Hi @KatieLooLa thats great news ! My husband and I have just been referred too and after initially being told it could take 18 months - 2 years, we’re now being told it’ll be about 6 weeks before we are called.

However, I’ve also been told that only my husband has been referred and that I need to ask the GP to send a referral for me as well - did anyone else have to do that?! Seems bizarre to me that we wouldn’t automatically be referred together 🤨

@NatW2021 well done for getting it out the way! What was it like? I’m pleased it was a positive outcome - did they say what the next step is now for you? Xx

NatW2021 · 25/08/2022 18:13

@KatieLooLa - great news about your appointment, they just did an ultrasound, bloods to do AMH then lots of medical questions. We waited 3 months for a follow up then was told i need to lose weight for ivf.

@Koalie - the procedure didnt hurt it was just uncomfortable and as i have a tiled cervix or something along them lines it took 3 people and the end the dr had to do it but i am so pleased its over with and everything looked normal. I am hoping it give everything a good flush. It was in a private clinic so no next steps yet, i am still loosing weight and hopefully can try Letrozole soon when my bmi is at the right number. My follicle count was good today 13 and 9! Hoping for some post hycosy luck. Obviously everything seems normal so you wonder why its not happening however at least i know there hope for sure now 🙏 x

KatieLooLa · 25/08/2022 19:28

@Koalie that's weird, my GP wouldn't refer me without my partner

@NatW2021 initially we were told it could take 10 months for the referral to go through (went in March/April) got the call last week saying I have an appointment. I'm probably going to be in the same boat with being told to lose weight but we'll see!

Koalie · 25/08/2022 19:29

@NatW2021 Glad it wasn’t too bad for you! I have read about HyCosy being the magic trick for some women who are struggling to conceive so I hope so much that it’s the same for you 🤞🏼

Carla2601 · 26/08/2022 00:54

@NatW2021 well done! So glad it’s out the way and all good. How are you feeling?

NatW2021 · 26/08/2022 07:34

@Koalie - i have heard that too fingers crossed 🙏🤞

@Carla260 - thanks 😊 so pleased its done its such a relief its been hanging over me for a long time wondering what if, obviously you start wondering why if everything looks normal but i feel i know for sure a miracle cant a least happen.

Last cycle i noticed loads of ewcm after ovulation and im cd8 and i have just noticed when i went the loo so i am really hoping this is a positive sign as i never see it this early if ever, the only thing thats changed is a little weigh loss and my TSH coming down to 1.12 after my dose was upped so lets hope its a positive sigh 🙏🤞 xx

NatW2021 · 26/08/2022 07:35

@Carla2601 a miracle CAN happen* god my typos are shocking 😂

Carla2601 · 26/08/2022 23:37

@NatW2021 so good to be able to take control of some things and make some positive progress! Miracles definitely can happen - did they discuss any further tests or next steps with you?

NatW2021 · 27/08/2022 09:21

@Carla2601 - no it was just a stand alone procedure, i have lost 10lbs this month so i have 1st to go to get to a bmi of 35 before i can ask for letrozole so no point paying for a private consultation as they will most likely tell me to lose weight. Hopefully i can lose it in next 2 months.

Its crazy as everything seems
" normal" you wonder why its not happening but i do feel better knowing the hycosy is clear and out the way x

FlyOnTheWall89 · 27/08/2022 10:18

@NatW2021 really glad you have ticked the hycosy off the to do list. Well done on the 10lbs too. Hope the next few months bring you some much needed luck xx

NatW2021 · 30/08/2022 13:26

@FlyOnTheWall89 Thank you 💗

How is everyone doing? I am cd11/12 meant to be ovulation day today/tomorrow and opks are stark white, bloody typical as i am away with work tomorrow and i am normally like clock work. Hopefully peak falls on thursday when im back x

Koalie · 30/08/2022 15:07

Hi @NatW2021 🙂
Oh that is typical isn’t it?! 😆 maybe sneak a little morning session in before you go away just in case 😉
I’m all good here … doing Jason Vale’s 7 day juice diet for a good detox before my best friend’s wedding next week. I watched his documentary on YouTube and was just amazed at the results so I’m giving it a go 😊 The wedding is giving me something to look forward to and keeping me going tbh and then next cycle we can start trying again! X

lemons44 · 30/08/2022 16:51

Hey ladies

@kmbegs that is so sweet! Unfortunately for me I am superstitious so wouldn't want any pregnancy tests until we know if DH has sperm or not! 30 weeks wow 😃😱 I hope you're feeling ok, how exciting to be so close now 💕

@NatW2021 I'm soo glad your hycosy is done and dusted! I really hope you gave yourself a little reward for going through that as I know you were really nervous. If not then I demand you schedule a very indulgent bubble bath for this evening!!
That's also great news about the 10lb. Huge well done 👏 👏

Not much to update from here. We went to DH's pre-procedure screening appointment today. We got to ask some questions about the procedure. They said that they will be taking any sperm they do find straight to the lab (which is on site) to be tested. So not only will we know if there's sperm but also how good it is, on the same day as the procedure. It will be such a huge day for us. Only 2 weeks and 2 days to go.

