@Koalie i agree with @Tinkerbell098 try the FRER my cheapies were so hit and miss.

@Tinkerbell098 good sign that it’s still coming up positive and that you haven’t had any negative signs for sure. Not long till your bloods now. Did you enjoy your time away?

Tinkerbell098 · 11/10/2022 15:08

@Carla2601 yes I tested yesterday but I’ve now run out of tests so easing off the testing until the bloods (so she says, let’s see what happens tomorrow!). Yes I went to Paris to join a friend, a girls trip and just on the way back on the Eurostar. Definitely needed a break from all the ivf stress!

Koalie · 11/10/2022 16:33

@Tinkerbell098 that’s a great sign that you’re still getting positives! I bet Thursday can’t come quick enough ☺️

I think I’ll try an FRER with FMU tomorrow. I’ve just felt sick with worry all day 🥺 I think this has made me and hubby realise we definitely just want to go for ICSI now ASAP so that we have some control over the quality of the embryos … I can’t bear anymore miscarriages, I just want to be pregnant with a healthy baby and have all the excitement of a growing bump and feeling baby move. I’ve got pregnant friends coming out my bloody ear ‘oles now and it’s so unfair 😭

lemons44 · 11/10/2022 20:24

@Koalie I'm so sorry you're having all these scary thoughts and feelings ☹️ I can't imagine how tough it must be to be worrying about another ectopic. Sending you a big hug. Keep us updated what the test looks like tomorrow ❤️

I've been thinking of you @Tinkerbell098 I will be keeping everything crossed for your blood test x

@NatW2021 I have finally started MAFS 🤪 love it so far.

Tinkerbell098 · 12/10/2022 10:38

@Koalie any update with the FRER?

@lemons44 thank you! Have you heard back from the clinic?

Koalie · 12/10/2022 10:52

Hi ladies
Feeling much better today … no line on the cheapy today and maybe an extreeeemely faint one on FRER so I’m wondering if maybe there is something there but my body is resolving it by itself .. 🤞🏼I can definitely still feel something in my left side like I could with the ectopic so I’m looking forward to my HyCosy to see if anything shows up on there. Petrified now of another ectopic though and I know it’s still a possibility even with IVF.

@Tinkerbell098 one more sleep till your bloods! 🤞🏼

@lemons44 any news on your new appointment?
xx

Tinkerbell098 · 12/10/2022 11:11

@Koalie fingers crossed it is not an ectopic, but I totally understand the scare! when is the hycosy booked for? Would it be next cycle now? I've saved my FMU this morning to do a CB digital later (due an amazon delivery today). I did a cheapie this morning and the line looks much stronger than last week, so think it is progressing now. Last week was just so so faint and looked like nothing was happening. So I'm feeling a little bit more positive now :)

FlyOnTheWall89 · 12/10/2022 12:38

@Tinkerbell098 such great news - hoping you get to see something in digital form later!

@Koalie good luck with the hycosy. Sadly embryo grading doesn't correlate with miscarriage. You can have an embryo of high grading that doesn't stick and a lower one that does. There is no difference statistically between natural pregnancy and IVF pregnancy for miscarriage. I think the better way to think about it is that you are very unlikely statistically to have more than 3 miscarriages. Hope you get your BFP in the near future!

Koalie · 12/10/2022 13:18

@Tinkerbell098 this is amazing news about your stronger lines! Let us know how the CB digi goes 🤞🏼

@FlyOnTheWall89 hmmmm that’s interesting. The lady at the clinic said that if my miscarriages are due to male factor issues then ICSI would be the treatment, as they select the healthiest sperm (less likely to have DNA frag)🤔

Carla2601 · 12/10/2022 22:52

@Koalie i think that might be because they wouldn’t maybe make it to say 5 or be graded highly enough for transfer but as @FlyOnTheWall89 says my understanding is the grading is about freeze and thaw viability as opposed to quality but that’s only what they said at my clinic so might not be right - it’s all very confusing isn’t it and lots of mixed messages!

Carla2601 · 12/10/2022 22:52

@Tinkerbell098 eeeeeeeee this is so exciting I’m so hopeful for you tomorrow let us know how you go!

Tinkerbell098 · 13/10/2022 09:02

@Koalie @FlyOnTheWall89 @Carla2601 thanks!! Amazon unfortunately screwed up and didn't deliver the tests yesterday. I've been for my blood test this morning, so I think I will hear back later today. I will keep you updated. Fingers crossed it's good news!

