@Indianna2006 you could be giving yourself the best chance if you do ovulate then, so definitely not issued the window!

@calimc83 Yip tested this morning on fmu and it was a bfn... ach well 1st cycle after mc gonna take it as my body is still recovering... just waiting on AF now to make it official

mummatara · 07/07/2022 17:34

Just got blood results back hcg is at 38 so not too high but higher than I was hoping for 😂

MrsGrealish · 07/07/2022 18:22

@mummatara god after 5 weeks? Are you just going to ride it out? I've not done one yet will wait til Saturday when I'm off work for a week.

mummatara · 07/07/2022 18:30

@MrsGrealish EPU said they will scan me if I still have a positive on Wednesday though I'm sure with that small amount of hcg I don't have anything retained so it's probably just a waiting game. I'm drinking plenty of green tea and water and have done exercise. I've been feeling phantom kicks all day today too which has not been fun though I think somethings kicking along down there actually have some cm and it almost feel like one side of my womb/ovary is tight

Pfft, that chart is annoying. Last month we managed O, -1 and -2, so should have been in with a decent shot, but no....

pangolin84 · 07/07/2022 18:57

Blimey, I’ve not logged on for a few days and so much has happened! Welcome to our new joiners. Such a crap club to be part of and I’m so sorry you find yourselves part of it. It’s just awful, but this is a safe space for unloading anything and everything 💔

@calimc83 This is such amazing news! Have everything crossed for you - keep us updated with how you’re getting on x

@mummatara That persisting HCG is so annoying! Your other signs sound promising though. CM means your oestrogen is high, so that’s got to be good 🤞

bunnykins123 · 07/07/2022 19:29

@curliegirlie haha agree - we've also nailed those dates in the past to no avail 🤦‍♀️ your OPKs are defo getting there 🤞

@mummatara I really don't think it's retained products, I think it's just stubborn HCG. Keep with the green tea and see how you get on next week - I really hope they drop quickly now!

@theblueflowers I love that chart - thanks for sharing! It does make me wonder though, if peak is 1 day before 0, does that mean we'd miss many of our fertile days if we are just waiting for peak? My head hurts 🤯

theblueflowers · 07/07/2022 20:32

@curliegirlie I feel ya. We did SMEP last cycle and nothing!! It feels cruel that even when you get the timing exactly right, it's not a guarantee that you'll conceive. Makes me wonder how anyone can get pregnant.

MrsGrealish · 07/07/2022 21:58

@mummatara I think with retained products there's bleeding so hopefully it's just a matter of time. I did a one step just there totally blank 🤞I'll be avoiding FRERs because they are just too sensitive and too bloody expensive

pangolin84 · 07/07/2022 22:13

Does anyone have any experience of a very short luteal phase after miscarriage? It’s 4 weeks since my surgery and I’ve been temping to see what’s going on. Counting surgery as day 1 I apparently ovulated on day 22 and have had a temp dip today at 7 dpo so I assume AF will start imminently - I did also have some spotting this afternoon. Now concerned that 7 days is a ridiculously short LP!
I think possibly I had similar after my first MC as I noticed lots of CM after that then had a period about a week later so hopefully this is “normal” for the recovery phase for me.
Going to keep tracking anyway but wondered if I’m unusual in this.

FfayeN · 07/07/2022 22:19

@pangolin84 yes I had this with my 2nd MC. I had a number of 17 day cycles. Turns out my MC had disrupted by immune system and kickstarted hypothyroidism. If you haven't I'd suggest getting your GP to run some routine bloods just incase, but hopefully it's just your body settling down again xxx

Cegbee · 07/07/2022 22:36

Just coming back to this thread. Congrats @calimc83!

I'm also CD12 today and just had an unexpected positive LH test, a day earlier than last cycle. Good thing I convinced DH to do the BD at lunchtime because I'm working this evening!

I've been pretty chilled so far this cycle but starting feel anxious again already.

FfayeN · 07/07/2022 22:36

@MrsGrealish such good news that some tests are now showing negative. At least when you feel ready to TTC again your body is ready too 😘. Xx

FfayeN · 07/07/2022 22:41

For the rest of you wondering about OPKs I too have done the lead up 'timetable' and not had a BFP month after month. When I fell pregnant in Jan we literally DTD twice, 24hrs and then 36hrs after my peak (I was out of the country so jumped on him as soon as I was back) and somehow fell pregnant, so don't discount your peak day and the day after 😊🤞🏼 xx

pangolin84 · 07/07/2022 22:43

@FfayeN Thank you for replying 😊
I’ve not had any blood tests but I’ve been thinking about getting my thyroid checked anyway so maybe this is the kick start I need to get it looked at.
I just wish it wasn’t impossible to get an appointment!

