Hi all, first cycle TTC number 3. I haven't used ovulation sticks before and I did last month to just track and my ovulation was 5/6 days after my apps predicted. So I'm using them this month, my question is how many times a day should I be testing? And do I use fmu or not - I've read mixed opinions! Due to ovulate Mon/Tues. using Flo, Premom and Clue. Been tracking periods since they returned at 4months pp and she's now 2.5yrs! Good luck to all xx

Mummyme87 · 24/07/2022 06:38

@Nypie yes I use premom and Ovia, if I do bbt I use fertility friend.

@Dogmum13 how late is your AF now? Do you properly track cycles? You didn’t just ovulate a bit later this month meaning AF would come later?

5dpo today, nothing to report except sore boobs. Driving on my own up to Northumberland from London today with the kids to stay with my mam. Dropping into a friends on the way. When I was ttc DS2 I made friends with an amazing group of women on here, like 16 of us, we formed a WhatsApp group and meet up intermittently. That was over 5yrs ago now!

That is amazing about the friendship group! My first is about to start school with a little girl who's mum I met on a TTC board! Worked out we lived fairly close and now we've moved even closer and they are starting school together. Teacher asked how long they've known each other πŸ˜€ from
The womb I guess!

LauraA31 · 24/07/2022 07:19

AF arrived for me this morning, regular as clockwork! She is very very light and watery which isn’t normal, usually she comes with full force!
Non the less she has arrived.

Onto cycle 3! 3rd time lucky 🀞🏻
Going to stay on this thread if that’s ok? Next cycle will possible give me an end of April baby so still in the same month!

ExPatHereForAChat · 24/07/2022 07:33

@Orangesaretheonly Hey! I usually ovulate on day 14 (but it has been as early as day 12) so I start ovulation strips once a day on day 9 and twice a day from day 11 or 12 (depending on if they're getting darker or not).
I use second morning urine as that's what they say to do but I usually have my darkest result at like 6 a.m. (I have loads of cheapie strips so sometimes check 3 or 4 times the day of ovulation, just for fun!).

EdinburghGirl1 · 24/07/2022 07:50

@Twiggywinkle13 congratulations

@LauraA31 sorry to hear AF has arrived. It's always gutting but fresh month gif you now and hopefully this is the month. Definitely stay on the thread.

@Nypie welcome. I use Ovia and used for my DD 6 years ago too and I quite like it.

@Orangesaretheonly I've heard people say not to use fmu and is better later in the day but think there's mixed review. I used CB ones this cycle and used Fmu as they suggested I started from day 8

ThePodParent · 24/07/2022 08:03

Morning all!

1dpo today so the TWW begins…

Anyone else starting theirs today?

NSx · 24/07/2022 08:20

Hi all πŸ’•
been quiet in here as I’m on holiday. β˜€οΈ
I’m 7dpo - haven’t really been tracking anything as I’m away, back Tuesday to continue my TWW, haven’t felt a single symptom (not sure if I would anyways as I’ve been enjoying my time away?)

anyone on the same day as me? X

Mummyme87 · 24/07/2022 08:24

@Orangesaretheonly Cheap opk they say between 10am-8pm, I find 10-12 the best time for me and if it looks like it’s getting darker I’ll test two or three times a day as my peak comes and goes very quickly and could easily miss it. CB opk is recommended to test with FMU but they work differently not just looking for the LH surge

Mummyme87 · 24/07/2022 08:26

Also @Orangesaretheonly thats really cool about your daughters friend. We are really spread out, Scotland, N.I, Ire and all over England. Infact one of us lived in Dubai at the time.

That's really helpful thank you. I have cheapy ones. Will start 2x a day now. Last month they went dark v quick then back again and a day later I had O pain pretty bad. 🀞🏻 same this month!

CDD1992 · 24/07/2022 09:04

@Aurora81 feeling a bit deflated today πŸ˜‘ my OPK said yesterday was peak (today says high), and DH was out at a sports thing all day yesterday, was home later than expected but he did make the effort to DTD. He couldn't make it, ah hem, happen so though so we missed our chance last night and I laid in bed feeling really sad. I just needed things to happen on 3 key dates and he couldn't and I was so frustrated. It may be wrong or unreasonable of me but I feel like now we may have missed our chance this month πŸ˜•

Hey all, hope its not too late to join! This is our first cycle first baby, cd10 with ovulation due on Thursday so think tomorrow will be our first try. Had a mmc last year so I know it may not be smooth sailing!

