@NatW2021 eeeek! Just keep yourself busy .. go for a nice walk, get stuck into a Netflix series. Have you decided when you’re going to test? X

NatW2021 · 23/11/2023 13:47

@Koalie the days go quick but such a long wait for OTD which is a week today! Just a bit nervous about period arriving as I'm on a natural cycle and due on Tuesday, I'm on cyclogest clinic said that usually holds period off a bit.

I know I'm wasting energy even analysing but did you have AF twinges/feelings in your TWW? Starting to feel like I can feel something going on with my boobs but I'm very aware it's nothing 🙈

SarahShorty · 23/11/2023 13:52

I haven't been on here in a while, but just thought I'd add my tuppence regarding the TWW with IVF. And apologies if I come across bitter because I am miscarrying a 5 week old FET at the moment;

The TWW after having the transfer done is nothing compared to the waiting for the viability scan. Seriously, it's awful.

On a lighter note, I wish you all only the very best of luck xx

Koalie · 23/11/2023 13:55

@NatW2021 I tried not to symptom spot or look into anything but it is impossible. The only things I’ve had in a tww when I’ve been pregnant that I didn’t have in all the times I wasn’t were a sore throat and itchy bottoms of my feet at night time 😂 so bloody random haha but that’s kinda when I know. Anything else, boob twinges, stomach pains etc have never been a tell tail sign for me. I caved at 6dp5dt 🤭 x

NatW2021 · 23/11/2023 14:09

@SarahShorty so sorry,😔 I am very aware the worrying only gets worse its just an horrendous process. Sending lots of love x

@Koalie - thank you for sharing, what will be will be not much I can do and I'll try to not over analyse. I'm not analysing all the positives more that the way I feel is that I'm out, but long to wait in the grand scheme of things x

missmoosh · 23/11/2023 14:41

@NatW2021 not an Ivf pregnancy, we magically got our bfp the week we were due to start. I am 4w4d and symptoms only started yesterday a touch. I did not feel any difference at all until then. If I hadn't tested I would have been convinced my period would have arrived.
Hope this helps, I feel silly for all the symptom spotting I did now, due to how nothing the symptoms actually were lol

Koalie · 23/11/2023 17:37

Sorry to hear this @SarahShorty 😔there are just no words xx

FlyOnTheWall89 · 23/11/2023 19:50

Best of luck @NatW2021 - I had zero symptoms ... baby is just about to turn 9 months... time flies! Keeping everything everything crossed for you

NatW2021 · 24/11/2023 11:44

@FlyOnTheWall89 lovely to hear from you and wow 9 months that has flown by, how are you doing? I can't believe I'm still I'm in this situation and no closer to a BFP seriously losing hope it will ever happen.

@Koalie I'm 6dp5dt and stupidly did a test, I've got a feeling it's not going to work out, always had a feeling something serious is preventing this ever happening. good embryo/good lining so god knows! been sobbing all morning. When did you get a positive?

TheBirdintheCave · 26/11/2023 00:36

@NatW2021 Sorry you had a BFN :(

Koalie · 26/11/2023 10:17

@NatW2021 Sorry lovely, didn’t get a notification for your message. I had my + at 6dpt but I had read that it’s rare to have one that early. I’ve got all my fingers and toes crossed for you! Xx

NatW2021 · 26/11/2023 10:51

@Koalie I'm 8dpt now and still negative I'm absolutely heartbroken and just been so tearful all weekend. I know it doesn't always work out first time and I'll pick myself up again but really hard to trust the process. I've stopped my progesterone now and hopefully I'll start my period sooner rather than later and we might be able to do our last transfer from this cycle before xmas, I've got some questions for the clinic and will be pushing for steroids and blood thinners as I have a minor autoimmune condition hashimoto so just had a gut feeling it wouldn't work using a standard approach but was willing to give it ago. I am sick to death of seeing negative tests I just don't even know how to keep plodding on. Sorry to be miserable I know you ladies understand l. Z

FlyOnTheWall89 · 27/11/2023 08:40

@NatW2021 so sorry you didn't get your BFP. It's there in your future I'm sure of it. The never ending time line is so hard to manage. Sending you a big hug. X

TheBirdintheCave · 27/11/2023 09:38

@NatW2021 I'm really sorry it was still BFN :( Look after yourself.

Netflixnchilli · 27/11/2023 12:06

I’m so sorry @NatW2021, sending gentle hugs. Keeping everything crossed you can get a final transfer in 2023.

@SarahShorty I am so sorry too, sending love xxx

NatW2021 · 30/11/2023 14:08

Thanks Ladies it's been a really tough few days but I'm feeling a little better day by day.

I had my appt with the dr this morning and she suggested prednisolone which is a steroid for my next transfer in January, I had done research and wanted to try this due to my autoimmune condition so happy to try it.

