Finally realised that our previous thread was full 🤣 I hope no one minds me starting up a new one!

Can you believe it's been almost a year since this was all started up?!

@PinkButtercups we're (almost) definitely done but they don't even ask that before they start!

29 weeks today and my back/hips are horrific, just doing the bare minimum if I can get away with it!
We've got a pencilled in elective section for 40+1, with the agreement that it can be moved forwards or back depending on how I feel 😂 and growth scan Friday showed she's on 25th centile and turned head down so all good for now. Also should get my gestational diabetes results tomorrow so going to enjoy the last of my Christmas treats tonight 😭

@Welshgal85 sorry about the BFN, I hope you're ok

@Bananatoast123 hi and nice to hear your update although sorry you're still ttc. I think your plan sounds like a really good one

AF came this morning right on time. I was expecting it as had 4 BFNs this week just because I've been drinking and wanted to be on the safe side.
Feeling a bit more positive today although I had a wobble last night. Had some thoughtless comments from friends in the past few days which just got to me a bit.
Officially onto cycle 10 🥲

Bananatoast123 · 01/01/2023 18:21

@LucyLoopyLu hey! So sorry to hear you’re onto cycle 10! We’re in this together 🥰

it’s hard when people aren’t very sensitive! On Boxing Day I found out my OH cousin is pregnant and I know they’d only just started trying 😩 it hit me like a ton of bricks now being on month 11.

we’ll get there though, it’s average 12 months so we are still behind most!

I’ve just started taking ashwagana and inositol alongside all my other vits. Inositol is supposedly for pcos which I’ve not been diagnosed with but I think I’ve got v v mild signs like carrying weight on my tummy, my cycles used to vary from 25-31 days (albeit they’ve regulated)… also read it’s great for pregnancy and just in general causes no harm… so thought it’s worth a shot!

Houseelf90 · 01/01/2023 19:48

@Bananatoast123 i know my other half has looked at rings, not sure if he’s bought one yet. He also said he has planned how he’s going to ask me. He was being very lovey dovey yesterday and I wondered whether he was going to do it last night but no, 2022 was not the year 🤣 we took some flowers to my aunties grave today and she’s buried where I’d like to get married so we went inside as we’ve not been in before and OMG it is absolutely stunning!! It’s an abbey so it’s massive inside and the thought of walking down the aisle gave me goosebumps!

@PinkButtercups thank you lovely, I’m doing ok thank you. I’ve opened up to a few more people and been honest about what’s happened and found out through doing so that some friends have been trying over a year with no luck, it certainly helps to be open and honest about these things I think.
I’m glad Autumn’s cream is helping and that they’ve both slotted into your routine!
How rude of the midwife!! For all she knows you might want 10 kids and another set of twins would be a blessing! In fact, as we all know on here, any child at all is a blessing, let alone twins!

Welshgal85 · 01/01/2023 20:30

Thanks @Houseelf90 it was great to see the girls and nice to switch off for a few days! Hope you’re okay? Exciting about your OH talking about proposing! I’d love it if mine did but no signs yet 😂🙄

Thanks @LucyLoopyLu I’m okay, just wondering wtf is going on with my body to be honest! Having such a light and quick AF is unheard of for me. But just going with it and assuming I’m about to ovulate like usual so will get on with DTD this week! How are you?

Does anyone get an upset stomach after DTD? Since we’ve been trying I’ve been getting stomach ache/upset tum a day or two after. Has anyone else had this? Wondering if it’s anxiety or something untoward going on?

LucyLoopyLu · 01/01/2023 20:31

@Bananatoast123 hey and thanks 😊 I know what you mean, I spent Christmas with a happily heavily pregnant family member with constant talking about "the last Christmas as an X number of people" etc. and it was a bit much.

Then been with a big group of friends for new year which has been lovely but I'm the only woman who doesn't have a baby and it's tough when people are asking you when you are going to have kids etc. Also they're all moaning about their kids which I know is par for the course but I don't have much sympathy at the moment. One of the others made a bitchy comment to me last night about me being able to get changed / ready for NYE because I don't have a kid to look after. I just just like 🖕 as if someone forced them to have their own children. Also sorry but why does having a baby mean you can't get changed if you want to? It took 2 mins 🙄

Houseelf90 · 01/01/2023 20:51

@Welshgal85 glad to hear you had a nice time! I’m ok thank you! Haha he talks about it but that doesn’t mean anything will actually get done 😂 I’ll probably still be here waiting in 6 years time!! He did recently order a proper ring sizer though and measure my finger so that’s a positive I guess!