Is anyone using an app to track? I've been using natural cycles for my period but at Β£50 a year i'm not entirely sure its worth it for a fertility tracker :/

I am the same cd as you 😊 CD 11 today and usually ov around cd17 so still waiting.. I feel like I am forever waiting in the ttc journey!

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage πŸ’ it's heartbreaking!

I am ttc #1, cycle 3 and also had a miscarriage back in May. Trying to remain positive!

cavebaby · 24/07/2022 10:09

@CDD1992 Completely get your frustration but it may not be too late. Do you think DH is feeling the pressure of needing to perform?

LauraA31 · 24/07/2022 10:19

@EdinburghGirl1 thank you! I will certainly stick around, ive appreciated the feeling of support through the last cycle.
Im looking at this as a positive, my cycles throughout the last three months have mirrored each other so at least it’s given me all the information i need πŸ™‚

Plus, my TWW in August will fly as boyfriends birthday is that month. A BFP for his birthday would be amazing!!

Dogmum13 · 24/07/2022 10:49

@Mummyme87 I'm on cd31 now. My cycles are usually 25-29 days max but last month was 33 days for the first time ever. I get ovulation pains so don't do ovulation tests. Last month my pains were on cd16/17 so thought it would be a little late but not that late. This month ovulation pains started on cd11 and ended on cd15 so I think the latest I ovulated was probably cd16. I'm used to shorter cycles rather than longer ones so this is so frustrating. I couldn't get to sleep last night as I had these sharp stabbing pains near my right ovary. They were very intense but only last for about 5-10 seconds each and happened about 5-6 times. Once they stopped there was a heavy pressure sort of feeling in the area and its still there now. So strange. I'm guessing af will show today but the wait is so annoying

CDD1992 · 24/07/2022 10:49

@cavebaby maybe.... But he wanted to know what was happening and learn about cycles... So I told him but maybe the pressure is getting to him. I was just frustrated as if was the first peak OPK I've had since I came off my pill in May and I didn't want to miss it. Maybe we can try today and hopefully it's not too late. X

Dogmum13 · 24/07/2022 11:07

Sorry cd30 today, was a day ahead of myself πŸ˜‚

cavebaby · 24/07/2022 11:35

@CDD1992 That's tricky then, if he wants to know what's going on you can't really remove the pressure.

@Dogmum13 You're being very restrained not to rest after 14 days!

12dpo here and temp is still up but I don't feel pregnant at all. Bit of on and off cramping, emotional and spotty but all just as likely to be PMT. I imagine AF is due on Tuesday so I'll test then if it doesn't start but I'm not at all hopeful

cavebaby · 24/07/2022 11:35

@Dogmum13 test, not rest

Dogmum13 · 24/07/2022 11:55

@cavebaby I tested yesterday and the day before plus about 12dpo and all bfn so just waiting for af now

cavebaby · 24/07/2022 12:50

@Dogmum13 Ahh sorry I didn't check the previous messages x

Aurora81 · 24/07/2022 13:02

@CDD1992 Don't worry about it, remember that a positive OPK only tells you that you are going to ovulate. I usually ovulate 12-36 hours after a positive ovulation test. Did you get a temp dip this morning? I always get a little dip before I ovulate. I will screenshot my chart and post it, so you can see it. I normally don't tell my DH about my OPK's unless he asks...I think it's hard on them trying to dtd on demand. So if he wants to know I tell him and if he doesn't ask I don't bring it up...even though I do believe they can tell the difference after a while....πŸ˜‚EWCM does change things πŸ˜‰

Aurora81 · 24/07/2022 13:06

@CDD1992 this is my chart so far. I started recording my bbt on CD 7 as I was on annual leave for a week so I couldn't be bothered πŸ˜…

@Aurora81 yeah I had a little dip this morning but my OPK said high and not peak so I think I missed it. Here is my chart so far:

He did make it up to me this morning through 😍

Nypie · 24/07/2022 13:50

@Louise34mum @Mummyme87 Thanks both I've downloaded premom and fertility friend! That is so sweet that you still meet up after all that time, none of my close friends are ready for kids so hoping that will be me.

@Orangesaretheonly πŸ₯ΊπŸ₯Ί what a story! I hope you all remain friends

@EdinburghGirl1 cheers, I'll have a look at that one aswell.

@Summerbreeze111Aw so glad there's someone else! We can wait it out together. And ttc#1 too! When do you think you'll start dtd? So sorry to hear about the miscarriage aswell! Its so individual how we deal with losses but it does get better. I found it helpful to give him a name was way to early for it to be anything but helped me.
