@PinkButtercups I use a party cup but don’t Chuck it out lol just rinse it out! DH knows not to use it and it’s kept in the bathroom 😆

FourOclock · 05/03/2022 09:33

I'm feeling quite rough already 😬 starting to worry how I'm going to cope with the kids if I'm already starting to feel crap

DanceWithYourBalloon · 05/03/2022 09:52

@HeathenPlayingHouse I hate taking the vitamins. Why do the always have that weird musty taste too? 🤢

@FourOclock Hope you don't get sickness too bad. I only felt a bit off in my first pregnancy but I had dreadful sickness in my second. The Dr had to prescribe cyclyzine (?) but they made me dreadfully tired.

TheOnlyException1 · 05/03/2022 09:57

@FourOclock sorry to hear you're having a rough start, how was it it your other pregnancies?

@HeathenPlayingHouse that sounds uncomfortable 😅 I've just started with the seven seas pre conception tablets, and they're absolutely tiny.. hoping they have everything I need I'm them!

FourOclock · 05/03/2022 10:03

First pregnancy was pretty rough, sickness all the way through pretty much but didn't really start till about 6 weeks I think. Second pregnancy was easier, I took cyclizine from 6 ish weeks but it made me feel so dizzy I had to stop taking it after a few weeks, but I had no sickness after that, just general nausea and tiredness (but had a young baby at the time which probably added to the tiredness!)

I haven't felt unwell at this stage with either, but have been feeling nauseous on and off all week 😬 hope it's not twins 😂

HeathenPlayingHouse · 05/03/2022 10:12

@DanceWithYourBalloon @TheOnlyException1

It serves me right for picking the cheapest option, especially when all the reviews talked about how big they are haha! It's only a 45 day supply, so I'll probably switch to what I've taken before since I know I can swallow it Grin

Worryant · 05/03/2022 10:35

Really sorry @FourOclock - I had hyperemesis gravidarum with my first and it was not fun. Hopefully you start to feel a bit better….keep us updated if you do find out there’s two cooking in there 😬😃!

Also popping up to say very very quietly at 9dpo…..I might be seeing a faint line on a FRER. Will update you again in a few days….

TheOnlyException1 · 05/03/2022 10:38

@FourOclock That sounds pretty tough! Hopefully it comes and goes pretty quickly for you this time around!
@HeathenPlayingHouse I might have to go online to get another batch after this - I just picked up a 28 pack from the supermarket and they were pretty pricey!
@Worryant that's sounds very exciting, good luck, keeping my fingers crossed for you!

On a general note, I feel like I am totally uninformed going into this whole thing, and I honestly have no idea what to expect from pregnancy.. it's a bit overwhelming! 😅 Did you guys find any good books/podcasts/YouTubers or anything that helped when ttc for the first time?

NarnieJoy · 05/03/2022 10:46

@Worryant post a picture so we can all squint together!! Fingers crossed 🤞🤞🤞🤞

FourOclock · 05/03/2022 10:47

Oh @Worryant that sounds very exciting! Have you got a pic?

Only I feel like I learnt everything TTC related from mumsnet! Once I was pregnant my tracking app (Flo) gave nice weekly updates on what baby looked like/how it was growing which was nice to read

Worryant · 05/03/2022 10:50

Haha squint time incoming!

DanceWithYourBalloon · 05/03/2022 10:50

@Worryant very exciting! 🤞🏻
I'm 8dpo and resisting the urge to test! I might do one tomorrow though

NarnieJoy · 05/03/2022 10:51

@Worryant also totally respect if you don’t want to. Sorry I just got excited 😆

Worryant · 05/03/2022 10:52

Oh. Pic won’t post.

NarnieJoy · 05/03/2022 10:52

@Worryant it’s posted! I can deffo see a line 🙌🏻🙌🏻

DanceWithYourBalloon · 05/03/2022 10:54

@Worryant thats not even a squinter, its a proper line! 🤩

NarnieJoy · 05/03/2022 10:58

I’m just watching one born, (this gal is obsessed with birth 🤔) and was wondering if there was any way to avoid having a really big baby that’s difficult to birth? Might be a super silly question! But I’m terrified of forceps… is it just genetics? Both me and DH we 6lbs babies

TheOnlyException1 · 05/03/2022 11:33

@FourOclock that's good to know, I'll stick around and learn from you experts! I've started using Flo last month, that sounds really helpful!

@Worryant Looks very encouraging! Fingers crossed!

FourOclock · 05/03/2022 11:52

@Worryant that looks very very promising indeed! Yay!

Narnie it is just genetics I think. I needed ventouse with DS1 who was teeny tiny, I think generally there's not a lot you can do to change how you birth, except maybe yoga to stretch things/hypnobirthing to help mentally

Worryant · 05/03/2022 12:08

Thanks everyone! Fingers crossed, not going to get too excited until it’s darker or a digital actually says the words!

@NarnieJoy my first was average weight but I had a forceps birth. They look scary but in the moment it’s actually fine, not dismissing your worry at all as fear of birth things is totally natural but here I am going for a second after a forceps delivery! X

HeathenPlayingHouse · 05/03/2022 12:57

@Worryant Can definitely see it! Very exciting!

@NarnieJoy I think it's luck of the draw really, but I will say that the weight estimates can be very different than the true figures. DS was estimated to be nearly 10lb at my last scan at 39+3- I chose induction offered at 39+5 due to this because I have degenerative disc disease and arthritis of the pelvic joints, and was honestly panicking about being able to birth him. I ended up needing forceps because of his big ol' head, but he was born at 40+1 and still only weighed 8lb4

tryingtryinggone · 05/03/2022 13:04

@Worryant how exciting! Definitely not a squinter but also understand that you want it to be clear as day. Tentative congratulations!

NarnieJoy · 05/03/2022 13:22

Thanks everyone for your replies! I think birth although fascinating seems so variable. Just don’t know where to go for a realistic picture of birth, probably won’t know until I’m there in the room.

But then I get terrified that I won’t get pregnant and my fears are some irrational link!

OCM19 · 05/03/2022 13:26

@Worryant I can see it, it’s not even a squinted! Great for 9dpo!

OCM19 · 05/03/2022 13:26

Sorry posted too soon, tentative congratulations 🤞
