I don’t know what I’m doing with the emojis this month. Got the star signs in there though!

Cycle 10 for me 😀

Best of luck to everyone!

@LavenderWillow great we’re TWW buddies πŸ€ͺ
@NatGee its not bad at all is it, easy enough πŸ€žπŸŽ‰

ExPatHereForAChat · 19/08/2022 16:12

@Plantymcplant I wouldn't worry as lots of professionals advise every other day. I worry sometimes we DTD too much over the fertile period so maybe the sperm aren't in top form Wink

I've also seen loads of mumsnet users saying the month they finally conceived they only had sex once or twice the whole month.

I'm thinking if this month isn't successful I'm going to try reducing how often we DTD to see if this helps.

It's so easy to second guess everything, isn't it?

Nichelette · 19/08/2022 16:48

@Plantymcplant I find it a bit of a struggle tbh. Both work f/t, then by the time 1yo is in bed and we've had dinner etc we're either exhausted or full of dinner. On the days when I've planned it with DH it just seems really un-sexy. Pretty sure this month is a fail too because we didn't manage yesterday on CD15 so we've only covered CD11 & 13 😣

Tophy124 · 19/08/2022 16:58

@Plantymcplant I was always told every other day was fine and then on the day that you ovulate I’d try again on that day if you didn’t already.

I have so many friends who got pregnant from β€˜just a few times a month’ so I find it seems like such a luck of the draw!

calipoppy · 19/08/2022 17:33

@Plantymcplant we dtd the least this month since we started trying (3 times) and it's the month I've got a BFP so you just never know!

NatGee · 19/08/2022 17:39

@SpringTulips22 sorry to hear, a new fresh start for you guys

@hipposinacircle welcome, fingers crossed cycle #5 is the one. yeah theres loads of good reviews online, doesnt hurt to try

@Plantymcplant there's a thread on here where a bunch of ladies fell after only BDing five days or more before they ovulated, so no, you don't need to DTD every day. Heres the link to it, I hope it encourages you cos it did me x

EdinburghGirl1 · 19/08/2022 17:57

@CDD1992 hopefully you get a chance to sneak away for a quickie. So annoying life getting in the way of ttc πŸ˜†

@SpringTulips22 sorry AF arrived. Be kind to yourself.

@hipposinacircle welcome and fingers crossed for you this month.

@Plantymcplanti think every other day is fine and keeps you covered without trying to overdo it. Looking back at Ovia I fell pregnant with DD dtd CD11, CD13 and CD15, CD16 and think I ovulated CD15. It really only does take once and one little swimmer and a good egg

Mummyme87 · 19/08/2022 18:07

@Plantymcplant we just could do it everyday anymore. Too tired with the kids and life. Plus it’s not necessary and most fertility specialists don’t recommend it

Mummyme87 · 19/08/2022 18:09

Also, my ectopic pregnancy was conceived when we DTD once and weren’t ttc.

Doodle10 · 19/08/2022 18:36

Hi all, I’m 5DPO today and doing better than last month in the TWW so far so fingers crossed I can hold off testing until AF arrives this month. I just wanted to get your thoughts on alcohol during the TWW. I have given up completely since we started trying properly but it is my best friends birthday tomorrow and I think she will be a bit annoyed if I don’t drink, just wanted to get your thoughts?

NatGee · 19/08/2022 18:55

@Doodle10 lots of people carry on with life as normal only to find out they're pregnant once they've missed AF and go on to have healthy pregnancies. Think it'd be ok if you were to have a couple.
I've not been drinking as usual now we're TTCing but had a family do last weekend and had a couple. I'm sure it'll be fine

CDD1992 · 19/08/2022 19:09

Any thoughts on my OPK's? I thought I was getting there yesterday but now they're just getting lower and lower. Is that normal?

Charl881 · 19/08/2022 19:32

@Plantymcplant @ExPatHereForAChat That was me this cycle, only DTD O-1 and O-5 but one of them must have done the trick! Less is definitely more sometimes.

