@thislittlebird that villa is amazing! I have cyclogest too, can 100% understand why youd favour the bum!

I have everything still firmly crossed for you @sofasogood1 and @thislittlebird x x x

thislittlebird · 28/04/2022 09:29

@beckyCarlos oh you have Cyclogest too! Well, at you know you have an option if you develop problems the other way!

I’m really pleased we booked the holiday now, it’s a nice distraction for me in May/some of June and then we can get back to another FET. You sort of always hope you’ll be one of the luckier ones that it works for first time, but I know realistically my age means a few embryos might be duds, maybe all of them, and it can take a few goes anyway. If (feels more like when if I’m being honest) I get a negative I’ll be on a diet and fitness kick for a solid month, which is better than nothing to try and shift some weight. Just wish I had more time for all this ivf stuff, massive regrets I left it all so late really, I should have started sooner.

Tillybabs · 28/04/2022 09:43

@thislittlebird your villa looks amazing! I love that it overlooks the sunset 😍

I have to take cyclogest for 5 days and then wait for my period. Not sure why? No idea when AF will come either

Kay00 · 28/04/2022 10:44

Hi ladies. I have a bit of an issue.

I had all my meds delivered ready for my cycle to begin. I am due to start taking Norethisterone on CD21 (tomorrow). I have been merrily going through the meds and checking them against the schedule we discussed in my face to face nurse appointment at the clinic a couple of weeks ago...

but... there is a pack of drugs included in my delivery that was not discussed as part of the regime. Its Progynova, which appears to be a Estradiol tablet used primarily as a HRT, but maybe also for downregging?? I'm unsure.

I have called the clinic and asked them what I'm meant to do with these, and I am currently waiting for the nurse to call back.

Has anyone else used Progynova? And if so, how did it fit into your schedule?

thislittlebird · 28/04/2022 11:15

@Kay00 I think it might be the drug used for a FET. But I didn’t use it because I didn’t want any oestrogen and did a semi-natural cycle. So it’s probably that? Rather early because I would assume you’re doing a freeze all with your AMH.

@Tillybabs I can’t wait now! I don’t get this extra days of Cyclogest thing, seems pointless 🤨

thislittlebird · 28/04/2022 11:17

@Kay00 actually maybe that’s not used in a fresh transfer, and just FETs, which is why they’ve sent it because they know you’ll need a freeze all?

Sofasogood1 · 28/04/2022 11:21

@kay00 I'm on progynova. Three orally per day - morn noon night. Two vaginally - morn and night.

I started these on day 3 of my frozen cycle and 30 days later are still on them. I also have patches. They were originally given to help thicken my lining and I've continued taking them.

Kay00 · 28/04/2022 11:25

Thanks ladies. Hopefully its for a frozen cycle then... that would explain why it wasn't mentioned for the egg collection regime.

@thislittlebird They are actually expecting to do a fresh transfer... I know, I was surprised too, and I questioned them about it several times. I guess we are working towards a fresh, but I am keeping at the back of my mind that a freeze all is likely.

thislittlebird · 28/04/2022 11:40

@Kay00 this is such a peeve of mine how they push almost everyone for a fresh. I don’t get why they do this at all. My friend on another thread had 15 eggs collected and got a BFP and OHSS with it and ended up in hospital. She’s recovering now, but it frustrates me that some clinics are quite blasé, my own included who said their cut off for a freeze all is 20 eggs. Anyway, rant over, you’ll probably get a ton and they’ll change their minds!

Tillybabs · 28/04/2022 11:46

@Kay00 Provognya is what I just stopped taking, it was to thicken my lining after doing downreg of buserelin in prep for my FET. Obviously it didn't work for me and I've now stopped.

@Sofasogood1 interesting that you were also given patches. I will ask about this when I'm back in whenever that is!

Kay00 · 28/04/2022 12:05

Hi ladies, I just spoke with the clinic, and they said that it is to take between by Egg collection and fresh transfer (assuming I have one) alongside the cyclogest pressaries... so i guess its for thickening my lining, before a FT, and if I have a FET, then I'll get different meds/regime

Sofasogood1 · 28/04/2022 14:48

Thickening lining and supporting pregnancy overall I think @kay00

thislittlebird · 28/04/2022 17:38

@Kay00 Interesting, is your lining normally ok? Mine always seems quite thick and I wonder what would happen if I took these.

magnoliasinbloom · 28/04/2022 17:56

@thislittlebird that villa looks insane!! What an incredible holiday, you'll have the best time and hopefully it will just completely take your mind off everything :) I was very lucky to go Thailand over Christmas and NY and it mainly just felt really nice to have a buffer between rounds of fertility treatments...although of course crossing my fingers that it won't get to that for you.

