@Koalie its hard to know what you believe whilst TTC isn’t it! Hooray for CD1 (for once!), I know you’ve had to wait for so long for this and I’ll have everything crossed for you.

Oh it’s a right faff because you’re sure it’s fine but then when they tell you you have to come in you panic. I was also in an airport hotel two hours from the hospital so managed to not get to the hospital till 2am, pull and all nighters and miss my flight. Life eh 😂haha.

Koalie · 13/09/2022 16:37

@Carla2601 oh nooo! Always better to be safe than sorry though!! Xx

jadebz10 · 13/09/2022 18:01

Thank you all for the extremely kind words.

@Hoping43@Hoping43
(not sure why it's tagged you twice, sorry). I'm sorry to hear what you are going through. How does letrozole work? Are you booked in for IVF or is there a waiting list? Although I hope this works with no need to go down the IVF route 🙏I couldn't agree more regarding the emotional side! I have my fingers crossed for you.

@Tinkerbell098 - hello! Thank you for your message. How are you?
It is through the NHS and unfortunately I have no idea about the waiting list. I'm not a priority though unfortunately. I would love to get it done sooner rather than later as she has ordered a HSG at the same time to check my tubes are clear. I have heard great things about these.

@Koalie - thank you so much, I will be sure to add any questions here! I do find stories so helpful so I search mums net constantly! What was your last test today and how long until the results? Fingers crossed all is well and you can be referred.

@Carla2601 - I have had all my tests, I have had them through the NHS and I also did ones privately to make sure through medichecks. The main reason they put me through them was because medichrcks came back with high prolactin but when I had it through the docs, everything was fine. Unfortunately, I can't be referred for help as my BMI is still high. I'm still trying to lose weight. I only have a stone to go, after losing over a stone already so not a massive amount! We definitely could do with my partners SA being done but we have said that we will get some male fertility vitamins for him in the meantime and go on the basis that something might be wrong. Have any of you got any recommendations on male fertility vitamins, I like the look of the Holland and barrat ones, with the ashwagandha and maca root in?

Koalie · 13/09/2022 18:09

@jadebz10 It was just my prolactin bloods today .. hopefully get the results in the next couple of days 🤞🏼

I think when it comes to male fertility supplements, it’s a bit difficult because if you’re trying to treat low motility, morphology or count then the standard high street supplements won’t cut it. My husband is currently taking Proxeed, Ubiniquol, Pycnogenol and Vital DHA to improve his motility but we have spend hundreds of £s on these so you may not want to go down that route until you know whether there’s anything to improve on. Before we got hubby’s SA results he was just taking the wellman conception vitamins 🙂 x

lemons44 · 14/09/2022 08:22

Hi all

@Koalie fingers crossed your hubby doesn't get covid!

Welcome @jadebz10 this really is such a supportive group so don't worry, we are already here for you.

@Carla2601 so sorry you had a scare but I am so relieved that everything is ok.

Ladies... tomorrow is the day 😳.
After almost 5 months since our initial fertility tests we finally have DH's procedure tomorrow to see if they can find any sperm🫣🫣
I am beyond nervous. I honestly think if they don't find any sperm it will break me.

Carla2601 · 14/09/2022 08:49

@lemons44 oh my goodness! I’ll be thinking about you both tomorrow because I know how nerve wracking it is waiting to hear but it’s super quick (or it was for us) if that helps at all. I still remember my OH calling me slurring his words from the general to tell me. I am hoping like crazy you get the exact same outcome. Please let us know when you can and ALL THE LUCK there is from me to you, it’s been so rough you so deserve it x

Koalie · 14/09/2022 09:58

@lemons44 oh gosh … wishing you so much luck for tomorrow!! I will be thinking of you both. 🍀xx

Tinkerbell098 · 14/09/2022 10:09

@lemons44 wishing you all the luck in the world. Will be thinking of you both. Lots of love XX

Hoping43 · 14/09/2022 11:40

@lemons44 good luck!! Hope it goes well xx

FlyOnTheWall89 · 14/09/2022 12:49

@lemons44 sending you so much love. I really hope it's good news. X

FlyOnTheWall89 · 14/09/2022 12:52

@jadebz10 I see this so often. If you've had ALL your tests, and you're 18 months in and yours have come back clear, it is far more likely to be an issue with your partner than with yourself. That should be your priority. He needs to get a SA ASAP. Treating sperm issues is not straightforward or black and white and can take months of either further diagnosis or just 'waiting and seeing' if supplements help. This is the reason the NHS just route you down the IVF route if there is a male issue, rather than attempting to 'treat / further investigate'.

lemons44 · 14/09/2022 13:05

They've just cancelled our procedure for tomorrow. I'm literally sat here sobbing.

NatW2021 · 14/09/2022 14:29

@lemons44 - i was just jumping on to wish you all the best then seen your message! Omg how awful, what was there reason and how long do you have to wait? I would be so angry, i really feel your frustration.

@Tinkerbell098 - Amazing, will be thinking of you 💗

@Koalie - Bet you cant wait to get started again, has it been a long 3 months or did the break do you good.

