Thank you @Catconfusion and @99pctpractice this is my test this morning 5dp5dt. It's definitely a wee bit more obvious

Good luck to everyone here!!
im 41 and have endometriosis so although I’m trying hard am not very confident.
can I ask a stupid question? If you KNOW you have ovulated and had sex at the right time, why do you not then get pregnant? Is it that the sperm is not ‘entering’ the egg? Is it getting in but then not fertilising and if not why not? Just curious!

October1979 · 17/09/2022 08:06

@Gameofmoans81 I think it could probably be egg or sperm quality. For me pretty sure it was egg quality. But I only think that as my OH semen analysis was good. But my ovarian reserve test was low. Although average for my age (41 at the time) I did get pregnant 4 times that year but had three chemical pregnancies and a miscarriage of twins. My period, ovulation and hormones were all good levels and regular. It was just a matter of waiting for the right egg that was chromosomaly normal. We have more abnormal eggs over 40. Although not impossible it does usually mean a longer wait and a bit of heartache from my own experience.

@October1979 that looks super hopeful to me given it's so early

Kelb79 · 17/09/2022 11:38

@October1979 Praying!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

YellowLoafers · 17/09/2022 11:54

@October1979 That’s definitely obvious! Really, really hopeful for you ❤️🤞🙏

Iusedtobedontcall · 17/09/2022 19:13

That looks very hopeful @October1979 - it’s a definite line. Everything crossed for you.

99pctpractice · 17/09/2022 19:27

@October1979 it's looking good so far, so many fingers and toes crossed for you!!

@Gameofmoans81 it could be so many things. After the age of 40, the chance of getting pregnant naturally each month is about 5%. Even at top notch 20s fertility, the probability is only around 25% though because so many stars have to align. First, the egg has to get to the right place (ie no tube issues). Then the sperm have to be both swimming fast enough and swimming in the right direction and arrive at the right time. Then, if they're lucky enough to meet and the egg is fertilised, you have to hope that both are good enough quality to create an embryo. Then, even if they make an embryo, it may not implant because of all sorts of things (not sure if endometriosis could be a factor at this stage). Or the embryo may implant but then not progress because of a chromosomal or progesterone or nk cell issue or something else isn't quite right. Basically, it's a bloody miracle that anyone ever gets and stays pregnant 🤣

You absolutely should! You're pregnant 😊
I think following your story you had two eggs implanted? Could be twins??

October1979 · 18/09/2022 17:42

@WonderWoop yes 2 eggs transferred. Although they said it was very unlikely to have twins with FET. Don't know why. I'd be delighted with 1 or 2. Just hope they stick xxx

WonderWoop · 19/09/2022 16:01

No idea why either. When do you go to the clinic?

Iusedtobedontcall · 19/09/2022 16:13

That’s a clear positive @October1979 - sending lots of positive thoughts your way.

I have had a positive OPK and stretchy cervical mucus- so pretty sure I’m ovulating. Feeling hopeful this month. I’ve got one of those cups that is meant to increase the chance of pregnancy by keeping the sperm closer to the cervix. Not sure if it will work - it’s a bit awkward to use - but worth a try.

Catconfusion · 22/09/2022 20:53

@October1979 I’m over the moon for you and your partner. Fingers crossed all will be well! Xx

October1979 · 22/09/2022 21:09

Thanks @Catconfusion I feel like we are holding our breath just now just hoping it sticks. I have my gp doing bloods on Tuesday and will arrange an early scan just after 6 weeks. If we get that far. However panicking that my tender boobs are disappearing today. I'm reading into everything x

I can only imagine how anxious you’re feeling @October1979 Try and relax over the weekend and look after yourself. Keep focussed on positive things and things you enjoy, mostly try to stay away from the symptom analysis thought spiral if you can. Tuesday bloods not far away now. Keeping everything crossed for you xx

Mattieandmummy · 23/09/2022 08:41

@October1979 congratulations that is absolutely definitely a positive test! Best of luck and I hope you do get two although obviously one would still be amazing x

October1979 · 23/09/2022 08:52

Thank you everyone you are all too kind I really appreciate all your support and kind thoughts. My lines are getting dark but I don't know if they are showing progress. Today is 11dp5dt. Which is 16dpo really. I'm driving myself mad. Don't know if the control line should be fainter

@October1979 all fingers crossed for you. I know how anxious a time this is and just try to remember that at the moment you are pregnant. And this was a young donor so the chances of there being a chromosomal issue are so much lower. The lines look super strong to me - once they get that strong i think it's harder to see a progression because there's nowhere to go!! Fingers crossed all is well at the Tues blood test. We're all thinking of you!! Xxx

Mattieandmummy · 23/09/2022 14:35

@October1979 in my experience the positive line can only get so dark and that's after three babies. I think you need to step away from the tests now, you're clearly pregnant and the tests can't tell you any more now. Just got to hang in there for the six week scan x

WonderWoop · 23/09/2022 23:14

I agree with @Mattieandmummy. Don't expect much more progression. You'll read too much into it. Just keep going (I know the nerves are a killer but that's all you can do)

October1979 · 24/09/2022 10:35

Thank you@Mattieandmummy @WonderWoop @99pctpractice all good advice. I will step away from testing and wait till Tuesday x

@October1979 im so happy to come back and see your positive pregnancy test I’ve been missing for a while as I lost a dear friend of mine and then I had covid for the second time and still have congestion and a cough .

but it was lovely to see your lines on the tests happy healthy 9 months to you x

traceyann44 · 26/09/2022 08:15

So as I’ve been missing I have just turned 51 years young I say that cause I don’t feel that old lol … anyway I’m thinking of doing conceive plus next month and getting the proov ovarian reserve test kit to see where my eggs are at I have a feeling they may be low but I might surprise myself … but we will see I’m going to give the conceive plus a go first and see what happens then if af arrives I’ll order proov ..

im also going to take a break from temping it shows me clearly I’ve ovulated so I’m not worried about that I’m just going to use opks and hope for a little less stress x

hope everyone is okay and have a good day x

Kelb79 · 26/09/2022 08:19