Not a complaint at all (in fact quite the opposite) but does anyone else find the cycles come round so quickly?! It doesn’t seem 5 minutes since I had the dreaded blood upon wiping leading to the chemical and now looking at the flo app my estimated ovulation is in 2 days!! We DTD Friday, so will aim for tonight and then tomorrow and/or Tuesday! It seems that the flo app has been pretty good at predicting ovulation around the right time having had 2 BFPs in 5 months of trying so I’m just going to stick with DTD several times around the date flo predicts for now 🤞🏼

Bananatoast123 · 01/01/2023 21:33

@Houseelf90 eeek!! I love that for you! I bet he’s got a ring if he knows how?? My OH doesn’t know how but I know he’s not got a ring yet! I only know he’s going to as his aunty mentioned “who’s wedding is next” on Boxing Day and he said in the car he’s embarrassed he’s not got all the money for it yet! He seems to have changed his stance on saving too and suggested around July!

Ive sent him the ring I’d like soo here I am waiting for it 😂

@LucyLoopyLu Oh wow you have had a tough Xmas period!! I’m surprised you kept your mouth shut - I have said something! Our friends don’t know we are trying and one of them once kept going on about babies and I told her I was bored of hearing about babies just to shut her up but it was more because she was just constantly reminding me! Eurgh people are so insensitive!!

Houseelf90 · 01/01/2023 22:10

@Bananatoast123 I’ve also shown him the ring I’d like, and then he asked me for some other options so I’ve given him a few to choose from 🤣 he’s been married before and he proposed to his ex on Christmas Day so I knew it wouldn’t be then, I imagine it’ll be spring/summer now….or in 6 years time 😂
Hopefully 2023 will be the year we get our rings and babies, or at least the BFPs that lead to a baby!!

BethSuz27 · 02/01/2023 19:32

It’s cycle 5 now and hoping for this to be our lucky one! DH is getting upset now every time we get a negative and so we are upping our game, I’ve bought the purple ovulation tests and we are planning to dtd every day we get a smiley face on them..::

does anyone have anything they did different on the month they conceived?

Bananatoast123 · 02/01/2023 21:38

@Houseelf90 haha I love that 😂 I reckon summer would be nice!! Tbh I want a random day and then it gives us another day to look forward to during the year!

here’s to our 2023! I’m manifesting the hell out of both of these things 😂 started journalling and everything!

@BethSuz27 if you find the answer let me know as I’m cycle 10 (9dpo) and would love to know the magic!

krissy12 · 02/01/2023 22:20

@BethSuz27 we had been ttc #1 for over a year was using all the ovulation sticks never got a positive when I was testing got day 1 and day 21 blood tests done showed i hadnt ovulated and was referred to the fertility clinic for further tests I then got pregnant a week after my referral was made ! we only dtd once when we conceived because we moved house so have no idea how it happened but we now have a 2year old. The only thing we done different was not trying !! I know 100% that is easier said than done especially now when ttc #2 and its not happening

Houseelf90 · 02/01/2023 22:42

@Bananatoast123 summer would be lovely wouldn’t it!! I’m sure he’ll think of something amazing whatever he does!

Properly back to work tomorrow - I was working last week but from home; with no managers working and not much work to do. I had told my manager that I was pregnant as she needed to know about my op, plus incase anything happened so I have to tell her tomorrow I’ve lost another pregnancy and I also have to call EPU tomorrow….I’ve been doing really well, not thinking about it and being positive but I feel tomorrow might be difficult. There’s also a guy in the office whose partner gave birth just before Christmas. Hoping he will still be off tomorrow so I don’t have to deal with that on top of everything else!

Welshgal85 · 02/01/2023 23:02

Oh @Houseelf90 that sounds tough, hope you’re okay ❤️ Do you have a supportive manager?

I’m back to work tomorrow too and really not feeling up to it! not in the best headspace and not ready to go back yet, just want to drag out the Xmas break a bit longer! DP hasn’t been in the mood to DTD the past few days so I’m feeling a bit irritable about that too!

