@OCM19 I think I'd get stressed waiting for a smiley face too! Still in the 'enjoy the process' stage but who knows in a few more months I might get more strategic with ovulation tests

Cheekypeach · 01/03/2022 12:12

Hi all! Have I missed any BFPs in the last week or so?!

I’m now CD3, period arrived dead on time so I’m set for O-day on the weekend of 12th/13th. I will start the OPKs around cycle day 6 or 7 I think. Good luck this month ladies 🤞🏻

Duckandsarah · 01/03/2022 12:14

Hey everyone, hope it’s all going well for those trying!

I use Femometer to track as it has an auto opk recognition feature which I like and have always used (I use cheap opks as I think clear blue are extortionate 😂). I’ve started my month of temping now just to confirm I ovulate when I think I do. So far temps are low (in the 35s) so will see how we go with that or whether it’s flagging a potential issue.

@FourOclock I wouldn’t have that restraint either 😂 I tested at 10dpo last time as I couldn’t wait!!

FourOclock · 01/03/2022 12:18

I'm 10dpo today!! 🙈 But have no tests so going to try and be patient. If this month isn't our month I think I will get some ovulation sticks for next month, with DH away at the vital time it would be good to know if we might just about manage to fit in trying.

Duckandsarah · 01/03/2022 13:03

@FourOclock great willpower haha

NarnieJoy · 01/03/2022 15:49

@Duckandsarah my Temps at the beginning of my cycle are always in the 35’s but when I ov they shoot to near 36.8-37 so I am pretty confident I ov! So you’ll know if it’s happening

Duckandsarah · 01/03/2022 18:58

@NarnieJoy it’s good to know it’s the same for you, reassuring!
Ifor me, it’s because if it’s below 36 consistently it might indicate your metabolism is slow for a variety of reasons but also might be thyroid related. I am always cold too so I’m just going to monitor it and see. My temps weren’t this cold before I conceived my first so this is new for me. 😕

PinkButtercups · 01/03/2022 23:21

I might try testing ovulation this month. I'm pretty certain the day it is at its peak because I always have pain that day.
And first or second day of ovulation cycle I always spot.

Even though it will only be 2nd cycle round for baby #2. It feels a lot more stressful!

I fell pregnant with my DS first try and didn't even test until I missed my period.

This time I just feel really impatient Hmm

FourOclock · 02/03/2022 06:25

DH (tentatively) mentioned this morning that maybe I might be pregnant as I'm a lot more snappy than usual 😂 I said I think it's PMT along with the general limbo of the TWW. But the kids are off for a sleepover at their grandparents tonight so I'm wondering whether I might grab a first response to take in the morning when we will have time to celebrate/commiserate just the two of us. Thursday is 3 days before period is due so hopefully would work? 12dpo I think.

I'm still getting dull aches down there which I wouldn't normally get until my period was about to start, or had already started. But I normally get spotting a good few days before that so this could be a good sign as there's been no spotting so far 🤞🏼

Tropicana1 · 02/03/2022 08:06

@FourOclock I wound definitely test in that case! But then I think you've had so much restraint not to already 🤣

@PinkButtercups last time when we were TTC number 1 I was shocked by how relatively late I ovulated when I was testing on opks - nearly a week later than my app predicted based on my cycle length (I have a relatively short luteal phase, or at least I did then)

DanceWithYourBalloon · 02/03/2022 09:36

@FourOclock Ooo sounds promising! Have everything crossed for you 🤞🏻

DP wouldn't notice if I was more snappy, I'm just snappy sometimes 🤣.

I think I'm going to do it!
It's better to be sure I suppose isn't it!

Honestly this time round seems more intense!

FourOclock · 02/03/2022 11:33

I have been exceptionally snappy in fairness 😂🥴

alwaysseeingstars · 02/03/2022 14:40

Hey, mind if I join? :) I'm 33, TTC#1 Cycle 1 really.. I had the Mirena removed 6 weeks ago, had AF 19/02. I've never had a regular cycle and didn't get AF at all with the coil - odd feeling going back to it! So realistically I have no idea when (or if) I ovulate, but started using Clearblue ovulation tests (recommended by Dr to get an idea what's going on, I had no idea there were much cheaper options haha!) and the past 3 days I've had the flashing smiley...
Reading through this thread though it seems that can go on for a while?! I've just downloaded the Flo app, does anyone use/recommend this or any others?
@FourOclock that's exciting, fingers crossed for you!
Best of luck to everyone Smile

LucyLoopyLu · 02/03/2022 17:55

Hi @alwaysseeingstars
I'm 33 and TTC number 1 as well, from later on in the month.

