@821k oh okay. That is incredibly early to try and detect twins. I hope they offer you a rescan as with the dates/tests you are showing there will likely be very little to see. I worked in imaging for a number of years, it is highly unusual to accept a patient at the stage you are, even IVF patients wait until 6 weeks+ especially for twinning etc even then they can be missed. That is why the midwife won't book you in as there is usually nothing to do or see at this stage.

821k · 04/10/2022 23:04

I've had twins before and early scans if there is twins they will look like 2 tiny peanuts I spoke to my old midwife and this private clinic specialises in very early pregnancy scans all clinics are different hun @OneMoreLittleFox I've got my private scan appointment tomorrow morning 😊

Jade57 · 04/10/2022 23:06

@821k hope the scan goes well. I had a 6 week scan done and couldn't see anything. The sonographer was trying to point out the heartbeat but I couldn't see it. Just don't get your hopes up at this early stage it's unlikely you will see anything

OneMoreLittleFox · 04/10/2022 23:16

@821k well I wish you the best for your scan. I am aware of the differences in clinics. Diagnostic imaging is what I went to uni to study 🤷‍♀️

821k · 04/10/2022 23:20

Hubby convinced me not to wait until tomorrow morning to test. 😯

Hoping for BFP September/October

@DiscipleMama a lovely line! Congratulations!

@OneMoreLittleFox yes im a midwife, we accept referrals as soon as you see a line but wouldn’t see anyone for booking until 7weeks. I was told by my consultant when I had an ectopic to get a scan straight away to rule out ectopic, would you see that very early? It was at just over 5weeks but I’m not sure what they saw on scan bar lots of blood

OneMoreLittleFox · 05/10/2022 07:10

@Mummyme87 when it is a suspected pregnancy of unknown origin, due to the nature of fallopian tubes etc they want to find out asap if there is an ectopic pregnancy. At 5 weeks there is still not a great deal to see, but if that is in a fallopian tube you would want to know. Most ectopic pregnancies are not viable and can become quite serious as we all know. They are not just looking for a pregnancy, they are looking for fluid, inflammation etc.

OneMoreLittleFox · 05/10/2022 07:11

@DiscipleMama congratulations that is a great line.

OneMoreLittleFox · 05/10/2022 07:18

@Mummyme87 I did write this already, but MN appears to have swallowed that post. I wanted to add I am not a sonographer, I did my time with U/S for uni etc but I chose another path.

Mummyme87 · 05/10/2022 07:21

@OneMoreLittleFox thank you. My knowledge on scans is fairly minimal, can do all the other part of pregnancy just not USS 😬 that is helpful. Who knows if I’ll ever get pregnant again, I had a right salpingectomy so only have my left tube now. I do have two healthy children so should be grateful

PatientlyImpatient · 05/10/2022 07:23

Congratulations @DiscipleMama! So happy for you x

My2boysaremyworld · 05/10/2022 07:27

mamazac · 05/10/2022 07:27

@Mummyme87 the body is an amazing thing. So hopefully your left Tube will pick up the slack. Ever thought of training in U/S for EPAC/EPAU? My local clinic has a midwife undertake the scans.

DiscipleMama · 05/10/2022 07:31

Thanks everyone.
@My2boysaremyworld 12-14 dpo I'd say. CD 27. Now I KNOW I am not mad with the symptoms and the vvvvf line the other day

My2boysaremyworld · 05/10/2022 07:31

@DiscipleMama wishing you a happy healthy 9 months xx

DiscipleMama · 05/10/2022 07:33

I wish I could share the good fortune with you all xxx

thelma57 · 05/10/2022 08:00

Congratulations @DiscipleMama what lovely news on a rainy morning! Wishing you a healthy and happy 9 months ❤️

Mummyme87 · 05/10/2022 08:15

@OneMoreLittleFox yeah are EPU and FMU both have midwife Sonographers but I really don’t have much interest 😬😬 I am a labour ward co-ordinator so do that at least once a week the. My other shift is bleep holder for the unit, and third shift will be triage or looking after women and I really really still love caring for women and catching babies, just hate the politics. Maybe one day scanning may be appealing but not yet.
praying my left tube does the extra work 🙏🏻

Ballygowenwater · 05/10/2022 08:37

Congratulations @DiscipleMama that’s a lovely clear line!

BFN for me this morning at 9DPO, I was trying to hold out till Friday to test but didn’t quite make it! Disappointed but fairly sure it’s accurate as no symptoms here at all. On to AF and the next month.

wellhelloitsme · 05/10/2022 08:55

@DiscipleMama congrats! Flowers

Shiny88 · 05/10/2022 11:55

@My2boysaremyworld aww sorry to hear you was late Aswell. There's something really cruel about being late because it gives you that little bit more hope doesn't it? Even though I had a BFN I still was wondering if maybe I could be and my Hormones just aren't strong enough yet.
Hopefully this cycle is out cycle xx

Shiny88 · 05/10/2022 11:56

@DiscipleMama congratulations 🥳 here's to a healthy and happy 9months x
