SMEP - anyone giving this a try this month and want to join me?

New to mumsnet 🙋‍♀️ and I've seen loads of threads where everyone is so lovely and supportive so thought I'd post. This is our 4th cycle ttc #2, 1st cycle giving SMEP a try as I've seen so many success stories. With our first, we got so lucky and ended up pregnant on our first month trying so this waiting is a bit of a shock, although I know out 1st was the exception not the norm! Would love to hear any success stories, or any other ladies that want to compare notes this month x

@Aurora81 it is a little annoying not knowing but I suppose it's only one day difference and your in the tww now. Looks like you got plenty BD in though which is good. Baby dust to you this cycle. I agree day before ovulation definitely the important one and we gotta do what feels right for us. My OH was in the mood this morning so why not. Still gotta have some fun with it snd not be totally regimented

So my evening primrose oil is put away and the TWW begins 😊✨😊

Going to start taking calc Fluor tissue salts from today to help support Implantation.

@EdinburghGirl1 exactly!! 😊 When the mood is right the timing must be right 😅 I definitely feel before ovulation is the most important time to dtd, as I ovulate 12- 24 hours later. I guess it depends on how fast ovulation occurs after a peak for others. We have to adjust the SMEP plan to our own individual cycles.

I woke up at 5.45am to BD this morning 😂😂 and went back to sleep I’m bloody tired 🥱😂 if that’s not dedication I don’t know what is.
so far bd cd8,10,12 - so far 3 flashing smileys - hoping for my static tomorrow 🤞…

hows everyone feeling ?

dad is absolutely fine now. He was operated on very quickly as he got a neighbour to drive him to hospital rather than wait for an ambulance and as soon as he got to a&e they whisked him right in for tests then surgery. He said the scariest thing was that he knew something was very wrong but it wasn’t mega painful it was more like a tightening across his chest and his hand went tingly and had the sweats. He went into hospital as he knew it wasn’t right but he didn’t suspect a heart attack as he thought they would be agonising pain. He recovered so quickly though and his tests at around 8/9 weeks were like he’s never had a heart attack and the results were better than most people his age who have never had one! He was completely signed off from having to see anyone from week 12. It’s very weird and they have no idea what caused it. It could be hereditary though so I’ve got to be mindful but if it is no idea where he got it from as my grandparents are 90 with no illnesses and are both still mobile etc.

@Aurora81 even if you’re not sure which day, you done plenty of dtd and now in 2ww. If you test early I would go by the later day in case so you don’t test too early or if you don’t test early expect AF could be a day late if you like to wait until it’s due

I think every day there will be more of us in the 2ww. I can’t wait to see the bfp’s

@allgoodthings84 glad your dad is fine now and great he's fully recovered and healthy.

@NSx I think you and I will be going into tww together. I've heard of some people getting lots of flashing smileys but everyone is so different. I didn't get any last month. 2 circles then static. When I used ttc#1 I had 2 in a row. Well done on getting up early to BD. Commitment indeed. At least you went back to sleep. Im an early bird as it my DD so often up at that time 😂 she's at her dads this weekend so got a lie in.

Feeling good and positive but always do around this time. Thanks hormones 😊 plus you feel like your actually doing something toward the bfp but afterwards it's out your control and you just have to wait it out.

@NSx at least you could rest afterwards 😁 fx for a static ☺ tomorrow!! I don't know if we should dtd today or just wait until tomorrow.

@allgoodthings84 thankfully your dad was lucky that he got to the hospital quickly and they attended to him swiftly. Also a lot of people ignore signs, so I am glad your dad trusted his gut. Yeah, I think I am going to go with today being 1dpo and sure I will know at the end of my cycle.

@EdinburghGirl1 last cycle I had L, H, H then peak, and this cycle I had L, L, H, H and H & P in one day... Well because I tested twice on the day I got peak. Hopefully you will get a peak a bit later than last cycle.

@Aurora81 thanks. Even if it's peak tomorrow I don't mind as just don't want to ovulate anymore earlier than CD11. I'll let you know in the morning how it is. I can feel some ovulation pains so expecting the peak tomorrow but who knows

mim not sure how long after peak I should keep testing with cheapie opk’s? Premom says to carry on a few days after to make sure it’s gone down and staying down but not sure how long for?

