@Tropicana1 lol fingers crossed

@LorrenK I think it's so easy to say you'll be chilled about it all and then as soon as you get started it's so easy to stat obsessing about it.

It's awful they use that term 'geriatric' I'm 37 and will be 38 in November, so, as long as things go to plan will be having a 'geriatric' pregnancy this time roundπŸ˜‚πŸ™„

Nichelette · 28/07/2022 16:40

I'm 36 so I'm past it too πŸ˜‚. CD24. Convinced it's not the month but also trying not to test until I'm actually late. Due date would be 11th anyway, DS is 7th so don't fancy potentially missing his birthday. If I get AF on Sunday I'll be due on my own birthday instead πŸ˜‚

NSx · 28/07/2022 17:00

I just turned 35 last week πŸ˜°πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ πŸ‘΅πŸ» I have no living children yet β€”

here’s hoping we all get our BFP before we’re past it πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ joking 😘😘😘 xxx

hipposinacircle · 28/07/2022 17:48

I'm 38 in November too. I'm sure a combination of pregnancy hormones and hearing that I'm a geriatric on a regular basis won't make me feel at all stabby 🀣

On second thoughts I will take the geriatric comments if it means I will see a BFP soon!

LorrenK · 28/07/2022 18:40

Any tips to get through 2WW? Also how early do you test? Do you get the early response ones or just wait until you are due on or late?

LorrenK · 28/07/2022 18:45

@EdinburghGirl1 yeah its funny how you think you’ll be cool about it. I used to say we won’t really actively try, we’ll just leave it to chance but now after doing research and reading more about the fertile window and how it isn’t plain sailing for alot of people I think it’s best for us to try properly….

It’s hard one but I plan lots of little things to keep me busy. I also make sure I have something decent going on (if I can) around a few days before AF is due. You can early rest from around 6 days before missed period so that’s 5 days before period is due. So it’s the first week and a bit that you can’t do anything!

Early test

I personally find early testing helps as gives me something to do during that final week and breaks the news slowly as it’s disappointing but I can go β€œoh well we don’t know for sure I’m not” but by the time AF comes im used to the idea of a negative. They’re expensive though! And for those who’ve had chemical I can totally understand why they might not be a good idea.

BiscuitLover3678 · 28/07/2022 18:48

And for all of you worrying you’re oldies I spoke to someone recently who had her three at 41, 42 and 44. 😘

Does anyone have a plan of when they would try and get extra help?

LorrenK · 28/07/2022 18:54

@BiscuitLover3678 ah that’s interesting, I was of the impression most people would say don’t test early, wait until you are late but that totally makes sense about gearing yourself up for a negative slowly. I like that approach. And I guess if you get an early negative the positive will be even more exciting… expect the worst hope for the best approach to avoid huge disappointment.

That’s my approach! But it’s also because I’m so impatient haha. I admire those who can wait! I’m on cycle 10 I think so a part of me wants to really try and forget next month. I’m not sure that’s possible though!

OP posts:
LorrenK · 28/07/2022 19:36

@BiscuitLover3678 I’m also very impatient!! I mean how can you not be! Good luck for this cycle!! Xx

Tropicana1 · 28/07/2022 20:24

@BiscuitLover3678 im the same as you - find
It weirdly less disappointing to see daily negatives from day 8 then I'm still expecting negatives by the time I'm out, rather than waiting and hoping just to get a resounding negative later. I only waste cheapies though which were around £8 for 100 so I pretty much pee on them for a past time 🀣
CD4 and actively on my period? Yea why not, take a pregnancy test 🀣

Mummyme87 · 28/07/2022 20:31

I’m a midwife, we definitely don’t use the term geriatric anymore πŸ˜‚ it is however definitely true fertility decreases significantly at 35 and the older you get the risk factors increase. I’m 35, and when I spoke to one of the co sultanas at work about only having one tube etc l, she was like, that’s the least of your problems! πŸ˜¬πŸ˜‚ I was like, cheers πŸ˜‚

I'm feeling fairly out this month. My CM is cloudy mucus which I believe is indicative of an incoming period, like in the next few days. Bleugh. Hate this part, waiting for the inevitable

Mummyme87 · 28/07/2022 20:34

@BiscuitLover3678 I have done bloods already and been referred for a trans vaginal scan. Gp said at 12months she can refer to nhs fertility, wouldn’t be eligible for ivf as overweight and have two children already but she said they can help in other ways, even just support and suggestions. I contacted GP going into cycle 10 this month.

NSx · 28/07/2022 20:39

@Mummyme87 i was 34 a couple of weeks ago, am I now doomed that I’m 35 πŸ€ͺπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜

Mummyme87 · 28/07/2022 20:45

@NSx its all downhill from here πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Thank you that’s really interesting to know. I should get in touch with mine soon really. I think I don’t want to admit it really. :(

@BiscuitLover3678 i spoke to my doctor last cycle after the two chemicals and had bloods done (all fine). Not been back in touch with them yet to arrange any further tests, going to wait until the year is up which will be September for me so basically two more cycles of trying. With the new job I kind of don’t want to be thinking of tests as well just yet, would rather wait a little longer.

MrsCristiano · 28/07/2022 22:11

@Charl881 ohh congrats on the job!!

Nypie · 29/07/2022 00:58

@ViMa1820 I definitely get you, ovulation has kicked my butt this cycle! And yes get energised and on it! Fertile week is over for me we could try one more for luck 2moro but I'm so so tired now πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

EdinburghGirl1 · 29/07/2022 06:04

@LorrenK as @BiscuitLover3678 said I think it's good to try and having some things to keep you busy. My DP and I have just booked a holiday for September so been doing planning for that which has kept me going this week. I'm now 8dpo. I think with testing it's a personal choice really. I'm going to see how I feel this cycle in the next few days and having any symptoms. When I was pregnant before I just knew I had to test at 11dpo and it was positive

EdinburghGirl1 · 29/07/2022 06:08

@Nypie oh no I hope the bloating eases and you feel more energised. I had a lot of bloating last month. Good luck for the next few days

Mummyme87 · 29/07/2022 06:42

10dpo today, and I think a BFN on a FRER. If a properly quint I can see probably another indent. If I’m neg tomorrow I’m most definitely out as AF is due Monday.

NiceToChat88 · 29/07/2022 06:46

I think I'm out this month too, AF due in Tuesday and could feel the bloating and light cramps last night so definitely think she's on her way