FfayeN · 07/07/2022 22:45

@pangolin84 fingers crossed you can get something soon 🤞🏼. I did my first through Thriva as I thought something wasn't right and this was through Covid, so that's another option if you can't get an appt anytime soon xx

bunnykins123 · 08/07/2022 08:25

@pangolin84 I would defo look into some tests to see if it's hormonal. Progesterone is the one that springs to mind, as low prog usually will give you a short LP or spot days before AF. It's absolutely nothing that can't be fixed though!

@FfayeN that's good to know! I guess that's why specialists say drop the opks as it can be so confusing.

@Cegbee I get mega dtd anxiety during my 'fertile period'. That's a pretty good line there, could you do tomorrow morning too? Then you'll probably be covered! 🤞

calimc83 · 08/07/2022 08:42

@pangolin84 @Cegbee thank you ladies ☺️ hope u are both ok..xx

theblueflowers · 08/07/2022 09:03

@pangolin84 I had this for the first two cycles after my MC- I started spotting at 8dpo which was not normal for me. It seems to have corrected itself in my third cycle as I had a 14 day luteal phase, so maybe it's just your body sorting itself out?

curliegirlie · 08/07/2022 11:20

Ahhh, totally confused now! Hopefully I didn't peak silly early before I was testing more regularly from CD12?!! Just crossing fingers I still get a peak in a day or two as we only DTD early on CD12 and not in the few days in the run up to it as DH had a stomach bug earlier in the week 😩

TTC after Miscarriage Thread 8
Tor88 · 08/07/2022 11:52

Hi everyone, is it ok if I join this thread?? I recognise lots of names from the miscarriage support forum so hi all 👋

I'm 33 (but 34 in a few weeks) and trying for my first. I've two miscarriages, one at 9 weeks (despite healthy scan at 8) which landed me in hospital in agony, and a second far physically easier one at 6 weeks that only happened in May. I caught second cycle of TTC with both pregnancies so I'm very lucky in that so far that part of it doesn't seem to be an issue.

I'm not worried about my age at all for this pregnancy, but I've always wanted at least two so I do worry about my age for the second and third, especially if this keeps happening to me..I started ttc October last year.

I'm having a weird month this month. We decided to take the month off ttc to give me a mental break after the second miscarriage, we only dtd once and I wasn't sure when I was going to ovulate. Looking back I think (but can't say for sure as wasn't tracking, but based on CM) I ovulated 4/5 days after dtd. Didn't think much of it as we've only caught on cycles we've really gone for it. But then at roughly 6dpo I got a strong burning sensation behind my pubic bone which is what I've had at implantation with my other two pgs. It carried on for two days, I've had mild nausea, sore throat and once a really bitter taste in my mouth (if that one was a symptom it was a new one for me!!)

So I started convincing myself I had gotten extremely lucky and caught again without even trying straight after my second miscarriage. I tested at 7dpo and had the world's faintest positive (honestly barely visible). I've tested every day since and had stark negatives, so if I've got my dates right that's 8,9,10.and 11dpo. I am thinking it was a very early chemical that didn't take, or is it possible that faint positive was even leftover HCG from the previous pregnancy??

I need to just let it go and expect AF but the symptoms match my other two pgs so much, but with the other two I was very clearly testing positive by this point. And even if I'm wrong with my dated, it's been 5 days since the burning crotch feeling started and with both other pgs I was testing positive that long after I go those symptoms.

Just sharing in case anyone else has had this where they got a faint bfp that then became a bfn for days after, and turned out to be a bfp?!

Sending all the love out to everyone on this chat. It's been one hell of a year and this process is enough to send anyone round the twist, it's sooo tough xxxx

Tor88 · 08/07/2022 11:54

Ps sorry most epically long post ever 🙈🙈 can you tell I'm obsessing?! Big thank you to anyone who reads it lol

mummatara · 08/07/2022 11:59

@curliegirlie don't worry you could still fall! We only DTD once in March as DH had a hernia op. I wasn't tracking with opks just bbt temps as we were trying but not trying if that makes sense. I ovulated 4 days after DTD and got a positive much to my shock and amazement

mummatara · 08/07/2022 12:07

Hi @Tor88 👋🏼 welcome and sorry for your losses

I'm sorry not sure I have much helpful advice. Could be some lingering hcg mine seems to have stuck about but odd that the tests are then neg. Could still be early if you're not sure on dates though might be worth waiting a few days and testing again?
