Thank you all so much, it's so nice to be able to say things here that I definitely wouldn't say out loud!

Lots of you in the TWW it seems. Wishing you all the best 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Hello, can I join the conversation? I have been feeling so low this last week 😟 af due early next week, I think, hard to tell I think my hormones are shot. I miscarried at 9w in March, then had one cycle off before started TTC again, successfully, and MC again at 6w earlier this month. I'm pretty sure I ovulated again before the MC had even stopped when I was still spotting 😟 So basically I've had 2 back to back MC. The March one was pretty traumatic, this one I just filed away and carried on. Thought I was ok but guess I'm dealing with it now emotionally. 2 colleagues are pregnant and my friend, all announced around the time of my March MC so they're all starting to show now which isn't helping. I want to try again but just don't feel it is a good idea just now and I feel like I'm struggling to make peace with that. I'm no spring chicken either, approaching 40 in 18m which doesn't help either.

Is anyone else feeling worried about TTC again for fear of another MC? I think that's a large part of it too.

mummatara · 28/06/2022 18:27

So I had surgery for mmc on 8/6 I did a cheap strip hcg test at the weekend which was negative and the hosp told me to test at three weeks and call if it was positive. I've just done a clear blue as won't have time tomorrow and it's coming out at a big fat positive 🙄 I now feel annoyed as wanted to try again as soon as possible and feel this is a very irritating set back 😩

bunnykins123 · 28/06/2022 19:16

@Margo34 I'm so sorry you've found yourself in this group, lots of support here or just a space to vent if you need it! Understandably, I don't think the fear of miscarriage leaves until you get further on in your pregnancy.

@mummatara the cheapie strips are far less sensitive than FRER or Clear blue. It's completely normal for it to take a little while to leave your system and you will have periods / ovulate with HCG in your system (trust me - it took mine 3 months to finally clear, unusual case over here though!)

mummatara · 28/06/2022 19:20

@bunnykins123 ahhh thank you that's good to know! Did you just have to keep taking tests or did the hosp do anything?

bunnykins123 · 28/06/2022 22:50

@mummatara nobody told me to take any tests and I just cracked on with ttc. It was only until about 6 weeks after, that I tested as I thought I might be pregnant. Soon came to realise that the tests weren't getting darker or fading much so I wasn't pregnant but was residual HCG - my levels dropped quickly until about 25 and then they went down at snails pace. I had blood tests with the NHS and private. I did initially take a Co-Op test as that's all I had and it was negative, it was only testing with FRER that I had 2 lines. Most people seem to have a negative fairly soon afterwards but I had a multitude of tests, scans etc - all was normal, my body just didn't want to let go of that pregnancy. So this is to reassure you that it can be quick or can take a while, both is normal and not something to get worried about (unless you're having symptoms etc then probs best to go the to the GP to check)

Indianna2006 · 29/06/2022 06:21

So AF arrived on holiday 🙄🙄 so that early FRER test I was presume was an indent line. It pictured quite well so that’s shocking isn’t it! 😩

not gonna be testing early again. Gonna wait until my usual 12dpo so it would be a more clearer pink line and no guessing.

Onto cycle 2 then!

@mummatara sorry for your loss. I had something similiar. Mc at 9 weeks in April. Then fell straight away and had a chemical at like 4+5. Just had my first proper cycle and AF showed up so 👎

calimc83 · 29/06/2022 08:22

@Margo34 Hi 👋 there. Welcome, I'm so sorry for your losses. Also had 2 MMC in the space of a few months. On cycle 1 TTC again and anxious! I'm also approaching 40 😩 xx

calimc83 · 29/06/2022 08:23

@Indianna2006 oh no sorry to hear AF showed up on holiday. Hope u are ok? Xx

calimc83 · 29/06/2022 08:29

@mummatara welcome 🤗 I'm so sorry for your loss xx

TheBirdintheCave · 29/06/2022 08:32

@Indianna2006 That sucks :( I hope you had a good time on holiday though!

mummatara · 29/06/2022 11:57

@bunnykins123 thanks good to know. I spoke to epu anyway as they had said to call. As I'm fine in myself they said to test again in two weeks and they will scan if still positive.