Koalie · 13/10/2022 09:07

@Carla2601 @FlyOnTheWall89 .. yes, that makes sense re the embryos not making it to day 5 … perhaps if we could see the embryos that have implanted in my so far they wouldn’t have made it either 😆 I think if they’re picking the healthiest sperm to use then surely I’d have a better chance of healthy embryos than I would naturally 🤷🏻‍♀️ … I think I’ll give anything a go at this stage. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I love that we all have such a plethora of info between us all ☺️

@Tinkerbell098 good luck today!! Xxx

FlyOnTheWall89 · 13/10/2022 09:10

@Koalie I had numerous conversations with consultants including the nurse consultation just before we begun. When they talk you through the protocol, they also talked us through all the risks and less nice stuff. I noted everything down so checked back at my notes and I specially asked about DNA frag too because my OH had 0% morphology at the start of this process and I presumed the two were probably linked or at least that was a concern. The miscarriage rate is the same and the treatment for high DNA frag from the perspective of the NHS is ICSI and we only had male factor issues so I presume our case is fairly similar in that respect although you have achieved pregnancy prior to IVF with ICSI and we hadn't.

So much of conceiving and keeping a pregnancy is down to luck. There are so many terrible stories and people who are frankly just bloody unlucky in their experience because their numbers / health etc are much better than another couples for example but don't seem to get pregnant. It's a really tough one as it's not black and white and there are no guarantees. As you've been pregnant a few times, maybe it will happen again naturally for you and hopefully it will be THE ONE that is meant to be.

FlyOnTheWall89 · 13/10/2022 09:17

@Tinkerbell098 fingers crossed for you! The anticipation must be so hard.

@Koalie I was writing at the same time as you.... here's hoping with those healthy selected sperm!

Koalie · 13/10/2022 09:24

@FlyOnTheWall89 Aaahh .. thank you! Good to hear we got the same info from the NHS on DNA frag! I am also worried about my left tube being damaged from the previous ectopic and although there is still a chance of ectopic with IVF, I feel like I would feel better knowing the egg didn’t actually have to travel down the tube. Apparently if the embryo is injected too high up in the womb during transfer then that can sometimes cause for it to float about too much and make it’s way up the tube so as long as I make sure whoever is doing my transfer knows what they’re bloody doing maybe I’ll be OK 😆 clutching at straws here but I’m just desperate for some fresh hope … it’s the only thing that’s kept me going all this time … doing something different every cycle in the hope it’ll have a better outcome 🤞🏼
x

Tinkerbell098 · 13/10/2022 09:29

@Koalie yes the risk of ectopic through IVF freaked me out too. But I think a skilled doctor would know where exactly to place it (mine was placed right in the middle) and I've also heard the risk is lower if it's a Day 5 transfer (potentially!). Having said that, I have to admit it has crossed my mind a few times "what if I'm getting faint lines because it's an ectopic?" I think the answer is, the risk is always there and sometimes it's just down to pure luck. All we can do is hope!

Koalie · 13/10/2022 09:32

Also … period came yesterday 🙌🏽 So HyCosy booked for 19th! (My wedding anniversary - yay) 🤦🏻‍♀️

Koalie · 13/10/2022 09:34

@Tinkerbell098 … this is all true! The risk is higher for those who have had a previous ectopic though 😒 I am sure you’ll be just fine! ♥️ X

NatW2021 · 13/10/2022 10:02

@Tinkerbell098 - been thinking of you hope you get some answers soon but all sounds really positive.

@Koalie Sorry AF arrived. I am due on today but nothing as of yet, i am not excited as my temp has dropped the last 2 days so i know its coming just annoying as i wanted to get it out the way and to start Letrozole asap. I havent been in tears this month i think i am just getting used to it now.

Tinkerbell098 · 13/10/2022 12:52

Ladies, blood test has confirmed hCG! level was 119 which google says is low for almost 5 weeks, but clinic didn't mention anything and said was comparable with what they expect. Scan is booked for 1st November!

BakinABaby · 13/10/2022 14:06

@Tinkerbell098 That is superb news! Good luck! Won't they do a second test in 48hr? I thought that was the norm in IVF. But in any case you could do one privately or smth, might put your mind to ease about the ectopic.

Tinkerbell098 · 13/10/2022 14:16

@BakinABaby thank you! no, they won't do a second test unfortunately. I was thinking of getting a private early scan before theirs, as I know some places do at 6 weeks. Don't think OH would approve though, he already thinks I'm going crazy with testing 😂

FlyOnTheWall89 · 13/10/2022 14:16

@Tinkerbell098 wooo amazing news. Thrilled for you.

Tinkerbell098 · 13/10/2022 14:36

@FlyOnTheWall89 thank you! also being very cautious, still think those levels are on the lower end, but tests have started to get a little bit darker since Monday, so hoping it will pick up.
