Soaps bug me with this kind of stuff! Especially Corrie with Violet. They could have at least done more tries just to make it more realistic! I've never known anyone conceive that quickly.

i fell pregnant with dd2 with one night of unprotected sex. I also know someone who fell pregnant using a youget (sp?) pot and a tuckey baster

Actually, I have told a lie. I do have a friend who said it took her one cycle to get pg. It's just all three of those soaps though. You would have thought that at least one of the women would have taken more than one try .

mine weren't one cycle they were one shag lol

Celebrities seem to do it all the time in RL though. Lily Allen is about 3 months pg and she's been seeing her bf for about... oh four months .

i accept that people do get pg after one shag (after all, it just takes one) but they never explore infertility or problematic pg or realistic ttc in soaps.

its either "omg im pg and it could be anyones" or "i want a baby... what dya know, its bfp".

in emmerdale they could have really explored perdy's recurrent mc, gone through the ivf process etc instead of giving her a corneal ep and a hysterectomy. then getting katie as surrogate and pg 1st time.

in corrie they could have taken into consideration that violet has one tube and would (probably) taken a bit longer, and gone a bit ttc loopy (as we do)

in hollyoaks after handling jacqui's mmc really, really well they've royally f*cked up by getting tina to act as surrogate and (surprise!) getting knocked up in one go in the loo with a turkey baster.

nope, ive started boycotting soaps when someone gets pg on them
so i flit between them

ive tried to watch abiut three programmes in the last fortnight and given up from boredom after a bout five minutes..one was eastenders to see if there was a tin of formula on it, one was grand designs last night and decided i couldn't stand it for another sec and can't rmember the other

lol i can only concentrate on thomas nowadays

I thought Holyoaks dealt really well with Izzy being unable to get pg and her issues with Ben having another child though

I like how when the kids get to a certain age, the family move somewhere special and are never seen again!

Me too, but it clashes with DD bedtime (and recently so does the re-run on E4+1 as she isn't sleeping well).
