@JeanieJ I am so so sorry dear. Thank you for telling us about it and you will get through this. All the love and hugs xxx

Tillybabs · 26/04/2022 11:49

@JeanieJ if I remember correctly I think you are under the same hospital as myself? Croydon?

I hope everything else goes as well as it can and at least when you're ready the funding is there xx

@thislittlebird @beckyCarlos @Sofasogood1 thanks ladies. I'm ok now but now worried that I have scar tissue or something. My mind just works overtime! I had a hysterocopy in February and he did a scrape to remove polyps although he made it very clear it was a gentle one so as to cause no damage but it hasn't stopped me thinking all sorts. But it seems this happens to many women. I hope you natural cycle is better but I don't know when to expect a period now?

The Consultant told me to take cyclogest for 5 days and wait for my period. Any idea when that might be?

thislittlebird · 26/04/2022 12:10

@Tillybabs it’s probably just unfortunate rather than a problem, my other thread friend doesn’t seem to respond to oestrogen like they expect so it could be the same for you. Have they told you your lining measurements in the past during a scan?
Why do you have to take the Cyclogest? Isn’t that just holding the period off? I don’t know an awful lot about medicated cycles, someone else here might know more.

JeanieJ · 26/04/2022 12:27

@Tillybabs yes I'm with Croydon.
I called them this morning & they said when I'm ready, I just call them on day 1 of my period to do Pre IVF scans etc.
Really sorry about your lining? Any indication of why?
I'm a bit nervous my d&c will cause me issues in terms of scarring, but they did say it was uncomplicated, so fingers crossed. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Tillybabs · 26/04/2022 12:32

@JeanieJ I wouldn't worry too much. It's rare to happen and it's just my mind working overtime.

She said it could be the buserelin and that some people just react differently to suppression. She wants to see how it looks during my natural cycle as it could be thicker

Sofasogood1 · 26/04/2022 13:39

@Tillybabs I think they'd be able to tell you if you had scar tissue? My lining is thin too and I asked whether it was likely due to a d&c following a missed miscarriage 10 years ago or abortion I had (over 20!!) years ago and the consultant scanning said they couldn't see any damage to my womb.

I'm having a bit of brown spotting today, had the same yesterday. Can't remember if I said already. I've never had spotting in my life. Not sure I'd even notice if I wasn't looking. Small brown smear while wiping, not red. But spoke to consultant this morning who at least said a test on Friday should be accurate so I don't have to torture myself over the weekend (though if negative on Friday to keep taking the drugs over the weekend and re test Monday).

Fuck, typing this I realised I didn't do my drugs this morning! I had a change in routine and forgot. Fuckedy fuck fuck!!!!!!!

Tillybabs · 26/04/2022 13:53

@Sofasogood1 yes I'm sorry to say I've had an abortion may years ago and now wondering if I'm paying for it. But I think it's just our minds overthinking tbh. There could be lots of reasons why.

Spotting could be a good sign so I have my fingers crossed for you. I've read implantation bleeding can be light pink to purple brown.

Oh no is it too late to take it now? Try not to worry too much about it I'm sure taking it late won't matter too much.

Sofasogood1 · 26/04/2022 14:05

@Tillybabs I've just taken it! One pessary up the bum one injection in the tum. Benefits of WFH!

Please please don't go down that road of 'paying for it'. You aren't. It's shit what you're going through now but it's not punishment it's just shitty luck. Obvs I don't know your circumstances about your termination but thank GOD I didn't have a child with that absolute loser from my past. It was absolutely the right decision then for me and I'm sure you and the universe isn't punishing you, I promise. Xx

thislittlebird · 26/04/2022 14:05

@Sofasogood1 take it now you’ve remembered, it’ll be ok. what drugs are you on now? Or is it just progesterone? The brown spotting isn’t necessarily a bad sign, fingers crossed for your test.

thislittlebird · 26/04/2022 14:12

@Sofasogood1 ok I’ve just seen you’re doing injections on top of the old bum pessary hmmm 🤔

None of you are ‘paying for it’. I’ve never had an abortion and I’m here with you, unless I’m paying for just being a bit of a shit person occasionally 🙃

Kay00 · 26/04/2022 20:03

@jeanieJ 😥 I'm do sorry to hear about your miscarriage. We're here for you should you need us anytime xx

I had my meds delivered today. And I'm due to start my Norethisterone on Friday (CD21). I take it for 7 days then will start bleeding around 3 days later. I should call the clinic on CD1 to arrange my baseline scan.

BUT.... I'll be in Norway when I start bleeding and might need to travel home from my holiday a day or two early if the scan is booked earlier than I hope.

So, would it be really naughty to start the Norethisterone on CD22?? Just to give myself a little more time?

Tillybabs · 26/04/2022 20:20

@Sofasogood1 that made me laugh about pessary up the bum 🤣 the things we go through! No always say to my Mr that all he had to do was cum in a cup 😒

But you and @thislittlebird are right, we aren't being punished it's just life and it doesn't mean it won't happen.

