Nice to see a mix of ages on here! I've only just turned 36 @NiceToChat88 and @LorrenK. Older mum's seem to run in my family tbh, just the way it goes sometimes.

I always try and delay testing until AF is late... Which is never so 🀦 already been to GP, referred to fertility consultant and will start IVF in January if nothing has happened before then. For those thinking of going to your GP soon, happy to share experiences and what to expect. I would say if you're over 35 and it's been 6 months or more trying you can go to your GP now - don't let them fob you off! And it can take time so go sooner to get the ball rolling on it all

Mummyme87 · 29/07/2022 07:36

@RugbyGirl1 yes I heard over 35 could start testing after 6months. My GP won’t refer to fertility services until 12m though. I’m hoping I won’t get to that point but it’s not far off now. I don’t know when I’ll hear about my bloods, interested about my thyroid function

NiceToChat88 · 29/07/2022 07:39

@RugbyGirl1 I went to the GP last month and I've only had the 21 day blood test which came back high at 63 so confirmed ovulation. As I'm 'only' cycle 8 they wanted me to try for another few and then we can take the tests further.

My GP didn't seem concerned and said that it's so common for women to take longer than a year but I'm going to push for more tests as if there's something wrong there's no point putting it off! Is the wait for referral quite long? Feel like the NHS is under so much pressure since Covid and that's my concern, if the GP wants me to go for scans etc I'm so worried it takes forever to get an appt.

ExPatHereForAChat · 29/07/2022 08:02

Well about 10dpo and a negative FRER this morning. Shit. If you need me today I'll be holding up my negative test in the daylight by my window about every hour 'just in case'.Grin

NiceToChat88 · 29/07/2022 08:14

@ExPatHereForAChat that's exactly me too 🀣🀣 right under my phone torch inspecting it then fish it out the bin 30 mins later just to triple check!!

Tropicana1 · 29/07/2022 08:38

Question ladies - this is typically the first month I haven't tracked BBT and generally feeling much less stressed because of it BUT got my peak opk yesterday (clearblue and cheapie) and done another one today and still darker than the control. Now I normally only get a really short surge, can sometimes miss it if I don't test twice a day. Apps all have today as ovulation but if I'm still surging can ladies who temp and get a prolonged surge tell me does your ovulation usually occur after the first day of peak or the second? Obviously would happen when I've decided to stop tracki my bbt🀣

BiscuitLover3678 · 29/07/2022 09:02

AF arrived loud and clear so I’ve made a May thread. See you ladies!

@Tropicana1 i find bbt hard to track, so many things influence it - so it’s not very accurate for me πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

NiceToChat88 · 29/07/2022 09:03

@BiscuitLover3678 hope you're feeling okay? ✨ I'll no doubt see you on that thread in a couple of days xx

RugbyGirl1 · 29/07/2022 09:04

@NiceToChat88 has your GP suggested any other bloods? I had to have day 3 (LH and FSH), prolactin, testosterone, day 21, thyroid, clamydia antibody and rubella immunity (this one is a pain in the ass as if you're not immune, like me, you have to have the jab and as it's a live vaccine you can't TTC for a whole month πŸ™„) and DH had to have a SA before she could even submit the referral. All this takes time. It may be different in different areas though I guess? The referral was finally submitted in April and I saw the consultant in June.

@Mummyme87 which bloods have you had done?

NiceToChat88 · 29/07/2022 09:11

@RugbyGirl1 they never said what the next steps are, she just said check 21 day test to "get the ball rolling" and see how things go. I'm actually tempted to give the GP a call this morning and see what their thoughts are x

@RugbyGirl1 I take it all your blood work came back okay? X

NSx · 29/07/2022 09:20

I think mine is enroute I’m due Sunday. Hope you’re ok, see you on the May thread πŸ’•

I don't track bbt but I got my peak v early morning and had o pains that evening around 12hours later then tests went light again and have stayed that way ever since. Last month was same around 12/15 hrs after first dark test. Not sure if that really answers your question but I always thought ovulation was 24hrs after peak but mine defo isn't!

