Do you think now AF has arrived I should bother with taking a test on Wednesday? Seems like a waste of a good test 😂

MrsGrealish · 11/07/2022 22:46

@mummatara I really want to say I wouldn't waste an expensive test on Wednesday but I can understand if u need to. My FRER was positive 2 weeks ago now but I know I'm not pregnant. All ICs are negative. Can't handle a negative FRER for some reason

bunnykins123 · 11/07/2022 23:05

@mummatara maybe wait a while now. I totally understand you wanting to see a negative but if you can hold out until O day then you give it a bit more time to have a fully negative test. Other than stressing yourself out, there isn't much to gain testing now AF has arrived 💕

@Singingloudforalltohear I'm sorry you are spotting. Try to keep positive, until you actually start bleeding then you shouldn't worry too much (easier said than done I know!) spotting seems to be really common in early pregnancy.

@curliegirlie Could you have Od today? I wonder if you have already Od but because there are a few days missing, it's hard to pinpoint exactly? My temps seem to be ok with the heat too although I suspect tomorrow they will shoot up as it's way warmer tonight! 🥵

@FfayeN thank you for the info! I had a consultant meeting today and they are going to do a hyscopcy (spelling?). I'll ask if they can take a sample whilst they are up there! Oh yeh I've taken them for malaria, my hands felt like they were burnt when I was in the sun! It will absolutely be worth it though to treat the endo!

Tor88 · 11/07/2022 23:11

@Astar21 thanks, no AF but BFN still, it's driving me bonkers. If I've calculated my cycle correctly I'm either 13 or 14dpo today. I had blazing positives by this point in both my other pregnancies so I am surely out. There's a chance Ive got my ovulation dates wrong though as I wasn't using OPKs this month and my temps didn't increase, but I had an eff tonne of EWCM and ovulation cramps, so surely that was it. Who blummin knows.

Results from testing all came back today. Everything looking good with my partner. Seems ok for me but there are a few things I need follow ups for - a cyst on my ovary and a low ovarian reserve. Apparently the 'normal' range is 5-30 and the mine is 8, which sounds horribly low to me. The woman explained the worrying thing would be if it was decreasing quickly so I have to test that again in a year.

I feel like I've learned a whole new topic this year - fertility 🙈🙈 It's a whole big thing isn't it.

Wish you (and everyone on this thread) all the luck with this cycle. 🤞

curliegirlie · 11/07/2022 23:23

@bunnykins123 only two temps were missing, but it's super annoying that one is CD11! I think from my OPKs it's just about possible that I got a peak at some point between 1.46 pm on CD11 and 1.26 pm on CD12, but definitely nothing looking potentially exciting since. I've not added the OPKs I've done in the past couple of days, as they've been absolute squinters...so hopefully my temps over the next few days will clarify things.

@Tor88 have you tested with a frer? They're the only tests that showed up at 13dpo for me. Maybe you did ovulate a little later. I find ewcm confusing, as mine seems to come & go over a few days.
Try not to get too worried about the results. They're still within the normal range. Have you thought about taking any supplements to improve egg quality? And fingers crossed the cyst will just disappear on its own, I think a lot of the time they just get re-absorbed by the body🤞🏼

FfayeN · 12/07/2022 06:21

@bunnykins123 thanks for the heads up. Typically chose the two weeks with a crazy heatwave. SPF50 all the way! xx

bunnykins123 · 12/07/2022 07:52

@FfayeN haha agreed 😂 tbf it's not that bad, it's only when in the sun so just stick to the shade. Plus you know what it is - I was on holiday and thought something was seriously wrong with me!!