@EdinburghGirl1 i just tested my LH it’s only 0.55 it’s still low but defo rising so going for a static tomorrow god willing 😏
getting up this morning was brutal I won’t lie 😂 might try to do another morning tomorrow since I’m back to work Monday.
@Aurora81 what day are u on? When did u DTD? U ovulated on cd12 right when was that ?

well I’ve had the worst day ever .. was getting ready to go for lunch in the sunshine with my fiancé and my cat decided to eat a bouquet of flowers in the spare room that was locked, he ate a lily which is poison to cats, had pollen all over his face when I found him,
we immediately rushed him to the animal hospital in Bearsden and he’s been admitted for 2 days.
they are having to sedate him And flush his entire system out to try to prevent him from having kidney failure - eating lily’s can be fatal.
needless to say I’ve been crying all afternoon and now treated myself to a glass of whispering Angel cos I’m upto high doe 😩🥹😩😩😩

@NSx and so sorry to hear about your cat. A glass of whispering angel sounds amazing. Hopefully chills you out a little bit. I'm out for dinner with DP tonight so looking forward to a night out in town. It's festival time though so its going to be busy

Happy Saturday everyone, I hope you've all had lovely days. I have been an unbearably moody cow today (mood swings, tears, the lot). I feel like I've been hit with AF x 1000. Hoping I'm a little more pleasant tomorrow. My poor OH hasn't known what to do (besides feed me cookies).

So I was sure I'd get a static this morning after my flashing yesterday but got another flashy so looks like I will ovulate a little later this month maybe CD12 which I'm quite happy about. I started taking pregnacare this month so don't know if that's helped lengthen my follicular phase a little. I was sure I'd get my peak so we DTD first thing 😂 now I kinda wish we hadn't as if it's peak tomorrow then that's going to be several days in a row. I should've tested first. My goodness trying to work out when you should dtd whilst ttc is a bit of a head f**k. At least come mid next week it's back to whenever we want to 😆 the dramas us girls go through

I got my static this morning 🤪 so cd13 Cheapie was 1.0 so positive but I’ll check this afternoon too

Hey everyone! Hope you had a great night and meal @EdinburghGirl1! Had such a busy day at work yesterday (work in weddings) so didn't get chance to do a cheap OPK yesterday afternoon. Now CD10 and got a blank circle again today so guessing I've a few days to go until ovulation yet. Must admit I'm definitely not monitoring for ovulation as well as the rest of you seem to. Hoping this method means I'm covered even if it's not totally accurate. TTC is definitely a rollercoaster!
Hope the TWW is treating those that are in it well, definitely the worst part for me! Determined not to test early this month but I have zero will power.
Sorry if I've missed this already but are you guys mostly trying for number #1 or do you have other DC? 😊

@fsr111 if it was blank today you still have a few days before you ovulate I'd say. Just keep testing and I'm sure it will happen soon. I'm ttc#2. I have a 5 year old girl with my ex husband but will be my OH first. Can't wait for him to be a dad

@NSx so sorry to read about your poor cat! I hope all will be okay. Lucky that you were at home when it happened. Yay!! For the static smiley ☺

@EdinburghGirl1 I hope you had a great time last night! 😊 That's great that you got another flashing ☺ and ovulation will be later this cycle. It's hard even with using opks to pinpoint ovulation as our bodies carey on regardless, but all we can do is give it our best shot.

Morning all!

DPO 3/4 today. Going to try and hold off on testing until Sunday, which would make me DPO 10/11 (if I have the willpower...)

@fsr111 - you're completely right there, it is a rollercoaster. And I'm already not enjoying my TTW... 🙈 we're trying for #1 ☺️ how about you?

@dobby13 I am 2dpo (I think) and I was going do a cheapie at 12dpo, but I doubt I will last that long considering I bought the easy@home LH & hcg test kit... The cost of the FRER's is a deterrent, but the cheapies are another story 😅