@Indianna2006 and you too. Oh bugger 🤞🏼 for next time AF is not our friend hope you're ok

@calimc83 thank you sorry for yours too

calimc83 · 29/06/2022 08:22

@Margo34 Hi 👋 there. Welcome, I'm so sorry for your losses. Also had 2 MMC in the space of a few months. On cycle 1 TTC again and anxious! I'm also approaching 40 😩 xx

Sorry for your losses also 😟 good luck for this cycle and the next steps of your TTC journey🤞

I'm still testing positive 3 weeks on from my last MC. Not sure whether to worry about that and call GP or just leave it a little longer. I was negative by now from my 9w MC, and this one was only at 6w so I'm quite confused!

calimc83 · 29/06/2022 13:09

@Margo34 I tend to find a very faint positive goes after AF shows? But if in doubt call the EPU xx

mummatara · 29/06/2022 13:09

@Margo34 I'm also resting positive at 3 weeks past MC. I spoke to the EPU this morning and they said it can take 4-6 weeks to leave the system. They want me to test again in two weeks and if still positive they will scan to check no tissue is left.

mummatara · 29/06/2022 13:10

Testing not resting. Wish I was resting 😂

pangolin84 · 29/06/2022 15:43

Are people using the super sensitive pregnancy tests like FRER to confirm negative after MC?
I tested negative on Sunday (2.5 weeks after surgery) but it was just using the one the EPU gave me when they discharged me and I have no idea what the sensitivity of that test is.
I still haven’t ovulated although it’s now only 3 weeks since the procedure so it’s not that concerning yet I guess.

mummatara · 29/06/2022 15:49

@pangolin84 I used a cheap mom med strip at the weekend which was neg and a clear blue yesterday as that's what I had in the drawer. Felt like I should use a "proper" test for when the hosp told me to test 😂 then was gutted that it was positive

pangolin84 · 29/06/2022 16:42

@mummatara This whole situation sucks so much, doesn’t it?! As if it hasn’t dragged on too long already.
I’m tempted to buy a FRER to double check but also just feel like waiting it out since the one the hospital gave me was negative 🤷‍♀️

MrsGrealish · 29/06/2022 18:47

@pangolin84 I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks with a big bleed on the 27 May. After 3 epu visits hospital told me to test yesterday IC negative FRER positive. It feels like it never ending 😩

MrsGrealish · 29/06/2022 18:51

I asked if I could use a sensitive one and they said yes🤷‍♀️ feel like I just gotta wait it out now

mummatara · 29/06/2022 19:11

@pangolin84 it really does suck 🙄 I imagine it's going in the right direction as the one you had was negative and probably less sensitive than a frer. Though I'm a horribly impatient tester and as much as my mind is like I shouldn't waste it because they are expensive I'm going to anyway 😂

calimc83 · 29/06/2022 19:37

How's everyone getting on in the 2WW? It's dragging.....😫 xx

mummatara · 29/06/2022 20:10

I've caved an bought some CB ovulation sticks I've run out of strip ones and wouldn't usually fork out for CB ones but I think I deserve them 😝 had some good looking CM today which is nice because about 4 days ago there was nada but it really feels like I'm got my period every time I've been to the loo to check no period just lots of CM so hopefully body has got the memo to start getting into gear 🤞🏼

Margo34 · 29/06/2022 20:26

@pangolin84 I used just whatever cheapest test - £4ish for a box of 2 from boots own brand. Not sure the sensitivity but it wasn't a super sensitive early test. It didn't come up quickly as when discovered pregnant but was just as strong a line 😟

Might call gp tomorrow for advice 🤷