Orangesaretheonly · 29/07/2022 09:23

Am officially in the 2WW. Let the anxiety and symptom spotting commence! We are away next week so that will hopefully keep my mind busy! I think I'm still in for an April? Although both my girls were prem born the month before due dates- so never know! 🀞🏻

RugbyGirl1 · 29/07/2022 09:37

@NiceToChat88 yep it's worth asking to see if they'll do all the other bloods as I think they're fairly standard before being referred. They'll need to be done at some point! My bloods all came back within normal parameters, apart from progesterone 'day 21' which I had to repeat a couple of times as the first two were under 30. They put it down to not calculating the right day (don't they know I'm obsessed with OPKs, temping and knowing my cycle inside out!?!) When actually I think I have low progesterone....

@BiscuitLover3678 sorry to hear AF arrived - will be joining you on the May thread soon I'm sure!

@ExPatHereForAChat you may not be out yet, could be late implantation??

Mummyme87 · 29/07/2022 09:38

@Tropicana1 i read that it’s 12-36hrs after your first positive but who bloody knows. I get short surges, it’s over and done with in 24hrs.

sorry AF has arrived @BiscuitLover3678 but fresh cycle fresh start. Be gentle with yourself today, I’ll probably be joining the May thread on Monday.

@RugbyGirl1 ive had LH and FSH, progesterone all done twice on cycle 6 and 8 (cycle 6 progesterone was low and cycle 8 was normal). That was all done at work. Last Friday GP did Prolactin, Testosterone and Thyroid. Awaiting appt for TVS. Have never been told there’s a problem on scan all looked healthy previously so hopefully same this time.

RugbyGirl1 · 29/07/2022 09:39

@Orangesaretheonly good luck to you!!! I'm only 3dpo so only a couple of days ahead of you! Glad you have something to take you're mins off the wait πŸ™ƒ

EdinburghGirl1 · 29/07/2022 09:57

@BiscuitLover3678 sorry to hear this. Hope you're doing ok. I don't track BBT so not sure. I used CB digital so stopped once I got my peak. I think I ovulated the day after I got it as was still having ovulation pains that day but who knows lol

ExPatHereForAChat · 29/07/2022 10:04

I'm sorry @BiscuitLover3678 I hope it hasn't hit you too hard and you have something nice planned like a hot bath with Prosecco (my "treat" last month).

Thank you for making another thread, looks like I'll be over to join shortly xx

ExPatHereForAChat · 29/07/2022 10:08

@RugbyGirl1 I had my BFP with DS and my MMC at this stage but I know you're right, there's still a small chance.

I've had no cramps or CM though so I'm pretty resigned to being out this month. I tried hard not to get my hopes high this month but my hands were literally shaking as I took the test this morning. So stupid!

DH is trying to be kind but he just told me "I'm not too upset because it will happen when it happens but I'm not looking forward to you being down for the next few days like you always are when it's a negative". He meant it in a nice way, as in, he doesn't want me to feel sad because it makes him sad. But I still feel crappy about it :(

Summerbreeze111 · 29/07/2022 10:28

Nypie · 28/07/2022 15:34

@Tropicana1 I find a bit of both works pretty well πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

@Summerbreeze111 @ViMa1820 how is the fertile week going?? I think I'm done peak lh is not being kind to my digestive system :(

Hii πŸ™‚ ahh it's going slow to be honest, I'm on cd16 and still no flashey smileys / faint ones on opk. Started to panic but I usually do ovulate around cycle day 18ish so I need to be patient and give it a few more days!

I've also had light cramps the past 2 days which is a bit strange for me but I'm trying not to worry, which is easier said than done!

Have you had your peak lh? When did you get it?

Good luck xx

NiceToChat88 · 29/07/2022 10:40

Thanks for the advice @RugbyGirl1 I'll call the doctors on Monday morning and see where we can go from there.

This is very random and maybe TMI but I woke up in the middle of the night last night with the strongest shooting pain in my bum, never happened before and I was straight on Google seeing if this was a symptom 🀣 I think I'm going crazy!!

Aurora81 · 29/07/2022 10:48

Oh my, I am a πŸ¦• so at 40 πŸ™ˆSaying that, my AMH came back at 19.5, so I am delighted. The consultant said that was amazing at my age, and then proceeded to say politely I was old.... 😐 πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ
