@FlyOnTheWall89 - really is amazing news, miracles do happen 💗 how are you feeling any symptoms? What cycle are you again xx

Hoping43 · 17/06/2022 18:25

@FlyOnTheWall89 congrats! That’s amazing news!! How long were you TTC in the end? Xx

Koalie · 17/06/2022 18:45

Girls. What are your thoughts on this? None of it makes sense to me 😩

  • 5th June - first day of LMP

  • 13th June (CD9) - ultrasound with Mr Lower. Left ovary showing polycystic pattern, right ovary showing one really big follicle - he said it looks like I’m about to ovulate.

  • 14th June when I got home - positive OPK. Had sex for the first time this cycle.

  • 15th & 16th - still positive OPKs which is unusual for me to have such a long surge.

  • Today - still positive OPK, so decided to take a HPT … positive !!! Faint, but definitely positive.

I’ve also been having left sided pain all week which I put down to ovulation pain. Gone to EPAU this afternoon and they’ve done an ultrasound - saw corpus luteum cyst on the right (where my large follicle was on Monday) which would indicate I’ve just ovulated … how is this all possible? When they were poking the probe at my left ovary (with the polycystic pattern) it was agony! Blood test showed hcg at 46 … they’re going to re take on Monday. I suspected ectopic but they couldn’t see anything from the ultrasound. Now I’ve got a weekend of absolute brain scramble 😩🤯

FlyOnTheWall89 · 17/06/2022 19:20

@Hoping43 @NatW2021 thanks guys 💕. I think I'm about cycle 16 but I've slightly lost track. This is the second cycle after the HSG, although tubes were all clear.

Ye I have some back pain and also bloating. My tummy is hard and really pushed out. Other than that, all good. It's super early days but I am so excited and I'm just keeping everything crossed. Before I got the BFP, I would say that only thing which was super out of the ordinary were some spots on my jawline - not loads and not bad ones but noticeable. I had a some weird sensations in my legs too. I didn't test until I was 2 days late basically based on my more recent cycles and didn't even think for a moment I was pregnant before that.

Xxx

FlyOnTheWall89 · 17/06/2022 19:25

@Koalie oh wow, that's a strange one. So you ovulated 3 days ago and they've already detected HCG?!? I didn't even know that was possible? A long weekend wait ahead. Keeping everything crossed for you!

BritInNZ · 17/06/2022 19:38

@FlyOnTheWall89 this is amazing news!!! I don't have any upset or jealousy on here because I know we've all had such an awful time and it gives us all some hope! So pleased for you ❤️❤️❤️

Koalie · 17/06/2022 22:37

@FlyOnTheWall89 .. no, it’s not really possible. This pregnancy must be from the cycle before but hcg is very low if that’s the case. I’m scared it’s ectopic 😭 somethings definitely not right either way. 💔

Hoping43 · 17/06/2022 22:58

@FlyOnTheWall89 I’m really pleased it’s all worked out for you before IVF. Would you mind recapping your story? I feel it’s given us all hope. For some reason I thought you were much further down the line than us but doesn’t seem so. Maybe you just got all your testing done faster xx

FlyOnTheWall89 · 18/06/2022 07:03

@Koalie oh that is worrying. So you must have had a bleed that you thought was your period. So sorry.

@Hoping43 by the time we got to 9 months with no luck I felt instinctively there was something wrong, and I found those months from 6-12 very very difficult. My OH didn't want to begin tests so I went and had my day 3, day 21 and AMH bloods taken. All came back pretty text book except AMH which is slightly low for my age but shouldn't impact natural conception.

By January I finally got my OH to agree to a SA. It came back with low concentration, borderline overall count and 0% morphology which was the kicker. At this point we were referred to the fertility clinic and given an appointment. The gynea said every looked fine with me and then looked at my OHs results and said right okay IVF with ICSI will be required with these results and he suggested applying for funding. He said I should have a HSG to rule out a blocked tube. The next appointment was in March and I got told my protocol. Funding had been allocated at that point. We were not ready for IVF tbh. My OH wanted to make some lifestyle adjustments, start all the vitamins and see how it went. By end of March, his morphology had jumped to 9%, so was now well over normal. We went to see Dr Ramsay too in April to see if he could shed any light on the results - just the count at this point. He said he has seen plenty of people get pregnant with our numbers. The short story is nothing was evidently wrong. No varicolcele etc.

I went for HSG - all clear. And then last month we decided to just get on with it and we went to the nurse appointment 10 days ago and booked in starting IVF in August. As we had decided to just get going my OH hasn't done a SA since the end of March. It's now been 5/6 months of vitamins inc Proxeed. I stopped using AVA a few months ago as I had resigned myself to IVF. I think we DTD twice in the 4 days prior to ovulation.

A bit long, and a really specific male factor situation, but I hope it gives everyone a bit of hope.

Got my 2-3 digi so there is some good HCG floating about 🤞🏻. 💕

Hoping43 · 18/06/2022 07:47

@FlyOnTheWall89 thanks for re-telling us your story. It definitely makes me feel more hopeful! Congrats again and great news about your digi!

Hopefully we will get there as we have two already and they can’t find anything wrong but who knows. We are also beginning to discuss IVF now for the Autumn.

