@NatW2021 I was exactly the same - I had no hope whatsoever and look where I am now 😊 I know not everyone is as lucky, but I do think it's such a cheap and easy option that I don't see why you wouldn't try it, unless time isn't on your side. I fell pregnant month 17 which must have been about cycle 20/21 so I know how awful the waiting is!

@KatieLooLa great things are moving for you X

@NatW2021 as Indiana said, the boost can be up to 3 cycles, so you never know!

@lemons44 have you heard anything back yet regarding the paperwork?

Little update from me - I've been for a scan this morning and have been asked to trigger tonight for egg collection on Friday morning! First scan I've had since starting stims and I'm ready! Wasn't planning for collection until Monday, so was a little overwhelmed by that. Hoping they'll collect a good number to give me a good chance !

FlyOnTheWall89 · 21/09/2022 11:20

So much luck @Tinkerbell098 - how have you found the stims? Xx

KatieLooLa · 21/09/2022 11:44

@Tinkerbell098 Finally! Going to use this month to try and get myself into a healthier routine, will have tests done next month as want to take the time to get the rubbish out of my system x

Tinkerbell098 · 21/09/2022 14:14

@FlyOnTheWall89 thanks so much! I can't complain really! Haven't had much side effects. I've been for very long walks (6 - 8 miles) and have been ok, which I didn't think would be possible. So, overall, it's gone well so far X

Koalie · 22/09/2022 11:53

Morning all :)

@Tinkerbell098 thats so excited! I bet you’re pleased it’s all moving quickly for you. ☺️

@lemons44 how’s things going with getting your records from NHS?

Thank you all for your good luck this cycle. It feels like the slowest 14 days of my life … currently CD6 🙄🐢

BakinABaby · 22/09/2022 13:25

Hello lovely ladies, I hope there is room for me to join here :).
I am not quite at 1 year yet, my cycles are on the shorter side, but just got my period on my 12th cycle ttc for our second and feeling quite defeated at the moment. All the more, because it took us 12 cycles to conceive our dd who will turn 2 in a week. So now we have officially tried longer than for our first and I had really really hoped maybe it would happen sooner this time around.
This cycle I have a gyno appointment on the 3rd which if my prediction is accurate is the day before I am to ovulate. I think that is a good time, hopefully she'll do an ultrasound and see if I am indeed about to ovulate. Also hoping either for some preliminary tests and/or a referral for both me and husband. I can't imagine everything is a ok if it is taking us so long both times, surely it can't be just chance, but also hope it is something minor and discoverable and easily fixable :)
Best of luck to everyone I'll try to get myself acquainted with you all.

Carla2601 · 22/09/2022 21:02

@Tinkerbell098 eeeeek that’s exciting!!! I’m sure they will and good luck, it’s really daunting I remember being terrified but it was so much better than I was expecting so hopefully will be super smooth for you too. I’ll be thinking about you and keeping everything crossed!

@BakinABaby welcome to the thread and sorry you’re here! Good luck with your appointment

NatW2021 · 23/09/2022 12:12

@Tinkerbell098 - thinking of you today 💗 let us know how it goes.

@Koalie we are cycle buddies - i am cd 7.

I was having a bit of a wobble before i was speaking to my mum and she said my brother and his girlfriend have their 20 week scan the same day i have my appointment to discuss trying ovulation medication at the same hospital, now im worrying ill bump into them but also how sad of a situation this is, whilst im sat talking about my infertility in the same building people are seeing their babies on scans/giving birth just seems a hard pill to swallow.

I have decided to keep things more private moving forward with my family and friends who do know we are TTC and not sharing any updates etc, i am struggling with this weight loss and although im trying and stay positive i am just trying to manage my expectations. We are fortunate we have savings if we want to go private but i am just unsure what i want to do if we dont conceive naturally and if i can deal with ivf but one step at a time.