@curliegirlie looking at your chart and OPKs, I think you O'd on CD12 - I think the dip is a blip. Keep testing to make sure but that's my take on it. You have some pretty good lines throughout cd12 🤞

@Indianna2006 thanks for the info! Tried last night and wowzers, how the heck do you get it even in?! Is there are trick to this?! I tried and literally thought I was about to puncture something down there 😂

mummatara · 12/07/2022 08:15

@MrsGrealish @bunnykins123 thanks I think I'll leave it. I just needed someone to say don't waste it woman 😂 doing one before O is a good shout though. Had a look at previous cycles looks like I ovulate anywhere between 17 and 23 days nice big margin 🙈

Tor88 · 12/07/2022 08:59

@Astar21 yeah used frer with FMU yest and nada. I had some craaazy shooting pains all through my hip last night that I'm now hoping I'm not as I ended up taking ibuprofen and codeine, and now slightly worried about eptopic, but I think it's probably more likely a uti or something. What joy. Today is day 31 of my usually 26 day cycle, but AF came on day 30 after my last miscarriage so it's not that surprising.

Yeah I know what you mean we EWCM, I had it consistently for like 4 days followed by some cramps which is what made me think that was ovulation. But looking at my temps they didn't start to rise until 4 days after so that so I think I may have got it wrong, and if I did ovulate later then we didn't dtd in fertile window anyway.

I asked the consultant about improving egg quality and she said there's not a lot you can do but don't smoke, eat veg etc. I take iron, folic acid and vit d. Are you taking anything else?? Anything you'd recommend??

She also recommend low dose of aspirin in my next pregnancy in case I have the blood clotting thing but said that I would need to be monitored by early scans from the NHS. Seems to me unlikely that they're going to be willing to do that after 2 MCs but I guess I should ask and might be worth you doing the same xxx

curliegirlie · 12/07/2022 09:34

@bunnykins123 another high temp today, so I'm more inclined to believe that yesterday's and even Saturday's was real now, and yes, I think it points most strongly to CD12 being ovulation day. I was going to say I don't think I've ever ovulated so early before, but looking at April's OPKs I had a few that were around 0.3 on the morning of CD12 and it ended up being a 24 day cycle, so I wonder if my peak would have come in the early hours of the morning then too 🤔. Reassuring if that cycle wasn't anovulatory after all! This is all a bit new to me as I've always been on the longer side of cycle lengths - maybe it's still post-MC weirdness or maybe because I'm now a bit older...

if this month isn't successful (and I think realistically we only DTD once, maybe twice in the window) then I'll know to be OPK testing a few times a day from earlier on next time round....

mummatara · 12/07/2022 10:09

Just incase anyone needs any CB opks pack of 20 are £25.99 and frer tests pack of 2 are £5.05 on Amazon prime deal day

Indianna2006 · 12/07/2022 10:13

@bunnykins123 hahah I laughed so much at that. It can be a bit fiddly. Especially if your ttc your first. As obv I’ve pushed a baby out so getting that contraption in isn’t an issue 😂😂 it’s the same size if not smaller than a penis so just after sex it should go in quite easy. But you might clamp up if feels a bit unnatural 🙈 the things we discuss lol!!

@curliegirlie oh yay to think Ov has maybe happened. That will speed up the tww if anything! I am 4dpo today so are you similar to me again? Yes cycle tend to get a little shorter as you get older. I used to be CD16 4/5 years ago when ttc. Now I’m nearly always CD13

@mummatara ooh that is good deals. I might have to take a look. Thank you

Indianna2006 · 12/07/2022 11:22

I swear sometimes I feel like I’m fine. An then I’ll see something and it smashes me in the face.

like when a celeb has a 1 year old and having another baby. And then only had baby 6 months ago an already having another one. And you think just think. How is it so easy for some and they GET all the pregnancies they fall with?!

ugh sorry for the moan. It’s irrelevant. It’s just bloody annoying when your 15 months down the line and 2 losses and some ppl has nearly had 2 kids in that time 🙄🙄

😂😂 moan over. UGH

MrsGrealish · 12/07/2022 11:26

@curliegirlie ooh Amazon prime day I forgot!! thanks for the heads up!