I am on third cycle since HSG now so don’t think it’s helped me. Though I am convinced mine is to do with my FSH being 9.6 and egg quality etc. AMH was normal at 18.6 but whatever the results, it’s not happening 🤯

FlyOnTheWall89 · 18/06/2022 08:03

It's so hard to tell. You won't get a black and white answer and then bam it could just happen @Hoping43. Maybe get a repeat set of bloods done to see if it's any lower? 🤞🏻for you 🤞🏻 x

NatW2021 · 18/06/2022 08:15

@FlyOnTheWall89 - so so pleased for you! My only hope is i get some good news soon, although without sounding like in feeling sorry for myself just doesn't feel like it will ever happen. I have my follow up with NHS on 26th July - i just want to get my hycosy done and also find out if i actually do have this adanomyosis (if i do its not looking good for the future as even chances of IVF are reduced) i just cant wait for this chapter to close good or bad 💔

Hoping43 · 18/06/2022 11:05

@BritInNZ how are you? Just a quick one… I think I’m going ti pay to go private and try letrozole before IVF. I’m thinking what do I have to lose 🤷🏼‍♀️. I did a Q&A with a consultant the other day and they said they thought it would benefit me as my cycles vary 28-34 days. I just wondered if you have any variation in your cycles? (Prior to letrozole). TIA xx

NatW2021 · 18/06/2022 12:29

@Hoping43 - how much does it cost?

Hoping43 · 18/06/2022 12:32

@NatW2021 i think hundreds not thousands 🙃

Indianna2006 · 18/06/2022 13:56

@Koalie that does all sound confusing. Was your bleed on or around 6th June abnormal for you or normal?

hmm if you had of been pregnant from last cycle on your ultrasound they would of seen something had it be in your uterus as you’d be around 6 weeks.
mad your hcg is very low does suggest something odd is going on. Possibly in unknown location. But then I wouldn’t think you’d ovuskte whereas then scans seem to indicate you have.

have you taken any more pregnancy tests to see if there staying faint line or getting darker. Hcg of 46 is a very early new pregnancy. But like you say. Somehow that doesn’t add up does it. Unless the scan he did an saw one big follicle. Maybe it already was a corpsum cyst and you had already ovulated and he got that wrong. But still with your cycle dates doesn’t make sense..sorry can’t be of much help.

think it may be a wait and see and what EPU suggest. Whether further bloods etc.

Indianna2006 · 18/06/2022 13:57

@FlyOnTheWall89 great news on the digi 💕

BritInNZ · 18/06/2022 19:44

@Hoping43 I'm good thanks! Still waiting for AF. She's due today, but haven't had any spotting or anything. So even if letrozole doesn't get me pregnant, it's definitely helping my hormones! I have very little variation in my cycles, pretty standard 27/28 days, although last month it was 30 days (that was just cruel). Did your private consultant say they would do a monitored cycle to start off with? We have done one monitored to make sure I don't over respond and end up with multiples, now I think we're left to our own devices for the next 5 months as 2.5mg showed it helped me ovulate two eggs. Letrozole isn't right for everyone, but if you think it's worth a shot then I'd go for it. I figured I had nothing to lose and it's a hell of a lot cheaper than the next stage of IVF! My first monitored cycle was about £250 and now my medication is only £8 for three months (these are NZD equivalents of course!) 😊

OP posts:
Hoping43 · 18/06/2022 20:21

@BritInNZ ooooh fingers crossed it doesn’t arrive!!

yes it would be a monitored cycle. The consultant said he thought it could benefit me, my own consultant said no but like you say it’s much cheaper and if it doesn’t work, what do I have to lose 🤷🏼‍♀️. I just don’t want it to make anything worse but don’t know if it can. I got pregnant with my first in the first month (thinking now I was super lucky), then my second took 8 months (maybe this was due to my cycle variation 🤷🏼‍♀️But still lucky), now we’re on month 15 so maybe it’s a combo of age and the cycle variation. Clutching at straws but it has to be something!

FlyOnTheWall89 · 19/06/2022 10:31

Keeping everything crossed for you @BritInNZ , I really really am.

Really interesting that even with a small variance in cycles, they think it could help @Hoping43 - have you always had sex throughout your cycle / do you do OPKs to pinpoint ovulation? Didn't realise you were in cycle 15. How old are your other two?

Hoping43 · 19/06/2022 10:46

@FlyOnTheWall89 yes, timing definitely isn’t the issue. I think I do ovulate, OPKs are normally positive etc. it just seems to be mixed views as my own clinic said it won’t help. My children are 5 and almost 3. We started TTC again when my youngest was 20 months so it’s all really strange that it’s not happening. I’m guessing it’s got to be age (I’m 35 now) x

Carla2601 · 19/06/2022 14:11

@Hoping43 its unlikely to be age at 35 is my understanding unless you have low AMH (which from memory you don’t?)

Hoping43 · 19/06/2022 15:44

@Carla2601 thanks. No, my AMH is normal but they said age is the number one factor and that they can’t test for egg quality so I figured they were alluding to the fact it could be that. They haven’t found anything wrong with any of their tests x

Carla2601 · 19/06/2022 18:41

@Hoping43 it definitely us but 35 isn’t old so on that front you should be good!

BritInNZ · 20/06/2022 07:19

Ladies... I think I just got my BFP 😭😭😭 I don't believe it's real?! I am petrified it's all a cruel lie!! Eeeek currently waiting for DH to get home to tell him. I have zero symptoms except sore boobs and constantly thirsty. I'm even getting AF type cramps - I did a test to put me out of my misery and this came up within seconds 😭
