@ZoeQ90 welcome - this is a wonderful supportive thread. So sorry to hear about your miscarriage.

@Hoping43 good luck with your appointment. Lots of us are 36 (or older) and hoping we still have time on our side.

Carla2601 · 04/09/2022 22:13

@lemons44 under two weeks now!! We’ll be cheering you on from here - so so so hoping for good news for you both ☺️

@Koalie so sorry totally missed your update on the appointment that’s really brilliant news! Keep us posted

NatW2021 · 05/09/2022 08:04

@Hoping43 - i get it, its hard when there isn't a reason for it not happening and when it hasnt happend all those months it really is difficult to believe it will, like Whats changed? I am in a similar position - like how long do you give it? Do we give it to the two year mark or just give it a few months after the hycosy and just start the process. It does feel like such a waste of time and energy. Totally understand 💗 xx

@ZoeQ90 - a warm welcome sorry you in this situation aswell xx

Hoping43 · 05/09/2022 08:15

@Carla2601 thanks. I think for me I can see first hand the impact age has had on me. It was so straight forward when I was 6 years and 4 years younger. Also, my blood tests weren’t great. AMH ok but FSH was on the higher side which the consultant told me was an indication things are starting to change. I just don’t think I can hang on any longer!! Did you have any frozen embryos after your IVF round?

Carla2601 · 05/09/2022 23:15

@Hoping43 yep we had 8 more to be frozen as there were 9 embryos in total. Not getting ahead of myself though, when we were told we would likely never have a family I knew I’d be happy with one so even if none of those 8 work if this one’s ok then I’ll take that for sure!

Hoping43 · 05/09/2022 23:28

@Carla2601 i know what you mean although 18 months ago we agreed if it didn’t happen we would draw the line and we wouldn’t go down the treatment route. But emotions and the strong maternal desire have taken over and I feel I can’t rest until I’ve tried everything!

Hoping43 · 05/09/2022 23:29

@Carla2601 also just out of interest, do you have to pay to have each of those FETs? We are currently debating a refund package vs single rounds x

Carla2601 · 06/09/2022 07:56

@Hoping43 yep another circa £2000 for every try so if we try them all we’ll have spent about £40k

Hoping43 · 06/09/2022 08:03

@Carla2601 sorry for all the questions but did you buy a package in the first place? X

Carla2601 · 06/09/2022 09:59

@Hoping43 no and we did go with one of the ‘best’ (who knows but in terms of ratings I mean) clinics in the country and so it was always going to be more expensive. We can’t afford it we got some help and haven’t been on holiday since 2019 and counting but we didn’t have a child and that’s what we wanted more than anything so you do what you have to don’t you

Hoping43 · 06/09/2022 10:19

@Carla2601 yes absolutely. I have two and I’m still going to find the money. The maternal desire is just so overwhelming! But I think we are going to pay for a package but need to decide 2 vs 3 cycles. I just don’t know. I don’t want to commit to something that’s then not affordable or sustainable if we decide it’s impacting our other children too much etc

Tinkerbell098 · 12/09/2022 15:55

Hi all, hope everyone's well. I've been for my baseline scan today and got 8 follicles on the left and 10 on the right, so got the go ahead to start stims this evening! Surprised I won't have another scan until Wednesday next week, perhaps due to the bank holiday on Monday. Excited to start finally!

Koalie · 12/09/2022 17:26

@Tinkerbell098 That’s a good amount, right? 🤭 Wishing you so much luck! 🍀keep us updated. Xx

lemons44 · 12/09/2022 20:21

That's amazing @Tinkerbell098 and so so exciting!
How are you feeling about it all?

Hoping43 · 12/09/2022 21:41

@Tinkerbell098 that’s good news. How long have you been trying now?

I think we are just going to do one more cycle of letrozole and then move to IVF before Xmas x

FlyOnTheWall89 · 12/09/2022 21:49

Wooooo @Tinkerbell098 so thrilled you're starting. Keep us updated and hope you feel positive about this next step. X

Carla2601 · 12/09/2022 22:49

@Tinkerbell098 thats great news!!! weird on the scan though, I had to have them every other day so might be worth pushing for a second one Friday as by next weds you might be ready for trigger depending on how you respond, that being said I found them anxiety inducing and apart from adapting my dose once they didn’t do anything differently so maybe better this way.

So so happy it’s gone well so far and hope you find the jabs ok too. SO MUCH LUCK xx

Tinkerbell098 · 13/09/2022 11:35

Thanks everyone! first injection went well. I was so terrified, so OH had to do it and I just closed my eyes. Couldn't believe it was finally happening. The needle was very very fine so didn't really feel it at all.

@Carla2601 they said they'll get all the information they need from the blood test on Friday, who knows! Hope you're keeping well X

@Hoping43 it's been about 2 years, stopped counting a while ago now.