Houseelf90 · 03/01/2023 06:45

@Welshgal85 thank you 🥰 she will be really supportive with things like this. I was at work when I started bleeding with my first chemical and she was great - I tried to hold it together till the end of the day but within 5 mins I was sobbing in the break room 🤣🙈
Oh that’s frustrating, are you in your fertile week? Hopefully you’ll still manage to catch some days x

PinkButtercups · 03/01/2023 23:15

@Houseelf90 Glad you can open up and I bet in some sort of weird way it's quite comforting to know other people in a similar boat. I bet it feels less lonely at times being able to talk to people who experience similar feelings/emotions.
Thank you lovely. Exactly that! Any baby is a blessing. I'm the most sarcastic & blunt person someone could come across so she met her match that day!

@Dreamingof3 Did you get your GD results?

My twins are one month old today! Time flies by!

Welshgal85 · 03/01/2023 23:18

How did today go @Houseelf90 ? Hope you’re okay.

Yeh in my fertile week but not holding out much hope atm. Had a cry this morning.

Bananatoast123 · 04/01/2023 06:54

11dpo today so did a test of FMU and BFN. I don’t know why I even get any hopes up now I’m on cycle 10! 😅 here we go onto cycle 11 once AF shows lol

Houseelf90 · 04/01/2023 09:13

@PinkButtercups I think it definitely helps, and I don’t really know why it’s such a taboo subject. So many people go through losses or difficulties in getting pregnant, it would be much easier if it was spoken about, and it would then avoid the whole “when are you going to have a baby” questions, but I guess it’ll never change really.
Happy 1 month to the babies! That’s gone so quickly!!!

@Welshgal85 it was ok actually! I told my manager as we were on the way back from making a cup of tea and she didn’t really say a lot tbh, but I prefer that else I’d have got upset. She said she was sorry etc just not a lot else. I spoke to EPU and they asked how I was feeling etc, they can do tests if you have 3 or more, and they can also arrange counselling if needed (I don’t feel that’s necessary, but nice to know support is available). The guy who has had the baby wasn’t in, others were talking about the baby but that doesn’t bother me. He’s a bit of a lad and has asked others in the past when they’re having a baby so although I don’t mind baby talk etc, I’m not a massive fan of him 🤣
Sorry to hear you’re upset 😔 I just don’t think they get it like we do, my OH hates it if I talk about when I’m fertile etc, he would rather not know as he likes to think I’m wanting to DTD because I want to, not to make a baby. But it’s so upsetting when you miss those few days, it’s another month gone by. Sending you love xx

Dreamingof3 · 04/01/2023 09:19

@PinkButtercups a month already...that's crazy!

I did! All clear... completely shocked to be honest 😂 making some changes to my diet anyway as I know it could still develop and I don't want to do any damage in the meantime

Springblooms08 · 04/01/2023 10:52

Hi ladies and happy new year - sending lots of luck to everyone trying, pregnant or with their new baby! I’m 24 weeks now and doing okay, although still recovering from flu which I’ve had for two weeks now!

@BethSuz27 i don’t know if this is remotely helpful, as I know lots of us did/do this method, but the month I got my bfp was the only month we managed to do the deed all three days in a row of a positive OPK (day of and the two days afterwards). Looking at my flo app, we also dtd the day before the positive opk too.

LucyLoopyLu · 04/01/2023 17:04

@Dreamingof3 congrats on the result!

@Houseelf90 hope you're ok, glad work went alright

I have nothing to update on.
I'm on day 2 of dry January (we were still away 1st/2nd so not counting that as still on hols).
I've got some alcohol free gin and beer to drink so that's not too bad.
Feeling quite positive today even though I've been back at work. Really hoping 2023 is a better year. Less stress, less worries, and hopefully a healthy pregnancy 🤞
My husband is looking at booking holidays for March/April time as well so that would be something good to look forward to

Houseelf90 · 04/01/2023 19:40

@LucyLoopyLu good luck for dry January!

I’m actually feeling really positive today - not sure what’s wrong with me 🤣 I suffer from SAD a lot in the winter and my car failed it’s MOT this morning so I have every reason to be a bit down but I feel oddly positive and happy 😂🤷‍♀️ I’m sure it’ll come to an end but I’ll take it while it lasts!

BethSuz27 · 04/01/2023 23:08

Does anyone have any tips for implantation? I’m happy to try everything this month! Planning to try pineapples and pomegranate juice, anything else? CD7 and gearing up for a busy month! I’d love a BFP for my birthday!

Houseelf90 · 05/01/2023 07:12

@BethSuz27 ooh I’ve not heard of pineapple and pomegranate!! I might have to try that, I love pineapple so that helps 🤣 is it just pomegranate juice or does pomegranate work too?