MrsGrealish · 12/07/2022 11:53

@bunnykins123 @Indianna2006 my nurse has issues finding my cervix at smear time. I think it sits at a funny angle. I've looked into the device but I absolutely know I would have problems 😅

LuckyMoonstone · 12/07/2022 19:24

I haven’t been on here for a while, I’ve been feeling too depressed. I’m still here in the background though. I might perk up and join in again once ovulation arrives. CD10 now so could still be a week or more away. I don’t even want to try, it’s too depressing, there’s no fun in it anymore. It just feel too desperate and full of disappointment.
Hope everyone is doing ok.

Chellooo · 12/07/2022 20:11

So ladies, gonna attempt to fully focus on ttc this month. The AF from hell is just leaving so I'm gonna track with opks in a few days but am contemplating the temping thing.... can someone explain as simply (I swear I'm normally not thick) what I've to do or how to do this, Do I need a special contraption?

Mabelledox · 12/07/2022 20:24

@Chellooo It's super simple! You just need a basal thermometer which you can buy for around £8 on Amazon. You need to take your temperature at the same time every morning before getting out of bed. There's roughly 30 mins either side of your time that you can still get an accurate reading but I'v found a website that converts your time which allows you to not worry as much and have a lie in! This has taken a lot of stress out of it for me. There's some really good apps like my fertility friend and also Kindara and you can build your chart on there. Iv found it so interesting to do and finally learning so much more about my cycles! I think that's all the basics, you can learn when you ovulate either from a dip in temperature or a temp with three consecutive rises after it. If you have any other questions then I can try to answer them, good luck! This is my first month ttc after my miscarriages too ☺️

calimc83 · 12/07/2022 20:36

@LuckyMoonstone Hope u are ok lovely, thinking of you xx

LuckyMoonstone · 12/07/2022 21:27

@calimc83 thank you. I’ll be ok. Just really miserable at the moment.

Aw thank you so much! Think I was overthinking it lol

Astar21 · 12/07/2022 23:52

@Tor88 I hope the pains have eased up for you? Your hormones/cycles are maybe just levelling out again after the last MC. Either way hopefully you're not left in limbo land for too long now!
I'm going to start OPKs again next week with my CB digital. Even though ewcm is a good sign, I like to see the flashing/static smileys appearing so I can see where I'm up to 😂
I'm taking vit d, vitamin b complex & have just started omega 3 with vitamin e as I've ready they're good. Who knows if any of it helps!
That's interesting about the scans. It's worth a try. Last time I was in EPU in May they confirmed nothing further can be done unless there's been 3 MCs. So I highly doubt they'd be willing to see me for any reassurance next time.

Tor88 · 13/07/2022 07:49

@Astar21 yeah I agree I was surprised she suggested that, but she seemed sure that after 2 I could get early scans to monitor aspirin use. Won't know unless we ask I suppose!

So yesterday turned quite dramatic for me. The pain got so bad I went to a walk in and waited 3 hours assuming I had a bladder infection. They tested my urine and couldn't find anything, but they also tested for pregnancy ( I was panicking about eptopic as pain was all on one side) and it was a no. Pain seems much better this morning but something weird is going on. I had very definite implantation cramps and a faint positive a week ago, and this is now the longest cycle of my life without my period coming.

My guess is it was failed implantation and it's truly messed up my body which was already messed up post miscarriage? Who knows. I really just want to move on but I had so many weird aches and pains after the first miscarriage too, I feel like I must have something that hasn't yet been diagnosed?!! Endometriosis or something.

Re supplements - I want to get a non cod liver oil omega 3 as I know you're not supposed to take cod liver oil, but yeah all sounds sensible to take lots of supps. I want to try and be really healthy now to see if there's anything I can do to improve egg quality. I've also got BMI of 26 atm (which is just one point into the overweight category) having piled on the pounds across two pregnancies and miscarriage, so I'd like shift some lbs before the next pregnancy too. Torn between the desire to break from ttc to have a mental and physical health break, and the desire to get the eff on with it asap!!

theblueflowers · 13/07/2022 08:01

@LuckyMoonstone sorry to hear that you are struggling. It's not how it should be at all is it.
Hope you are okay xx