Finally managed to get another appointment to get my coil removed (25th) although I'm going to have to drive to a family planning clinic an hour away (other side of the county 🤣).
I have been trying to get an appointment with my GP since 1st week in Feb, and so far have only managed to book a telephone consultation on 15th March... so looks like I will be cancelling that out and just putting up with the travel.

Who'd have thought it would be this difficult and take this long to get a coil removed eh.
Luckily it is a copper so I already know my cycle.

OCM19 · 02/03/2022 20:07

@FourOclock how exciting, how are you feeling? Welcome @alwaysseeingstars, hopefully your cycles will start to regulate over the next few months (or better still, you get a BFP).

@LucyLoopyLu good luck, as you say at least you're familiar with your cycles. Would you recommend the coil? I don't want to go back on the pill after, if we are lucky to conceive.

This cycle is certainly an odd feeling. I googled some forums for the CB digital tests and a lot of people keep getting smiley faces if they missed the LH surge, as the tests wouldn't have picked it up. So I've either missed my ovulation and am in the TWW or I haven't had it yet. Either way, I don't feel half as anxious this time around as I am not 'waiting' for signs or waiting to test. I will just see what happens at the end of next week when AF is supposed to be due (on a regular cycle length) and see.

I will definitely use cheaper OPK's next month so I can test twice daily.

How is everyone else doing?

Vasectomyreversalhopeful · 02/03/2022 20:52

Sorry I have been AWOL, my phone broke. How is everyone? So exciting to have people trying, fingers crossed for our first BFP soon!

6 weeks and 1 day left now until the reversal, it is going really quickly.

OCM19 · 02/03/2022 21:22

@Vasectomyreversalhopeful that’s great news - about the reversal not the broken phone! That time will fly by x

WingingIt09 · 02/03/2022 21:47

Welcome @alwaysseeingstars good luck TTC.

@FourOclock that's exciting. I'd definitely be testing tomorrow (but you have more willpower than me as I'd have been testing from 9/10dpo 🙊) hopefully our first BFP of the group tomorrow!!!

LucyLoopyLu · 02/03/2022 22:31

@ocm19 Yes I would recommend it. I was on the combined pill for years and preferred that as my skin was better (although I thought it was bad at the time). Unfortunately due to headaches I got put on the mini pill. Skin got worse so I looked for a hormone free alternative - hence copper coil. Unfortunately my skin is now horrendous and worse than ever so it wasn't the mini pill really. Have had copper coil for 4 years, skin gradually getting worse all the time, and the past year my skin has been really bad. I went to a dermatologist privately (expensive) and she said basically only fix is roaccutane which will have to wait until after baby(/ies).

I didn't find the fitting too bad and it's great to not have any contraception to worry about as I literally forget about it apart from checking the strings so I know it's still in the right place. My periods can be pretty heavy though (more so than pre pill from memory) so if you're worried about that you could go Mirena. I might do that next time - I didn't have a period on the mini pill so suspect it may be the same on Mirena, and I know it's not the hormones making my skin bad now.

Sorry that was a bit of an essay!

LucyLoopyLu · 02/03/2022 22:32

@Fouroclock good luck for testing!

Brightonbelle87 · 02/03/2022 23:45

Good luck @FourOclock!

@lucyloopylou sorry to hear your skin is bad. I've had cystic acne for going on 20 years. My cheeks are like craters! Wouldn't wish it on anyone. Tbh the best thing for me was accepting my awful skin, finding good make up (Estee lauder) and skincare to help soothe redness. Korres cleansers and simple nivea moisturiser are really light and gentle. My gp said my skin may even improve with pregnancy (?!) But bad skin really sucks so sending lots of good wishes your way!

FourOclock · 03/03/2022 05:38

My skin massively improved with pregnancy, it was awful for about 10 years prior and since my first pregnancy it's been relatively clear! I hope the same happens for you brighten and Lucy 🤞🏼

FourOclock · 03/03/2022 05:55

I have taken two ultra early clear blue tests (couldn't find any FR in the shop) and both came back with an error 🤦🏼‍♀️ have ordered some FRers from Amazon 🙈
