SMEP - anyone giving this a try this month and want to join me?

New to mumsnet 🙋‍♀️ and I've seen loads of threads where everyone is so lovely and supportive so thought I'd post. This is our 4th cycle ttc #2, 1st cycle giving SMEP a try as I've seen so many success stories. With our first, we got so lucky and ended up pregnant on our first month trying so this waiting is a bit of a shock, although I know out 1st was the exception not the norm! Would love to hear any success stories, or any other ladies that want to compare notes this month x

@allgoodthings84 I'm loving this gorgeous sunny weather and it's nearly the weekend. Just been out a nice walk in the sunshine on my lunch break. Sorry I don't take bbt so can't help with data but I'm sure plenty of others can

@NatGee oohhh so temperature can co up and down a bit? I thought it was just an incline upwards then a drop before AF and occasionally a dip around dpo7.

The weather is lovely but unfortunately been stuck inside at work all day booo. Finished now though and off to get bbq food 🌞

@allgoodthings84 yeah, its not linear it all zig zags a bit but you can infer a trend and clearly see where the follicular and luteal phase end and begin. Even though this is a pretty perfect trajectory, with all the right indicators, the person who shared it with me didn't fall that cycle. The line plummeting at the end represents when they were heading towards their AF and it didn't fail...

I am just finished work too since 3pm and I literally can't wait to chill. Will be back on later to catch up with you all 😎☀ 😎

@NatGee I always use FMU until I get a peak, but then again I never got a high and peak in the same day, so that's why I used it again yesterday evening. How did you get on today on your CB?

Where are you all in your cycles right now? CB opks, opk and smep plan updates... 🌞We are determined ladies doing SMEP in the heat 😆

@Aurora81 I begin measuring from next Tuesday :) I would like to avoid testing multiple times a day - but wonder if there's no way round it. What if i were to use my urine at around lunch time?

@NatGee i test in my work at lunch 😂 but I work in a gps office so I have to be careful with my tests that no1 sees them 😂😂

Welllllllllll i have been doing some research about whether to use preseed this cycle but I dont like the price, or the fact it has parabens, in any case, apparently egg whites do the trick as well. A much cheaper alternative, unsure if ill give it a go though haha

@NatGee egg whites 🤮🤣. I’m using preseed this cycle I got it in boots for £13.50 or something on sale, I normally use the CB lube but it’s like £17 lol …

@NSx hopefully no one is rummaging through the bins! fingers crossed you don't peak when at work xxx

@NatGee i normally do the CB one in the morning before work; a cheapie aswell & then one at work, I finish at 6 so worst case I would go home and DTD 🥲🤣

@NSx hot hot hot but lovely when we can relax after work 😁 before my sink episode I would put the test back in the packaging and bring them home 😅

@NatGee I usually only test with the cb in the morning and if it is low I just do one cheapie opk at lunch time. When I get a flashing ☺ I test twice a day, and when the line gets darker I sometimes test with cheapies 3 times a day.

So I don't know if I have ovulated or not. I had left and right ovary pain earlier 🤷🏻‍♀️

I only use easy@home cheapies and they seem to work well. I do once a day around 5pm from CD9 until the line gets a reading of 0.40 or above then go to morning at 7am too. I peak very quickly so need to be ready or I could miss it

@allgoodthings84 I found that lighting affects the test pic and so I could a pic of the same test in 2 different rooms in our house and it would give different readings. Already worrying we didn't do enough even though we dtd loads

@Aurora81 yep lighting is definitely an issue. I can do it in the exact same spot and the picture looks different on different days but I just look for a decent increase and decrease. I’ve not had an problem getting the peak yet apart from the first month (before we started ttc) which looked like I peaked overnight

@allgoodthings84 yeah I prefer to trust my own eyes 😂so still getting left and right ovary pain... 🤔 So it will be interesting to see what my temp does in the morning