Thanks for reading i know its a bit deep today xx

Tinkerbell098 · 23/09/2022 17:26

Hi girls still feeling a bit groggy from the anaesthetic. Day didn’t start off great. OH bless him must have been so under pressure he couldn’t produce a sample. He tried second time and got a teeny bit. So got late to go to the clinic because of that. Sedation was fine, had the best sleep! They collected 5 eggs. I was surprised as the first scan showed 18 and second 14 follicles. So think they could have collected more if they got the dose/timing right. But glad we have something! Would have liked more as I don’t know how many are mature or will fertilise out of those. I won’t know until tomorrow morning so 🤞. Hope everyone’s having a good Friday and start to the weekend X

Carla2601 · 23/09/2022 21:48

@Tinkerbell098 i can imagine it’s so stressful for the guys. We didn’t have to do that bit because of the op.

well done getting through it and 5 is still 5 chances - here’s hoping there’s 5 lil blasts in the morning, will they call you? It’s a real anxious wait so I hope you’re eating all the good food (I don’t mean healthy haha) and can get a good rest and tysm for updating us I’d been thinking about you this morning.

completely get your frustration with the numbers but try not to worry too much as they could be 5 crackers, everything crossed for those lil ones overnight, sending blast dust and good thoughts x

lemons44 · 24/09/2022 08:44

Morning girls,

@KatieLooLa sorry they wouldn't give you any treatment yet. Hopefully the healthy routine is going well. I find it harder to eat healthy when it's colder! Sending motivation your way 💕

@NatW2021 sorry AF arrived. When is your consultation around the medication? Remember with the weight loss just to take one small step at a time. That must be really tough about your brother ☹️ the universe is giving you a crappy time but it won't stay crappy forever. Sending u a big hug.

@Tinkerbell098 so glad u are ok and that part is done and dusted! I really feel for your OH... I can't even imagine the pressure he must have felt. I agree with @Carla2601 I hope you and your OH have treated yourselves for getting through a tough day. Keep us posted. I am keeping everything crossed for good eggs 🥚

So not much to update here. I basically completely shut my brain off to it all this last week. It's the only way I've been able to bear the wait, by not thinking about any of it. I just threw myself into work and in my spare time, Gilmore Girls 🤣 however yesterday we got DH's medical records sent through! Woop woop! So on Monday I will ring the clinic and DEMAND an appointment asap. Honestly god help them if they suggest another long wait. I'm not a big complainer normally but i will go absolutely full on crazy mode if they don't offer us something very, very soon. 🤪

KatieLooLa · 24/09/2022 08:54

@lemons44 trying to be healthy isn't going well! I dislocated my knee trying to do some light exercises! Turned a little too sharply, lost my footing and my kneecap decided to migrate about 3 inches to the left! All sorted now, got to wear a knee brace for about 3 weeks😅

Tinkerbell098 · 24/09/2022 10:39

@Carla2601 thanks lovely ❤️ Just had the call and we’ve got 5 little embryos! They will start grading them tomorrow and confirm when transfer day is.

@KatieLooLa oh no! Hope you are better now. Take it easy X

KatieLooLa · 24/09/2022 11:02

@Tinkerbell098 I think my pride is what hurt most 😂
Try and do some exercise and end up hurting myself, just my luck!
Pretty much hyperventilated on the gas and air once paramedic came (after nearly an hour due to not enough ambulances).
All good though, nothing broken, leg just a bit stiff and swollen, very little pain now x

NatW2021 · 24/09/2022 11:06

@Tinkerbell098 - Amazing news! Will be thinking of you 🙏💗 xx

Carla2601 · 24/09/2022 11:39

@Tinkerbell098 Yes!!!!!! Hopefully transfer Wednesday? You’re on the same days as me I just realised I got the call on a Saturday and it’s amazing when they all make it through the night isn’t it! The fact you’ve had zero drop off so far is a really good sign.

@lemons44 absolutely they need to do it within a week IMO this is their FU. Good luck and keep us posted and so happy you’re at the final stage for this op now.

@Koalie omg get well soon!