Not much to report my end, AF due Saturday and i know it's coming, emotional and depressed as per usual and cant help but feel like im in no mans land at the moment with no hope or end in sight x

Koalie · 14/09/2022 14:40

@lemons44 I have no words. I’m so sorry! I feel so frustrated for you … what reason have they given? xx

lemons44 · 14/09/2022 14:59

Thank you ☹️

They've just made a massive mistake. My DH has a very mild and common medical condition (won't go into loads of details so it's not really outing) but think along the lines of a heart murmur. The anaesthetist is refusing to do the procedure until he has seen DH's full medical records because of this condition. So now we have to wait to get his medical records from the NHS which is probably going to take ages ☹️ although I pretty much cried on the phone to my doctor's receptionists and they said they would process it as urgent.

DH has hit the roof because they have had 7 WEEKS to ask for these and yet they tell us the day before. Not to mention this condition has been on his records ever since we joined the clinic 5 months ago and it was discussed at the screening appointment two weeks ago. They kept apologising and have said as soon as they get the records they will do the procedure straight away.

I just don't even know what to think or say. We have paid over £2000 for this procedure. I don't understand how they let this slip.

DH said at least the last 7 weeks went quickly and hopefully the next few weeks will go quickly too, but they haven't gone quickly for me. I've literally been counting the days and hours ☹️

Just bloody fed up

Tinkerbell098 · 14/09/2022 15:35

@lemons44 I'm so sorry to hear this and completely understand how frustrating it can be. I have no words. I really hope they get this sorted ASAP and book you in urgently.

Koalie · 14/09/2022 15:59

@lemons44 .. I had a little tear myself reading this. I feel so gutted for you. Do you know who you can speak to/harass at the NHS for the records? Hopefully you can get them more quickly than you think … at least you know you won’t have to wait ages for another appointment when they do finally come in. I feel like nothing is ever straight forward with the NHS .. the incompetence when it comes to processing applications and the admin involved is infuriating! So so unfair. Thinking of you and sending you lots of hugs xxx

Koalie · 14/09/2022 16:07

@lemons44

Just remembered you went private for the extraction .. either way, NHS or private, incompetence with a situation as precious to people as this, is not OK. ☹️ X

Carla2601 · 14/09/2022 16:39

@lemons44 i am so sorry.

We had something like this come up and I phoned the GP and sobbed and sobbed to the clinic and in the end it only delayed us by about 4 days - it was an equally annoying thing they hadn’t told us.

Youre paying and they messed up so they sort of have to accommodate you now. Good luck and keep us posted and sorry again x

lemons44 · 14/09/2022 19:12

Thanks all❤️ and sorry I am being such a negative Nelly. It's just been one of those days. Now I've calmed down I know the anaesthetist is just doing his/her job. I suppose there's obviously been a bit of an admin blip somewhere along the line and we can't change it now.

Me and DH have ordered pizza and wine. We will sulk for tonight and then I'll probably just try and keep busy from tomorrow while the waiting continues.

xx

FlyOnTheWall89 · 14/09/2022 19:45

@lemons44 omg I want to call them for you and shout and stamp my feet. That is so far off okay, particularly when you're paying privately. That is a massive error on their part and I'd be making a complaint. This is an enormous emotional thing for you both to have built yourself up for and now to be let down by the clinic in this way is completely unacceptable.

Enjoy the delicious wine and pizza. You will get there even though it feels all so out of reach. Hugs x

KatieLooLa · 20/09/2022 11:14

Hiya ladies!
Quick update for you all.
I've had my first appointment with the fertility clinic.
Downside is no treatment (if needed) until I lose weight - so need to diet, thankfully Ares provides the exercise!
Need to have a couple blood tests to check my hormone levels are right and have a HSG scan (x-ray to make sure there's no blockages.
Hope you're all doing well! X

NatW2021 · 20/09/2022 16:01

@KatieLooLa - glad to hear it went well, have you got much to lose? I am in the same boat i really struggle with it.

Update from me - AF arrived Saturday so no post hycosy luck for me as of yet. I have booked a private consultation at my local hospital (i am under them already via NHS) to hopefully try ovulation medication to give things a boost. @BritInNZ your story gives me hope although i am worrying it will mess my cycle up but its worth a go as im cycle 16 now and the natural approach just doesnt seem to be working

KatieLooLa · 20/09/2022 17:02

@NatW2021 I need to lose about a stone and half (21lbs) just got ring fit for the switch for my birthday (late present) today so that will help a bit! Had a little go on it before I headed out to work - shattering but fun!
I lost weight before after struggling for years, but then I moved in with my partner 😂

Indianna2006 · 20/09/2022 17:29

@lemons44 so sorry to read your procedure was cancelled. After waiting and building yourself up to. It’s absolutely gutting for you. Definitely put on your parts and make sure the Drs chase these notes through fast. You never know. It may not be too much of a delay. Demand to be in asap once they have them. It’s a joke when you’ve paid private!

@NatW2021 hycosy luck can be upto 3 cycles. So you never know 🤞🏼 But good idea to maybe think of some other plans and things to boost if not.

@Koalie good luck for your first new cycle again. Hope the break gave you a bit of a breather. And now will be your time.