Hoping43 · 13/09/2022 12:02

@Tinkerbell098 I know the feeling! Is it unexplained infertility? Xx

jadebz10 · 13/09/2022 12:58

Hi All, I hope you are all OK.
Would I be able to join this please? Me and my partner are currently on month 18 of TTC and have never had a Bfp. I have had the blood tests done and all came back normal. My other half was meant to have the SA a few weeks ago but had a bad accident a few days before (just our luck) so now has to book in again. I have tried so many different things, Vit D, Ovulation support (conceive plus), pregnacare his and hers, a concoction of vitamins, preseed, raspberry leaf tea, no alcohol, dairy free, lost 9kg and nothings done the trick.
I suspect I may have endo and I'm currently waiting for a larposcopy to diagnose, the consultant doesn't think I have it but it's the only thing that explains my painful periods, painful sex and javelin arse when I'm on!
I am due on in a couple of days and pretty much know from my RHR that I haven't conceived this cycle either, so just spent the last 30 mins in tears because I'm fed up, when I came across this chat. Xxxx

Hoping43 · 13/09/2022 14:04

@jadebz10 hello and welcome to the thread although sorry you have to join us 😕. A few people on the thread are pregnant now after 15+ months TTC naturally/IVF etc.

I am TTC my third and been trying for almost 18 months too with no problems previously. I am trying letrozole as a last ditch attempt before IVF but I think I’m going to give it up within the next couple of months as I need to draw a line under all of this one way or another as it’s too emotionally draining.

it’s good they are going to do a laparoscopy, I’ve heard they’re a really important part of diagnosing x

Tinkerbell098 · 13/09/2022 14:17

@Hoping43 yes it is unexplained.

@jadebz10 hi, welcome :) sorry you've found yourself here, but hopefully you'll find it helpful to talk to us, I certainly did. A lot of us have been through similar and will have a wealth of knowledge to share. It's good to get a laparoscopy to rule out things. Is it through NHS? Did they say how long the wait was?
The feeling knowing you're about to get your period is the worst, another month gone, failed. It's just too much to bear. Treat yourself to something nice and take care of yourself X

Koalie · 13/09/2022 14:53

@jadebz10 welcome to the group. I’m so sorry you’re having a shit time - everyone here knows how it feels and we all have such a wide range of different experiences so if you ever have a question there’s almost always somebody who can help or shed some light. I’d say definitely continue perusing your endo hunch but also get hubby’s SA are booked to rule male factor out too.

For me, every month that goes by that I’m not pregnant, I can’t help thinking of it as another month that I will miss of my babies growing up … like precious time with my babies (which I don’t even have yet) is being taken away from me!! Does anyone else think of it like that or just me?

Update for everyone anyway … I am eagerly awaiting CD1 so that we can start trying again and hubby is desperately trying to avoid covid so that we don’t mess up all of his hard work on his sperm these past 3 months 😆 we still haven’t been referred properly to fertility because the idiots keep messing up our bloods … I had (hopefully) my last test today before our referral can finally be put through!

How are all the pregnant ladies doing? Would love to hear how you’re all getting on ☺️

xx

Carla2601 · 13/09/2022 16:02

@Tinkerbell098 yes!!! Well done! They’re really nowhere near as bad as you expect are they, by the end you’ll just be doing it as second nature I’m sure because I was also terrified and pleasantly surprised. Ah yeah they will, they changed my dose based on bloods now I think about it and as I say the scans just made me more anxious if anything. Good luck and keep us posted with how you’re feeling.

@jadebz10 welcome to the thread - sorry you’re here but pleased you’re getting tests as the results even when scary at least help
you plan (hopefully). Have you got everything booked in or still waiting for appointments to come through?

@Koalie i felt that way too! But then my brother said that basically means your time is pre determined (which I don’t believe but of course I know some people do and that’s their call I know everyone’s different) and I liked how he put it because it squashed that thought for me a bit not sure if it’ll help you. I’m feeling ok thanks - had to go in last week for reduced movements but all good and kicking away like the raver it is again now. Less than 15 weeks to go which given our house move is dragging on feels unbelievable but I can’t wait too! When’s CD1 for you?

Koalie · 13/09/2022 16:26

@Carla2601 .. thanks for that perspective! I’m not sure whether I believe our time is pre determined. 🤔 I think it’s just because my Mum died when I was 29 and I just feel like if she’d had me earlier then we’d have had more time together and I can’t seem to get that out of my head. 🥺

Oh gosh .. that must have been scary! I remember my friend’s baby not moving whilst we were away for my birthday once and we were googling everything and the one thing that got her going again was my friend laying on her left side 🤷🏻‍♀️ Baby is the most beautiful little 18 month old angel now 😆

CD1 should be Friday or Saturday … bring it onnnn ☺️ X