Tinkerbell098 · 24/09/2022 11:54

@NatW2021 thank you! Was so anxious waiting for that call. Sorry about your brothers appointment falling on the same day as yours, this journey is so cruel sometimes. Hope you are ok X

@Carla2601 thanks so much! I was told usually for new cycles, they do day 3 transfers unless you have a lot of embryos and it’s hard to make a call. So I am still waiting for the embryologists to grade the embryos and make a judgement call tomorrow. I really hope they all survive! It’s so anxiety inducing! How are you doing? Hope everything’s going well. When is the next scan?

Carla2601 · 24/09/2022 15:27

@Tinkerbell098 thats so interesting isn’t it, it’s so so different to my cycle where they don’t do day 3 unless you only have one or two - I know there are massively varying schools of thought on it so I’m guessing you’ll be Monday. Also with mine they only checked them day one, day three to see if you need to come in and then day 5 so I didn’t get any gradings till day 5 so you’re well ahead of me!!! Also if useful they said to me the grading is about how likely it is to freeze and thaw again so don’t worry about it they said it’s not really like an embryo quality score.

im trying to think back I think we had the same number on day 3 and then lost a couple between day 3 and day 5 so you could well still have them all. Keep us updated we’ll be waiting to hear!

all good thanks, just moving into third trimester and sleeping horribly but otherwise can’t complain!

Tinkerbell098 · 24/09/2022 16:37

@Carla2601 that is very interesting. I did hear the biggest drop off will be between days 3 to 5 (sometimes about 50%!). I’m hoping they’ll transfer at day 5 as from what I’ve read, there is more chance for a day 5 blast to implant than a day 3, but I guess no one can really tell and could go either way. Glad to hear everything’s well and it’s third trimester already! Where has the time gone? So exciting! Have you been told if you’d be induced? Read somewhere that they don’t let ivf pregnancies go to full term and would induce at week 39. Not sure if it’s true? I mean I read a lot of things on google, so it could be complete BS!

Carla2601 · 24/09/2022 17:22

@Tinkerbell098 from memory we went from 12 to 9 so only 25% so might not be as bad as you’re expecting and as you got 100% fertilisation rate I think that’s a good sign 🙏🙏🙏.

so it varies by hospital but 100% of women I’ve spoken to say don’t be induced so maybe I’d choose a section but to be honest I’m terrified of one so I’m not sure. My mum went 4 weeks early with me and 5 weeks with my brother so they said they’re expecting me to go early (but hopefully not that early!!!) so to be honest I’m holding onto that for now!

it has gone fast and we’re meant to be moving house in November (it’s been a nightmare thus far so I’m not confident) but that would speed things up.

Tinkerbell098 · 24/09/2022 17:36

@Carla2601 fingers crossed I won’t lose too many! Hope you won’t need to go too early, everything crossed for you! Are you moving far from where you’re now? Hope everything goes ok with the move. Still got a bit more time and it’ll be nice to settle into a new place before your little one arrives ❤️

Carla2601 · 24/09/2022 18:48

@Tinkerbell098 everything crossed for you! Let us know what they say.

just to the other side of London so about 10 miles but a long way in London terms haha - it means a different hospital too so will see what they say re when they’ll get the baby out if needed and yep we’ve bought nothing so we’ll ideally need a couple of weeks to do a nursery (I know it won’t be in one but I feel like I’ve waited ages and I want one haha)

Tinkerbell098 · 25/09/2022 10:13

@Carla2601 aww doing up a nursery is always nice. 10 miles isn’t too bad but I know what you mean about London, it could feel miles away. Had the call this morning from the clinic, looks like transfer day is Wednesday. Was told all 5 are still going, however 3 are doing better than the other two so hopefully those three would survive until Wednesday. No updates after today and no news is good news 🤞

lemons44 · 25/09/2022 10:56

That's so amazing @Carla2601 that you'll be 3rd trimester and thinking about a nursery. I can't believe how quick it's gone!

I haven't read/heard anything about IVF babies and being induced. I thought that IVF babies were prone to arriving a bit early, as opposed to late?

Ahh @Tinkerbell098 this is so exciting about Wednesday. I will honestly be keeping everything crossed that those 3 are still going strong on Wednesday 🤞🏼
