Hi everyone,

I thought I would make a thread for those who are trying to conceive their first child.

I love reading about everyone's journey, but sometimes I just need a space where I can talk to others who are dreaming of their first bundle of joy 💫

I am 31 and on cycle #8. My periods were classed as irregular but since having the coil removed, they seem to have settled and I now have 30-33 day cycles. I threw my OPKs in the bin this month, they were stressing me out and after DTD on my peaks but getting AF's just upset me even more. I am hoping to take a more relaxed approach from now on.

Sending love and hope to everyone on their unique journeys 💖

Exciting 😍😍 @Drf
i might see something on the second photo, but it’s very faint! Hoping to se a stronger line in a few days 🙏🤞

Drf · 08/06/2022 07:06

The pictures are rubbish, I need to put my phone brightess on max to see anything in them. Hopefully it's not a dodgy test and the line gets stronger!
The line is blazing on the test stick now but it's been more than 5 minutes so doesn't count!
Fingers crossed its something 🤞
(Excuse my Christmas Grinch pyjamas in June 😅)

Hi everyone, I've been a lurker on Mumsnet for a little while, but have finally decided to post. I'm 32 and me and my husband (36) are ttc #1. AF arrived this morning, which puts us onto cycle 8 in total. We actually conceived on cycle 2, but it ended in miscarriage at about 7 weeks. Since then, nothing.

I've been trying so hard to stay positive and keep trying, but I'm finding it really hard at the moment. Someone at work has recently had a baby, another has announced their pregnancy - due a month after I would have been - and one of my husband's friends and his fiance are having a baby just after we would have been. It's so hard to be happy for them without that little voice being a complete cow in my head!

Really struggling with the keeping it all in, but don't want to talk to anyone who actually knows me. They don't get it. I figured it was time to let it all out on here - hopefully letting it out somewhere will be the end of false positivity and the beginning of some real stuff instead!

newbiegreenfingers · 08/06/2022 21:26

Aw @simplythequest I'm so sorry to hear about your MC. It sounds so hard knowing people due around the same time as you would have been.

I don't really have anyone to talk to irl either. We are totally here to support you. You can let it all out here :)

I'm on cycle 9, and it just feels never ending doesn't it?

SFrancis1 · 08/06/2022 21:34

@simplythequest Welcome to the thread 💖 Thank you for sharing your journey so far. Sorry to hear about your mc and that you are finding it hard at the moment.

I am 31, on cycle #9 and really struggled when my last AF arrived. All of my friends and siblings have children, like you I don't want to talk to them because they all conceived relatively quickkly and don't necessarily understand the long rollercoaster of ttc. We seem to have a good group of ladies on this thread 😊 all at different stages of our journey but all supporting one another.

Do you have any techniques to cope with the stress and pressure of ttc? Where about are you from?

@newbiegreenfingers @SFrancis1 thank you both. It is so nice to have supportive but understanding people to talk to.

@SFrancis1 I enjoy a good walk, but life (actually, just work) gets in the way most of the time. Even on the weekends, I don't seem to be able to enjoy walking the dog without worrying about everything I need to get done. I really hoped the last cycle would be the one, as the second half of the fertile week, we were relaxing on holiday. I wrote that off when we returned and contracted covid! Recovering at home this week just means I don't have any distractions from another failed attempt. Which makes me feel worse - I hate being self-pitying!!