Orangesaretheonly · 19/08/2022 19:51

Have seen two pregnancy announcements today. Almost sent me over the edge.

Feeling really low today. My apps are predicting ovulation some point next week. Usually cd14-16, am currently on cd8.
I could cry 😭

I told a fairly close friend today that I'd had a chemical pregnancy this month and she was so dismissive, oh it's just a period. Yeah but I'd seen those words on the test, and although the lines were faint they were there! Going to have a glass of wine and a curry tonight I think! Sending a hug to anyone who needs one πŸ’•

calipoppy · 19/08/2022 20:06

So sorry you're having a low day @Orangesaretheonly ❀️ ttc is hard enough without insensitive comments like that. Hope the curry and wine work their magic! Get a rom com on too xxx

cavebaby · 19/08/2022 20:18

@Orangesaretheonly It's not a period, it's a miscarriage. Sorry your friend was so insensitive and sending hugs back to you x

Nichelette · 19/08/2022 20:19

@Doodle10 I didn't change anything drinking wise before I got pregnant. I'd generally get a bottle of wine on a Friday which is probably classed as binging. I'm sure a few drinks as a one off is fine.

@Orangesaretheonly I'm sorry. I'm finding the announcements hard too. Our neighbour opposite just returned home for the first time with her newborn and I so desperately wish it was us. Happy for her but incredibly jealous too. Definitely treat yourself x

NatGee · 19/08/2022 20:21

@CDD1992 mine are doing the same πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™€οΈ my first cycle trying them out so inexperienced. My go to is the cb opk

@Orangesaretheonly if only some people knew how much effort it is ttc, then surely they'd be a little more sympathetic πŸ˜” yeah, can be hard hearing of others success at falling, and we wish we were there sharing the same feeling. I get sent pictures daily of my three young niblings and long for it to be my turn but try to be happy and enjoy them even if they're not mine xx

Mummyme87 · 19/08/2022 20:59

@CDD1992 i think you’ve missed your peak, I think it was overnight CD12/13.

@Orangesaretheonly so sorry lovely. Absolutely have wine and curry xx

on the alcohol note I don’t not drink. I was shit faced last Saturday and will be drinking this Sunday and next weekend due to various events. Don’t think it’s necessary to stop completely while ttc

Aimee1995 · 19/08/2022 21:08

I am hopping onto this thread. I am CD13 but last month didn't ovulate till CD22. This month we have decided to DTD every other day from CD7. We are staying with the my MIL at the moment and expected that to make it harder but have managed to so far and go home Sunday. DP has started to obsess with the OPKs this month as we have been around our nieces and nephew which always makes him want the BFP more. Its lovely he is taking such an interest but also adds more pressure

CDD1992 · 19/08/2022 21:14

@Mummyme87 do you think if it was overnight 12/13 that it lines up with my temps? X

NatGee · 19/08/2022 21:38

@Aimee1995 welcome! Our niblings have also made us very broody but can't say my DH takes any interest at all in opks or the other techniques we discuss here ☺️ so lucky you! Try to enjoy the ride, and have fun, line up some fun activities to take your mind off it. I know it's easier said than done. Is this your first cycle ttc ?

Glawen · 19/08/2022 22:09

Welcome @Aimee1995

Sorry you're feeling down @Orangesaretheonly. Hope the wine and curry helps. It's a shame your friend had that reaction! I am feeling a bit overwhelmed with the TTC too, you're not alone, we're all here for you!

Something to make you laugh ladies... anyone in this cycle, we're in Gemini territory. Best of luck to us 🀣🀣 (self confessed horoscope lover) x

CDD1992 · 19/08/2022 22:12

@Glawen that's concerning... I've known my best friend for over 20 years. Shes a gemini. Has been a complete psycho since the day I met her πŸ˜‚

Glawen · 19/08/2022 22:15

@CDD1992 yepppp, I feel ya! The three I have in the family are off the wall 🀣🀣🀣
