CD18 of month 2 here. Have some spotting which is exactly what I had last pregnancy. I'm pretty hopeful for this cycle. 🤞🏻

FourOclock · 02/04/2022 16:50

Good luck @DanceWithYourBalloon!

Yeah still feeling pretty rough @TheOnlyException1, thankfully having lots of help with the kids and spending a lot of time laying down

WingingIt09 · 02/04/2022 17:18

Good luck @DanceWithYourBalloon

@TrillianMurphy welcome :)

@TheOnlyException1 glad you're able to take some time doing things that will help. When's your due date - realised I don't have it on the list!

@FourOclock glad you've got help with the kids to allow you to rest.

@WingingIt09 thank you for the welcome Smile

Not sure how much to share. I don't want to hang on about myself too much Grin

I've got 1 DS. He was conceived after 6 months of trying.
I'm waiting 3 months before TTC because I want to improve my diet

TrillianMurphy · 02/04/2022 18:09

*bang on about myself too much

I posted too soon. I want to improve my diet, exercise more, start taking vitamins and also have a clear out before I get pregnant again.

Nypie · 02/04/2022 18:42

@TheOnlyException1 no worries I hope it helped! I have a history of depression and anxiety so I know how crap it can feel and I know it will pop up in high stress situations. But I don't believe we're defect just sensitive and there's nothing wrong with that. Some of the strongest people I know are exactly the same. You be good to yourself and if you need anything you know were to find me!

@TrillianMurphy Hey 👋👋 also want to work on my diet and exercise! And heard folic acid was good to take 3 months before

Dreamingof3 · 02/04/2022 20:30

Having some serious doubts today. With the cost of everything going up so much, can we really afford a third? I sometimes feel mine don't get enough as it is (silly as they have everything they need!)
OH is due a promotion later thus year but of course nothing is ever certain. And if he does get it the extra money will essentially all be eaten up by costs anyway. We wanted to move too but that's another expense. We have enough room where we are but the house and the area aren't what we want long term 😮‍💨 34 in a couple of weeks so not keen on waiting too long to try anyway. Don't know what to do...

Dreamingof3 · 02/04/2022 20:31

Just to add I currently don't work as it didn't work out financially beneficial which childcare. If we wait I could go back k part time as my youngest gets 30 hours from September...then we'd be a bit better off but would I then want to go on maternity 🤣

TheOnlyException1 · 02/04/2022 22:37

@DanceWithYourBalloon good luck🤞

@FourOclock glad you've got lots of help, hopefully your symptoms settle/ease up a bit soon!

@WingingIt09 Thanks! I believe I'm due 6th Dec 😁 Oh and I'm 29 if you wanted to add that in ☺️

@TrillianMurphy welcome 👋 and good luck with your goals ☺️

@Nypie thank you, I really appreciate that ♥️

@Dreamingof3 I totally get that, general living costs are getting so expensive now, but if having a third is what feels right for your family, and you think you will be able to make ends meet, even if it's a bit tight, I personally think you might regret finances being the reason not to try.. maybe that's overly sentimental though! I just remember being a kid and getting everything second hand and not having abroad holidays, and honestly it never bothered me, or even occured to me to expect anything different, I was super happy and grateful! It was only as I got to be an adult I realised my parents were operating on a pretty tight budget when I was young. I don't know if that helps at all though!

TheOnlyException1 · 02/04/2022 22:39

Apparently the grin emoji on my phone looks more like a grimace on here - that was supposed to be a big smile after my due date - like this!! Grin

WingingIt09 · 02/04/2022 22:44

@Dreamingof3 those are all very similar points that DH and I have gone over a million times.. in the end we concluded that we would regret not having a third and that we would rather stay in our current house (which just about has enough space but not what we want really) and have money a bit tighter for the first 3 years by reintroducing nursery fees again (DD2 gets her free hours in Jan 2023) than stop at 2 or wait for longer. It's a hard decision though as head conflicts with heart! Head says 2 is more comfortable for financial reasons and we can give the kids more, but my heart 100% tells me I'm just not done having kids yet and that there will always be someone missing if we stop at 2.

Hello everyone!

I’m new here. I’ll start TTC later this month. I’m 30 years old. It would be my first - and only - baby. My partner is 40 this year.

I came off the pill at the end of February after starting with folic acid/upping my exercise since Christmas.

I just got my first ‘real’ period today, 28 days after my last ‘pill period’, so I’m really happy my body seems to remember what to do after 13 years on the pill!

I also tried some ovulation strips last month and 10 days after I finished my pill pack they seemed to show that I was ovulating, which came as a big surprise.

I’d love a spring (March-May) baby next year. Fingers crossed!

Carlswhite29x · 03/04/2022 07:37

Hello everyone! Hope you don't mind if I join. I'm 29 and currently cycle 3 TTC. I got my coil removed in January and was wondering if anyone else had a settling period for their periods? I had what I would consider regular periods all the time I had my coil in (I didn't track them so i don't know how regular but they happened frequently and I never missed one.) But it seems since tracking my periods they are a bit all over the place. My first cycle was 26 days and my second 35 (prompting me to think I was a week late and take two pregnancy tests). I've read online that some women have had irregular periods for a few months after the coils removal but they all specified that they had no periods while they had the coil Confused

Anyway, I've got myself some ovulation tests to help with the tracking, for an eye watering £20 but I really cannot be using them every month at that price.

Enough rambling from me, I wish everyone the best of luck TTC and I cannot wait to hear all about it Smile

Dreamingof3 · 03/04/2022 07:58

@TheOnlyException1 @WingingIt09 you're both completely right, I'd regret not having another. I know I would, I think I just worry that its selfish?

Essentially my oh said he doesn't mind waiting, but he's younger than me 😅 and understands that I worry that we'll struggle to conceive at all if we wait (no reason for this other than I'll be 35 next year!)