@Kay00 I don't see why not especially if CD1 is really CD2 unless you already had that in mind but still, I wouldn't imagine it would make a huge difference but just check it out online maybe

thislittlebird · 27/04/2022 16:37

@Kay00 I don’t know much about norethisterone. Are you down regging?

@Tillybabs it’s so true! It’s a spectator sport for them.

Well, I’m very much in the hellish symptom spotting part of the tww. I don’t even have any symptoms really 😂. I was going to book a holiday if I got a negative but I might have booked a lovely little villa with a private pool in Cyprus this morning 😳. Flights are taking the piss though, they’re so expensive! Was planning to pay more for accommodation so we could be away from families and corona, but the flights are coming in at £800-900 for two of us. Anyway, the nice part is whatever the outcome I can have a nice, if surprisingly pricey, break in June, possibly before we start this all over again.

beckyCarlos · 27/04/2022 16:52

@thislittlebird I'm so jealous of your break (not the flights cost though 😅) no matter what you have something to look forward to!

I'm definitely not doing them wrong (I've tripple checked the instructions haha) but my progesterone goes in my vag! Is it better in the bum? 🤣 what a question lol.

thislittlebird · 27/04/2022 17:15

@beckyCarlos it’s better in the bum for me 😭😂. Can’t be dealing with all that mess and I’d have constant thrush. But they don’t all allow bum usage, which one are you on? I’m on Cyclogest.

I think the super cute villa makes up for the flight price somehow???? Not in cost though, nearly £2k for a week in Cyprus is giving me palpitations. I would have loved to have gone further afield but have to stay in Europe because of bloody ivf and zika.

Sofasogood1 · 27/04/2022 18:10

@thislittlebird I am booking a holiday too! Tested this morn (8dp5dt) and it was a big fat negative. Assuming it's not going to change but clinic said to test Friday on day 10 and again on OTD Monday, day 13, and to continue the jabs and pills until then.

Anyway, yes. DP going away for the weekend this weekend in which we will negotiate when we can both fit a week off before frozen cycle 2!

Sofasogood1 · 27/04/2022 18:11

*DP and I going away.

Kay00 · 27/04/2022 19:11

@sofasogood1 hopefully your testing too early xx

@thislittlebird what an exciting holiday!! I think some sun will be necessary no matter the outcome 😄

I don't think I'm down regging. The norethisterone is progesterone to finish my current cycle off and give my body 'a good clear out' apparently. Then on CD1 I call the clinic and start stimming after my baseline scan.

thislittlebird · 27/04/2022 20:16

@Sofasogood1 well fingers crossed you have gone too early, keep us posted. We decided on June 6th week because of that long bank holiday. Then thinking late June or July for transfer 2 if this one fails. it’s going to be an expensive year if we have to book holidays for every transfer 😭😂. I saw you on the mumsnet holidays forum yesterday! I have no idea how we settled on Cyprus suddenly last night, but we’re going early June and the weather should be ok there at that time, my husband has never been and he’s happy to drive on the left out there so we’re thinking of exploring the forest or mountains while there, and we found this nice place with a private pool last night.

This is the villa: www.vrbo.com/en-gb/p8707512?adultsCount=2&arrival=2022-06-04&departure=2022-06-11&uni_id=4769874
I thought it was lovely and I might have a loud neighbour or two at most (hopefully not!!!!) but I won’t have bastard loud kids who aren’t mine and idiots splashing around and young women with cute babies to envy in the shared pool because it’s private! 🙌

Where are you two off to this weekend?

@Kay00 deffo up for the sun and if I test negative on Monday I have a month to lose as much weight as possible because I’m a stone plus overweight right now!!!! Oh yeah you’re not downregging. They’re just scheduling you in with the norethistrone, I think it’s common. I just say no to everything which must annoy them!

Tillybabs · 27/04/2022 21:53

Holidays are much needed but they have increased significantly along with everything else 😒

@Sofasogood1 I hope it's just early days and you get that BFP

Kay00 · 27/04/2022 22:41

@thislittlebird your holiday villa looks incredible!! 😍 im super jealous 😁

thislittlebird · 27/04/2022 23:41

@Tillybabs it only dawned on me just how much they'd increased when I started looking for flights! Huge difference!

@Kay00 I love it, it's cute and a great location. Looking forward to a nice bbq in the garden! I'm so relieved to find a nice place and not have to stay in one that my nan would like lol.

Sofasogood1 · 28/04/2022 08:11

@thislittlebird I can't see the pics! But it sounds lovely. We're just off to Cotswolds for two nights - found a pub/b&b with rooms in an area I like. Cheap ish and cheerful.

thislittlebird · 28/04/2022 08:27

@Sofasogood1 the cotswolds has some nice deals like that, we did one a few years ago and I bought the same deal for a friend’s birthday.

I have a headache today :/ this is the day my period should be due, and obviously hormonal migraines that start off as headaches are my main (often only) AF symptom. It’s a bit of a downer.
