them but in my eyes they would be helpful so I would just pay for them. So much of baby making is just waiting which is the absolute worst. Try so hard to focus on one positive from your scans there is a heartbeat and don't get mixed up in measurements. You tell yourself today there's a heartbeat and I'm pregnant positive mental mantras focus on the good bits. The heartbeat is the best news you can hope for at a scan imo ❤️

TheBirdintheCave · 16/12/2022 07:44

@mummatara I get what you're saying but 50/50 is terrible odds and I am not a lucky person :( I am pregnant today still yes but I can't be sure there's a heart beat any more.

Sorry, I'm just hugely depressed. I don't want to have to do this all again :(