I remember not having all the things my friends had when I was young. Days out were rare and we were all a but squeezed in the house...but we were happy and I never knew that my parents didn't have much money.

Dreamingof3 · 03/04/2022 08:02

Welcome @Carlswhite29x @TonkaBean22

If I can get over my wobble I'm also hoping for a spring baby 😃

WingingIt09 · 03/04/2022 13:22

@Dreamingof3 honestly everything you are saying I could be saying myself. I don't think there is a 'right' answer. I have more doubts this time round, but I'm following my heart and TTC #3 and think it'll all work out in the end. Are you still starting this month?

Welcome @Carlswhite29x and @TonkaBean22 good luck on your TTC journey.

How is everyone currently trying (too many of you to tag)... anyone testing soon?

How about those starting in April @tryingtryinggone @LucyLoopyLu @PrettyPolly92 @Tropicana1 - how are you all feeling now April has come around?

Carlswhite29x · 03/04/2022 13:37

Thank you for the welcome guys! Excited to be joining everyone here on their TTC journey Smile

I'm entering my fertile window according to one of the two apps I use but haven't used a ovulation test yet, will likely test on tuesday as apps are saying I should be ovulating on 8th or 9th so might be a bit early but still DTD anyway. Of course, I ovulated late last cycle so who knows lol! That's what the ovulation tests are for I suppose!

I'm so excited to start again this cycle though! I'm constantly looking at forums and looking at the science behind conception to try to help me understand the process better. TTC is definitely very exciting but also not for the faint hearted lol.

If you don't mind me asking, how long has everyone been TTC? Have you managed to stay relaxed about it?

This is my 3rd cycle trying and I was pretty relaxed with the first cycle but as I was a week late for my second cycle I was a literal nightmare haha. It doesn't help that my little cat has gone missing about two weeks ago so it felt like the week from hell when I had a negative test result, a missing cat and some bad news at work that would affect my finances.

Hopefully I can be more relaxed this cycle if it doesn't happen.

tryingtryinggone · 03/04/2022 14:35

@Dreamingof3 I also wonder whether I’m being selfish by wanting a second now. We’re only in a 2 bedroom house. We love the area we live in but the house is too small for long term so I’m hoping we’ll move eventually but I think they’d end up sharing a room for a little while at least. It just feels right in my heart now so I think I’ll just ignore the logical part of my brain that says to wait until we can afford a bigger house 🙈

@WingingIt09 I’m feeling quite excited! I’ve decided that for the first couple/few months we’ll not try but not prevent. I’m not going to do OPKs and will try not to obsess too much about it all but we’ll see how that goes and how long it lasts 😂 if I was successful this month it would be a 1st Jan due date which I don’t think is great but we’ll see! Not expecting to be so lucky straight away anyway!

We did the sperm meets egg plan the first time. Is anyone here doing it?

Dreamingof3 · 03/04/2022 14:39

@WingingIt09 it might be this month or could be may...currently due on and then next period would fall right as we go away. So not sure whether to try next cycle and potentially find out on holiday, or wait til the one after. But then it starts getting a bit close to our trip in September 🙈 don't know what to do

lj2022 · 03/04/2022 14:41

@WingingIt09 I'm not close to testing but about to go into the TWW. Making lots of plans and coffee dates with friends to keep me busy after work and thankfully have 2 busy weeks at work ahead. How are you getting on?

Also quick question does anyone experience ovulation symptoms ? I've felt a little nauseous today and also diarrhoea and stomach cramps that don't feel like period pain however could be related to the diarrhoea. Just wondering if anyone experiences ovulation pain or cramps or other symptoms ?

Dreamingof3 · 03/04/2022 14:57

@tryingtryinggone were in a 3 bed now and the girls share because they asked to 😅 so we already have the room. It's mostly the area I'm not keen on but I guess we could move any time if we were a bit better off. Also, completely unnecessarily I'd love a play room so all the kids toys weren't in the lounge 🙊 that'll have to wait!

FourOclock · 03/04/2022 15:11

We had a two bed when we decided to try for number two, and then we extended to make it a three bed and now pregnant with number three Grin the boys share at the moment though (although youngest shares with us more currently 😂)

Hoping we can move in a few years but the house is a good enough size for now

Nypie · 03/04/2022 19:06

@lj2022 I used to have awful ovulation pain when I came of the pill worst them my periods I'd get back ache, sore boobs and pain in my abdomen. Probably for the first 4 cycles the last 3 nothing apart from cm changes and temp rising. The body is so strange.

hopingforanothermiracle2022 · 03/04/2022 19:34

Hi All,

Hope it's okay for me to pop in and join this thread.

I'm 33 with an almost 10 month old son. My partner and I are getting married in May and will be starting to try for baby number 2 (I'll be ovulating whilst on honeymoon 🎉)

I'm both excited and terrified to be on the TTC journey again after a miscarriage in 2020 and difficult pregnancy and delivery with DS.

Looking forward to sharing this crazy journey with you.

LucyLoopyLu · 03/04/2022 19:39

@WingingIt09 I am feeling a bit weird about it all now! I desperately want a baby but I wish I could skip TTC and pregnancy. There are a few things that I am dreading - I'm not good with doctors and have quite a bad needle phobia. Also me and my OH have a pretty sporadic sex life so I am worried about how to approach that / how to talk to him about timing DTD etc is quite stressful. I assume we're not the only couple with that issue but feel like no one ever seems to mention it!
I am also anxious because I'm 34 in October and worried it will take us a long time to conceive... basically I'm a worrier!

@TheOnlyException1 hope you're OK, I think a lot of people find this an anxious time so definitely try not to beat yourself up about it 💛 I hope you are taking it easy
