@TheOnlyException1 massive congratulations! Great news.
I can’t offer any first hand experience, I’m afraid. But I’m sure spotting is normal.

lj2022 · 29/03/2022 21:43

@TheOnlyException1 amazing news! Over the moon for you. I think spotting is normal but I've never done this TTC thing before so not 100% sure. Massive congratulations

Beautyangel1 · 29/03/2022 21:43

Does anyone how long sperm survive? I've been reading and it says 5 days just want to know if this is true? I dtd the night before (6 hours before) I got my peak on the clear level ovulation test. My partner has been away so we never got to dtd during my peak days.
Do you think there could still be a possibility of conceiving.
I had a erpc for a missed miscarriage in February and my periods seem like they have returned back to normal.

Nyxxie · 29/03/2022 21:55

@TheOnlyException1 eeeek how exciting, huge congratulations! I'm no expert but I believe some light bleeding is totally normal and those are great strong lines!

TheOnlyException1 · 29/03/2022 22:14

@dearhummingbirds @lj2022 @Nyxxie thank you! I'm not sure it quite feels real yet! I'm going to go get a digital one to further confirm tomorrow ☺️

@Beautyangel1 I think a couple of people replied on the previous page, but I believe it's recommended to DTD the day before the egg is released so that the sperm are ready and waiting, so I think you should be all good and covered, if you DTD the night before. Sorry to hear about Feb x

WingingIt09 · 29/03/2022 22:31

@TheOnlyException1 eek how exciting! Congratulations!! Xx

@TheOnlyException1 Congratulations, fantastic news!

FourOclock · 30/03/2022 05:39

@TheOnlyException1 congratulations!! So exciting!

Vasectomyreversalhopeful · 30/03/2022 06:49

Congrats exception!

I am starting one final weight loss drive, 6 weeks until TTC.

hevann · 30/03/2022 07:37

@TheOnlyException1 Congratulations! Amazing news. They are very good strong lines! xx

alwaysseeingstars · 30/03/2022 08:41

@TheOnlyException1 congratulations!! So exciting Grin

@Beautyangel1 they can live up to 5 days (the nurse removing my coil actually said sometimes male sperm can live up to 7 days?!) but the day or two before ovulation is best, I got pregnant by DTD the day of my peak v early morning - so not dissimilar to your timing.

@Nypie ooh that's interesting, I was wondering whether to give the OPK's a miss this month but think I'll go for it if you can be ultra fertile!

@dearhummingbirds ah boys & their toys indeed, my DH can't wait to get the digger in the garden to start some excavation!

@Vasectomyreversalhopeful good luck, what's your plan? Can be so hard to shift weight sometimes!!

Duckandsarah · 30/03/2022 08:59

@TheOnlyException1 huge congratulations!

@Beautyangel1 your timing for that is near perfect, if your peak was only 6 hours later!
Sperm can live up to 7 days but it is also dependent on the amount and quality of your CM. CM is the “leg up” into the womb so this isn’t present then it is going to be harder for the sperm.

Amber17 · 30/03/2022 09:51

@TheOnlyException1 Congrats!!

Vasectomyreversalhopeful · 30/03/2022 09:54

Going to log everything on My Fitness Pal stars

OCM19 · 30/03/2022 10:22

@alwaysseeingstars I’m sorry to read about your early miscarriage, I hope you’re taking time to rest ❤️

@TheOnlyException1 a huge congratulations, so happy for you ! X

tryingtryinggone · 30/03/2022 11:37

Congratulations @TheOnlyException1!

@Duckandsarah I’m day 4 of my period today and also now getting cold feet for ttc! 😂 my DD is a lovely age but she’s also hard work so I keep thinking the bigger gap as possible is better haha I’m sure you’ve said but how old is your DD?

Duckandsarah · 30/03/2022 12:49

@tryingtryinggone my dd is 1.5years now, time has flown!
It’s a great age but yes quite labour intensive. 😂 Glad I’m not the only one re-thinking haha
I know I want another but I just can’t imagine having 2 under 3, it’s a funny age to be thinking of ttc as it doesn’t feel like 5 mins ago I was pregnant the first time round!

If I remember rightly your dd is similar in age? And you had a similar birth experience to me as well!

TheOnlyException1 · 30/03/2022 13:52

Thank you all so much! ☺️ I know this is crazy, and I'm trying to distract myself with work, but I keep thinking I want to take another test to make sure I'm still pregnant 😂 I'm sure I'll settle into it in time! Anyone got any tips to deal with nausea? I could barely manage 3 bites of breakfast today, without feeling like I was going to be sick 😅

FourOclock · 30/03/2022 14:24

Remind me, is this your first @TheOnlyException1? The nausea...ugh...! I wish I had tips haha. Try and eat little and often. Mints can help, ginger is supposed to too but I hate ginger so... Grin I try and eat a plain biscuit or plain toast before I get up in the morning which sort of helps

Duckandsarah · 30/03/2022 14:43

@TheOnlyException1 salt and vinegar crisps were the only thing I could stomach for 12 weeks 😂

Nypie · 30/03/2022 14:48

@dearhummingbirds oh how exciting we can be TTC buddies! We'll be trying mid September as we're going to a zika country in june :/ and god help us with maternity as I'm covering someones maternity leave!

@TheOnlyException1 look how dark the tests are that's amazing! Congrats to you. Fresh ginger tea always works for me.

Anyone else trying in August, September, October time? I'm feeling quite zen about the wait lots of plans for the summer!

FourOclock · 30/03/2022 14:51
@TheOnlyException1 salt and vinegar crisps were the only thing I could stomach for 12 weeks 😂
I was like this with my first! That and sucking lemons. My tongue was like sandpaper for the entire first trimester 😂

rosecbrm · 30/03/2022 15:03

Congratulations @TheOnlyException1 ! How exciting!

Also thanks to the others who left comments below about my post a few days ago, really made me feel better! Glad I posted on here now.

Yes @Nypie I think we will be potentially trying around mid September too. I didn't realise until today but we are too travelling to a Zika country in June (I only thought to check after reading your post)! So that's made me definitely want to wait until September - before I wasn't sure but now I know it's the right thing and feel better about waiting!

dearhummingbirds · 30/03/2022 15:54

@Nypie Grin Ah, amazing. Somewhere in South / Central America or Asia? We are considering doing a longer haul holiday in September, so hopefully if we’re TTC, I won’t have terrible symptoms if we do get a BFP. Just don’t want to put life on hold.

Hopefully by the time you’d be due you won’t need to cover for maternity anymore? So you won’t be leaving them in a sticky position? Not that it’s your problem!

TheOnlyException1 · 30/03/2022 20:27

@FourOclock Yup it's my first, thanks for the tips, just sent DH out to the shop for ginger tea, mints and digestives in preparation for tomorrow morning!!

@Duckandsarah interesting, so far I seem to have developed a bit of an obsession with cheese strings.. I haven't had them since I was a kid, and suddenly it's all I want 😂