I just wanted to share an update - I really don't want to upset anyone but hopefully this is a place to share positive post-fertility treatment updates too..I had my 12 week scan earlier today and baby looked healthy and was very wriggly which annoyed the doctor a lot haha. I think it's starting to sink in now that this might actually happen after having difficulty believing that things would go right, and we can start to tell a few people.

Kay00 · 28/04/2022 23:13

@magnoliasinbloom that's wonderful news 😊 thank you for sharing xx hopefully you can relax and enjoy the next six months xx

Sofasogood1 · 29/04/2022 07:43

@magnoliasinbloom Huge congrats, lovely news. Hope everything goes smoothly for you Flowers

Well it's 10dp5dt here and the day the doctor said I should have a reliable result and still bfn. I'll keep testing until Tuesday but I'm pretty over it and want to stop taking the drugs and doing the injections.

Right, a load of chores to do before I harass dp to stop work at lunchtime and we can go away for the weekend. Hope you all have a good long weekend. Will pop back soon x

beckyCarlos · 29/04/2022 08:00

@magnoliasinbloom that is amazing news!!! Congratulations! X x x
@sofasogood1 I'm so sorry love x x

thislittlebird · 29/04/2022 08:13

@magnoliasinbloom huge congrats, great news! I really wanted to go to Thailand tbh but I can’t because of the ongoing ivf (zika) but maybe one day!

@Sofasogood1 that really sucks and I totally know what you mean about the meds, I hope you enjoy your weekend away though.

Tillybabs · 29/04/2022 08:29

@magnoliasinbloom thanks for the update, how lovely 🥰 I'm glad all is going well for you x

@Sofasogood1im so sorry hun it sucks big time.

thislittlebird · 29/04/2022 09:48

This morning I’m driving myself potty over this not-a-migraine. I went from big downer when it started to now being obsessed with whether progesterone could keep it at bay?! It’s been a low-key headache off and on since yesterday, and I wish I knew what that meant! AF would be due today normally.

magnoliasinbloom · 29/04/2022 13:36

Thanks so much ladies :)

@Sofasogood1 I'm so sorry, I hope you have a lovely weekend away and it takes your mind off things a bit xx

@thislittlebird ah that's so annoying, it could mean anything! When can you test?

IVFKinster · 29/04/2022 15:00

Hi everyone, hoping it's okay to placemark!
We've been TTC for 3 years in July. I've recently been referred to the fertility clinic but have been advised itll

IVFKinster · 29/04/2022 15:02

🙄 hit send by accident ...
It'll be several months before we hear anything further. I've got PCOS and husband has male factor. Just thought I'd pop my name here for my journey ahead 😊
I'm curious to know what testing there's left to have and if I'll need a HSG/hycosy even though they know I have PCOS and we've got sperm problems. But I won't know until we get seen I guess!

Kay00 · 29/04/2022 16:39

@sofasogood1 sorry hun xx have a lovely weekend away xx you deserve it xx

@IVFKinster Welcome! I have PCOS too. I would imagine they will want to run any blood tests that you haven't already had (AMH etc) and they'll want to fo a HyCoSy to check on your ovaries, looks for cysts/polyps and to check your tubes aren't blocked. Do you have regular cycles? Once I was diagnosed with PCOS I was prescribed Metformin and shortly after six month of Clomid.

IVFKinster · 29/04/2022 17:22

Thanks @Kay00 I've had some blood tests but haven't had one for AMH. I guess I can't see the point in a HSG if the sperm we have is sad? Low count low motility and low morphology. Most of them are non progressive or non motile. So to me I think what difference does it make it if I ovulate or my tubes are open if we are probably going to end up with IVF/ICSI anyway? 🤔 My GP won't prescribe Metformin! I wonder if the clinic will? I seem to ovulate regularly irregularly. I.e. I always ovulate but it's usually between CD20 and CD35 😁 my body gets there eventually, when it feels like it. I wish the GP knew more but after the referral they sort of had to shrug.
