If anyone wants an interesting watch then this documentary is pretty cool. It follows a baby from egg to birth.

BlueberryMacaron · 05/03/2022 15:16

@Worryant I can see a line, and I’m normally the only one who can’t. Cautious congratulations from me!

@NarnieJoy I also worry a huge amount about an instrumental delivery. I was a very small baby, but DH was bigger (and he was early because he was breech). I’m seriously considering a maternal request c section if and when the time comes.

PinkButtercups · 05/03/2022 16:20
@PinkButtercups I use a party cup but don’t Chuck it out lol just rinse it out! DH knows not to use it and it’s kept in the bathroom 😆
I have to Chuck mine out lol! I have a 2.5 year old who likes to take trips to the bathroom and he'd definitely try and use it!

WingingIt09 · 05/03/2022 16:31

@FourOclock hope you don't end up feeling too rough! I felt sick with both of mine from before I got my positive test. Nausea is generally my first symptom 🙈

@Worryant that looks promising - I can definitely see a line! Fingers crossed for you

@NarnieJoy both of my girls were fairly big (and I'm only 5ft 3) DD1 9lb on her due date and DD2 smaller at 8lb 13 at 42 weeks. I had a natural delivery with both of them no forceps etc.

Quick update for you all! X
Oh my goodness!! Yay!
FourOclock · 05/03/2022 17:48

When is AF due @Worryant?!

WingingIt09 · 05/03/2022 17:48

Congratulations @Worryant! Nothing like seeing it in writing!

Worryant · 05/03/2022 17:55

Thank you all! Still early days but allowing myself to be cautiously excited. Tough call on AF @FourOclock - according to my period tracker app it’s due today but that also had my ovulation at CD14. I know from opk it was more like CD18 so from that it would predict AF arriving more like Wednesday this week.

hevann · 05/03/2022 18:03

Congratulations @Worryant fabulous news 👶🏻🍼🥳 x

Nyxxie · 05/03/2022 18:22

Congratulations @Worryant ☺️

Duckandsarah · 05/03/2022 18:37

Congrats @Worryant !

@DanceWithYourBalloon I love that documentary- love how the crop tops and low rise jeans really date it though haha

I’ve now started folic acid which makes it feel a bit more real that we will be trying soon…

TheOnlyException1 · 05/03/2022 18:38

@Worryant Very exciting, congrats! 🎉

@DanceWithYourBalloon that video looks really interesting, thanks for the link!

@NarnieJoy I totally feel you there, I've always felt really anxious about the idea of not getting pregnant when I start trying.. I think it's probably a pretty normal worry!

NarnieJoy · 05/03/2022 18:42

@Worryant 😍😍😍 we LOVE to see that !!

LucyLoopyLu · 05/03/2022 19:20

@worryant congrats! Excited for you x
Love seeing the positives. Hopefully this is a lucky thread for us all!

OCM19 · 05/03/2022 19:26

Ahhh that’s such amazing news @Worryant congratulations! How are you feeling?

I’ve been feeling different and having different symptoms to the last cycle, but DH just tested positive for Covid so perhaps I may have Covid but just not showing on the tests yet. Who knows!

WingingIt09 · 05/03/2022 19:28

@NarnieJoy

Thanks everyone for your replies! I think birth although fascinating seems so variable. Just don’t know where to go for a realistic picture of birth, probably won’t know until I’m there in the room.

But then I get terrified that I won’t get pregnant and my fears are some irrational link!

Forgot to reply to this earlier. I highly recommend the positive birth company online hypnobirthing course when you are pregnant. I was dubious when I signed up to it with my second but it was honestly a brilliant course, gave scientific explanations about birth as well which I found really informative and helpful in understanding everything and helping me feel more prepared and ready for anything birth threw at me with me second. I felt so out of control with my first birth and thanks to the tools I had from the birthing course, my birth with my second was amazing! They have a trying to conceive course now too but not done it so no idea what that's like.

TheOnlyException1 · 05/03/2022 20:26

@WingingIt09 Oh I think my friend did that course as well for her first, she said it really helped! Might check it out down the line a bit!

DanceWithYourBalloon · 05/03/2022 20:33

@OCM19
Pesky Covid.
My husband tested positive at the start of my cycle then I tested positive about 6 days ago.
I'm struggling with fatigue and really don't know if it's a symptom or Covid! 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

Tropicana1 · 05/03/2022 20:34

@Worryant congratulations!! Lovely to see it in writing I bet.

I had mixed feelings about the positive birth company course - I felt like it gave me this somewhat unrealistic idea / expectation of labour and birth which did not transpire for me! But on the other hand it hugely gave me the confidence to advocate for myself when things took a turn so that bit was good, but for a while I felt like I had "failed" because I hadn't had this amazing positive lovely experience. The postpartum pack and especially the postpartum provate Facebook group was so valuable - my main source of info for newborn baby worries!

WingingIt09 · 05/03/2022 20:48

@Tropicana1 I'm sorry you felt you had failed, absolutely not the case regardless of what your particular birth experience was and I hope you don't still feel like that now ❤️ our babies and bodies definitely have minds of their own when it comes to birth. Im glad you felt it helped you advocate for yourself though - that was one of the best bits I got from it too, the knowledge really helped me feel empowered to be my own advocate and for my DH to advocate for me too! I did have the postpartum course too and barely got halfway through it 🙈🙈 just no time with a toddler and a newborn

OP posts:
Worryant · 05/03/2022 21:44

Feeling ok thanks @OCM19 - tired but always am with toddler and work etc! No symptoms really, after being so sick first time round I am happy for that to stay away as long as poss! Fingers crossed for you, when can you test? Annoying covid, hope you only get two lines on your pregnancy test!

@Tropicana1 thank you! Also had a similar experience to you with positive birth company, I had quite high expectations as I was a very diligent student with affirmations etc! But when it came to it, the experience I had just wasn’t what I’d been expecting. Agree with the advocating part though. But I was sad to miss out on the positive experiences I’d watched and read. But once baby is here it sort of stops mattering how they made it into the world!

Vasectomyreversalhopeful · 06/03/2022 07:38

Congratulations worryant!

OCM19 · 06/03/2022 08:37

Morning all, I caved and took a FRER test this morning, a BFN so will just try and wait until Thursday when af is due. I think I’m out this month.