FlyOnTheWall89 · 30/08/2022 16:54

Such great news @lemons44 - it must have felt like a lifetime waiting but you're nearly there and it will be great to have all those facts straight away. Keeping everything crossed for you!

NatW2021 · 30/08/2022 19:30

@Koalie that sounds good, it helps having things to look forward too, those 2 months have gone quickly already.

@lemons44 - thanks so relieved its out the way and apart from a lot of poking and prodding it wasn't as painful as i was expecting. The appointment will soon be here and as @FlyOnTheWall89 the said you will have the facts there and then and no more waiting round for the result, thats the bonus with going private! X

lemons44 · 03/09/2022 09:29

Thanks @FlyOnTheWall89 💕

@NatW2021 did you manage to catch ovulation day when you got back from your work trip?

lemons44 · 03/09/2022 09:30

P.s happy weekend all 💕

NatW2021 · 03/09/2022 09:50

@lemons44 i think so its been a weird one as i normally ovulate day 12 like clockwork apart from 1 or 2 cycles. This month my opks were negative cd11/12 then i think i may have got a peak Wednesday when i was away but was using a different opk from boots as i had run out from my ususal ones so hard to read, did one when i got home Thursday and it was very much peak, DTD then Friday morning my temp was really low so DTD again later on 😂 my temp has gone up from 36.30 friday to 36.44 this morning but it usually jumps much higher after ovulation so god knows 🤷‍♀️ husband is worn out so i think we have give it our best shpt. i had bouts of EWCM early on from cd10 until yesterday but not constantly, so very much a different cycle with later ovulation and EWCM.

Ovulation pains have eased off so i think i have ovulated - now for the dreaded TWW 😫

How are you x

lemons44 · 04/09/2022 16:47

Ohh @NatW2021 that does sound like a weird cycle. At least you managed to get some DTD in. I am keeping EVERYTHING CROSSED that the post-hycosy magic works for you this cycle❤️

I am ok thank you. Currently have AF so have all the normal cramps and general crazy AF hormones 🤪I walked past a Big Issue seller yesterday and then after a while of walking up the road I started crying because I felt sad for him then made DH go back and buy a copy 😅😂 got to love hormones hey?! x

NatW2021 · 04/09/2022 17:59

@lemons44 trying to take the positives that i ovulated later and that i had ewcm as i dont usually get much - i can only think its because maybe my thyroid is in a better place after getting my meds increased. Trying nor t

NatW2021 · 04/09/2022 18:01

@lemons44 sorry sent before finishing - was saying trying not to get my hopes up.

Oh no i hate that when i am due/on AF i am so miserable and depressed then i pick myself up. X

ZoeQ90 · 04/09/2022 18:12

Can I join? On cycle 13. I did conceive and miscarry earlier this year so technically only 6 months without conceiving but going slightly insane, especially as many of my friends have just had kids or announced pregnancies.

Hoping43 · 04/09/2022 19:27

@ZoeQ90 welcome! Sorry to see you here though 😕.

Update from me, it doesn’t look like I’ve ovulated on 5mg of letrozole either so we have our IVF appt for October x

BritInNZ · 04/09/2022 20:20

@Hoping43 sorry to hear the letrozole didn't do the trick! Won't they try and increase the dose again? I'm sure I've seen people be on 7.5mg? I guess they're the experts though!

OP posts:
Hoping43 · 04/09/2022 20:40

@BritInNZ they will but I can’t be bothered. I had a 50 day cycle on 2.5mg and it looks like I’m heading for the same this time. It’s 4 months wasted and I’m 36 at Xmas and my two children and getting older. Not to mention the fact that TTC has ruined the last 18 months of my life. I’ve just had enough. I know that IVF isn’t a guaranteed result but it feels like we need to move forward and draw a line under it either way. Obviously the financial implications are massive, however