We spoke about possible changes for my next cycle if this last transfer doesn't work. They suggested a DNA trag test for DH I think based on low embryos, we had 8 looking good on say 3 then only ended up with two on day 5, 1 5AB and grade 2 embryologist said this is equivalent to a 2AB

@Koalie I know you DH had some DNA issues so my question is, if this is the case do you know if the two embryos I had we're always doomed to fail or do we still have hope they were genetically normal?

Also going to try and get DH on better suppliments just incase, he's a typical man and moana about taking 1 wellman supplement a day so bare that in mind haha. X

Koalie · 30/11/2023 14:32

@NatW2021 Hi lovely. So sorry to hear this round didn’t work for you. Stay strong and keep going! 🫶🏼

Yes, my hubby had high DNA frag so in the 3 month run up to IVF he made a ton of lifestyle changes and was taking Impryl, Fish oil and vitamin D. Impryl is meant to be the best for DNA frag (I also took the same for egg quality because of my low AMH.) Happy to list the lifestyle changes as well if you need them. Our clinic were quite blaze about DNA frag and said their recommendation to overcome it would be to just do ICSI but I’d already read a lot about it and advise people had received from Dr Ramsey so I knew that there was definitely a way to improve it before heading into IVF so that we had the best outcome. In the end, we tried ICSI on 10 of our eggs and IVF on 8 of them and the IVF group still ended up with a better outcome! Unfortunately never did a second DNA test so we don’t know exactly how much DH’s efforts would have changed his results.

Re your two embryos - there is absolutely a chance they were genetically normal (unless your DH has 100% fragmentation which is highly unlikely !) unfortunately, the only way to know is to do PGTA testing which costs a small fortune. It’s definitely a good idea though to head into the next round armed with all the info and a plan (fingers crossed you won’t need it though and your Jan transfer is a success! 🤞🏼)
xx

Koalie · 30/11/2023 14:44

@NatW2021 also … probably not helpful info but I was on Fragmin for my transfer - don’t know if that made a difference but could have helped implantation 🤷🏻‍♀️ I follow someone on insta with an autoimmune disease and she used blood thinners, steroids and intralipids in her protocol … not sure if that’s of any use with hashimotos but it just popped into my head so thought I’d share xx

NatW2021 · 30/11/2023 14:49

@Koalie thanks for all that info I'm going to order them and he can get started as dont really want to wait till February time when we do the test then wait 3 months for it all take effect. Hoping we can do the next round in March if it comes to that.

So could it be that the embryos that made it to day 5 and looked good were fertilised with normal sperm from the sample? If it is DNA related we don't know yet x

Koalie · 30/11/2023 15:00

@NatW2021 good idea ! If you can also get him to have a handful of walnuts and glass of tomato juice a day, that’s also supposed to improve semen quality (my husband screwed up his face like a child whenever I gave him his with his dinner 😂)

Yes, it definitely could mean they were fertilised with good sperm if they made it to day 5 but it’s still not a guarantee. Even people with low DNA frag can have day 5 blasts with chromosomal abnormalities. X

NatW2021 · 30/11/2023 15:09

@Koalie Thanks, it's hard because I do everything in my power to make this work, you name it I've done it, including all the IVF stuff which is as you know next level for for the female. my DH wants this to work but doesn't seem open to possibility there is a deeper issue. It's nobodies fault but we need to know what we are dealing with to give us the best chance. If it was me I would have had the DNA test done 2 years ago but I've had to get the balance right with my DH. When I mtokd him what the DR said (he was in work so it was just me on the call) he seemed a little bit resistant to it potentially being a problem with his sample. It's so hard to deal with this possibility when it's not something i can personally control and I just feel like a nag telling him to do this and not do that. Sorry had to rant x

AgeGapBbe · 19/12/2023 09:07

I’ve not been on here for a long time… I was getting myself in the zone for IVF (appointment next Friday) then yesterday was THIS!

Koalie · 19/12/2023 12:25

@AgeGapBbe Congratulations !! That’s great news. And what a relief right before your appointment :)

I also have an update for you all. Little baby Leo made his entrance into the world on 5th December ! (the day after my birthday 😆) we had an elective c section scheduled for the 7th but my waters broke when I got into bed after a big birthday curry on the night of the 4th and so they obviously had to whip him out within 24 hours. He was a teeny tiny 6lb 10oz ☺️ x

FlyOnTheWall89 · 19/12/2023 14:04

@Koalie big congratulations!!!!!! how time flies - feels like yesterday you were wobbling re your AMH. Enjoy that perfect newborn bubble! Did you have a c sec then?

@AgeGapBbe how does this happen so so often - mega congratulations .... I've been there and it doesn't feel real. Enjoy it and take it a day at a time. I felt incredibly anxious.

Koalie · 19/12/2023 15:04

@FlyOnTheWall89 thank you! Yes we had a c section … we just got put on the ‘emergency’ list for that day, however it was still the lovely calm birth that we wanted because it wasn’t technically an emergency 🥰 x
