Finally realised that our previous thread was full 🤣 I hope no one minds me starting up a new one!

Can you believe it's been almost a year since this was all started up?!

@BethSuz27 pineapple seems to have magical powers my midwife last time swore by it to bring on labour so hopefully it will also help you get your bfp

LucyLoopyLu · 13/01/2023 11:04

Maybe I should get on the pineapple!
I do like a fruit salad for breakfast but I'm trying to follow the glucose goddess rules for blood sugar management at the moment though, and pineapple would be something for dessert as you're meant to have a savoury breakfast.

I'm CD 13 so currently in fertile window. We DTD on Weds and will probably be doing today, tomorrow and Sunday I think. Depends on the OPK today as I haven't seen it rise yet (still low). I really didn't want to bother on Weds as I'm getting fed up with it all now.

Hope everyone else is OK x

BethSuz27 · 13/01/2023 15:46

@LucyLoopyLu im Cd 16, and we’ve dtd 11,12,13,14 so far, I’ve not seen a rise in my LH strips but did get a peak on my clearblue on CD13 so not really sure whether to say ovulation has already happened so I’m still tracking on the LH strips to see if I get a peak on those, it looks like it may be slowly starting to rise but I have no idea

BethSuz27 · 13/01/2023 18:28

Speaking of, I’ve just had my peak tonight :) would people say it’s better to dtd tonight and tomorrow or tomorrow and Sunday?

Houseelf90 · 13/01/2023 18:42

@BethSuz27 I’m no expert on ovulation and OPK’s but I would have thought tonight and tomorrow as the sperm can live longer than the egg so doesn’t matter if it’s already there waiting for the egg to be released!

Houseelf90 · 13/01/2023 18:47

Thought I’d put a post on earlier but it seems like I either didn’t press post, or have posted on another thread, apologies if it’s posted on here and I can’t see it! 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️
I’m 10dpo today and caved!! BFN this morning! I’ve had lower back ache and achey hips/upper thighs today, and hiccups most of the week, I’ll test again on Monday although I’m not hoping for too much this cycle after having a chemical over Christmas. Oddly though, both times I’ve had BFP’s were on a Monday, following a BFN on the Friday!

Hope everyone has a great weekend, especially those in the fertile period! X

LucyLoopyLu · 13/01/2023 20:45

@Houseelf90 sorry about the BFN. 10dpo is still early though, you're not out yet!

@BethSuz27 I reckon today and tomorrow, so the sperm is there waiting for the egg!

BethSuz27 · 14/01/2023 14:09

What does everyone think of this? I’m confused as to why it’s still positive after my peak, I thought it was meant to drop quickly after peak?

Preparing to TTC in 2022 part....7?!
Dreamingof3 · 14/01/2023 15:57

@BethSuz27 mine used to stay high for a while after my peak! No idea why 😅

OP posts:
BethSuz27 · 14/01/2023 15:58

@Dreamingof3 would you still count CD16 as peak day and therefore CD17-18 as ovulation then despite the high results otherwise?

LucyLoopyLu · 14/01/2023 19:06

@BethSuz27 hi, yes I would count that peak as normal and the following day ov day. Keep testing though. Mine usually falls really quickly but I don't think it's a problem if it stays high!

Houseelf90 · 14/01/2023 22:23

@LucyLoopyLu I’m going to test again on Monday I think, trying not to get my hopes up but symptoms are getting hard to ignore!

LucyLoopyLu · 14/01/2023 22:37

@Houseelf90 will keep my fingers crossed for you!

helly013 · 14/01/2023 22:37

I was looking into the easy at home ovulation kits. I've only ever used clearblue ones, which tbf have always worked well for me.
The easy at home says to test in the afternoon. Should I do the same with clearblue? I always do them first thing. Is it just how the different tests work? Those that use both when do you test?

Houseelf90 · 14/01/2023 22:39

@LucyLoopyLu thank you! How are you doing? X

BethSuz27 · 15/01/2023 11:13

@helly013 so they say to test like that because LH is produced in the afternoon so you’re getting a more accurate reading, I have always done morning and afternoon for the LH and I will do afternoon with clearblue if I get a high fertility reading! I got my peaks in afternoon/evening this month so glad I did otherwise I may have missed it!

1dpo today, my LH is coming down slowly 0.72 today, and had quite strong ovulation cramps yesterday evening so I’m hoping it was just a good one!

Houseelf90 · 15/01/2023 13:55

Well holding out to test tomorrow didn’t work out and I’ve just caved, this afternoon at 12dpo. I don’t know if I’m seeing things or how long it took to appear but I think I’ve just had a very very faint bfp! Now to try and hold out until Tuesday morning to test again….😬

LucyLoopyLu · 15/01/2023 16:07

@Houseelf90 ooh exciting! Keep us posted. Have you got an frer ready for next test?

I'm having a bit of a weird one, I've been doing my OPKs and it started to rise yesterday (but not peak) and I've done two more today which are back down pretty low. Sometimes I get a few low but increasing, then high, then miss my peak, but I usually at least get a high OPK or two. I don't know if I'm ovulating today/tomorrow and I've missed my peak or if maybe I'm not ovulating this cycle. I guess I will continue to test. I got a peak last cycle. Maybe I'm not always ovulating properly and that's why I'm on cycle 10? 😶 I just don't know.

In other news we have booked a holiday for last two weeks in March. So either that will be consolation prize for trying for 1 year without success or it will be hoping desperately not to be feeling too rough to enjoy it (if I do get BFP before then).

Houseelf90 · 15/01/2023 16:25

@LucyLoopyLu I’ve not got any frer’s (and typically none of the shops round here seem to have them) so I’ll order online I think.

I’m probably not much help with OPK’s as I’ve not used them. I think it’d probably be sensible to test for a few days longer in something odd happened and they go back up!
The holiday sounds exciting and certainly something to look forward to!

HeathenPlayingHouse · 15/01/2023 16:29

Hi all!

If I disregard the odd bleeding I had, today would be CD21. Positive OPK, right?

Preparing to TTC in 2022 part....7?!
LucyLoopyLu · 15/01/2023 16:32

@HeathenPlayingHouse hi, yes I would say so! I wish mine looked like that today 😂

LucyLoopyLu · 15/01/2023 16:34

@Houseelf90 yes you're right, I will probably keep testing for a few more days and if it starts to rise again I guess get back to DTD as if I'm ovulating late. I'm pretty tired from so much DTD this week though so hoping tonight can be the last scheduled one for this month

Houseelf90 · 15/01/2023 16:34

@HeathenPlayingHouse I’ve just had a quick look back at your last few posts, it looks like you also had a positive OPK on cd11? So could you potentially be about 10dpo from that? Only asking as I know some get a positive OPK when they’re pregnant…..?

HeathenPlayingHouse · 15/01/2023 16:50

@Houseelf90 CD11 was the darkest before now, but that was only showing as a 0.68 reading and went down from there. My usual O day is around CD15-18, and then today finally showed as 0.98.

I'll keep you posted!

Houseelf90 · 15/01/2023 16:52

@HeathenPlayingHouse ahh ok! I’m not massively clued up on the OPK’s but I have seen lots that you can get a positive OPK when you’re pregnant. It’s odd that you started bleeding in the middle, but reassuring you’re getting high readings on the OPK’s again!
