Hi @HoldingOn2Hope I definitely think you could have ovulated later. I'm my last superovulation cycle, I didn't ovulate until day 21. I'm usually day 10. They did give me trigger but I was gearing up to ovulate on my own anyway.
Did you have any signs you ovulated? I'm sorry this is happening. I hope that your appointment next week gives some clarity.

I am waiting for a bleed too, stopped estrogen and progesterone on Thursday so hoping its on its way. Will still have more waiting next cycle. Feeling really fed up.

Hope everyone else is OK xx

HoldingOn2Hope · 08/07/2022 13:34

@VenusStarr Dr Edge wouldn't give me trigger as I had 4 dominant follicles even though Dr S did give me the trigger when I had 5 (did actually get a positive on that cycle which ended in mc May 2020)

I had lots of ewcm so I knew something was happening but I should have co tinier testing but gave up. I didn't even bother taking pred or cyclogest as I thought what's the point and Dr Edge didn't prescribe me progy or advised to take aspirin which has always been recommended so I take aspirin anyway.
I had a good chat with Nurse Sophie and basically said yes you are the professionals but we know our bodies and also we pay enough to hve some kind of choice in treatment. 🤷🏻‍♀️
Dr S is away from next week...I really on a earlier post he's off to Hawaii wow! We went last month for my 40th so maybe we can exchange notes when I see him next lol
He's also away again in august for 2 weeks.
I'm fed up too. When do we just think fuk it all and give up!

InvisibleDreamer · 08/07/2022 15:19

Sorry to hear you are having a difficult time of it again @VenusStarr & @HoldingOn2Hope I’m also feeling fed up. Feel like I’ve damaged both my physical & mental health for IVF & so far it’s all been for nothing. Just paid for the PGTA testing today & scared we won’t have any normals. Feeling quite negative about it all today.

FfayeN · 08/07/2022 20:08

Hi all. I've just read this piece of research regarding Endometrisis (my biopsy came back positive), but it also mentions cytokines and NK cells being treated with Doxycycline. Well worth a read once you can get your head round the lingo and some really positive results. Just incase anyone is not on the Dr S plan or can't afford all the testing, this could be a good place to start x

VenusStarr · 09/07/2022 10:31

I'm sorry things are feeling heavy @InvisibleDreamer ❤️ it's so hard to have hope. I'm feeling pretty broken and worn down by this process.

I'm trying not to panic about the lack of withdrawal bleed but not succeeding.

That's interesting @FfayeN I've been tested twice and don't have it but the link is interesting.

Big hugs @HoldingOn2Hope we know our bodies better than anyone. That's why I've taken myself off metformin, it's slowed things down and I'm convinced it caysed the lining issue in my last cycle. I haven't told Dr S yet.

HoldingOn2Hope · 11/07/2022 13:55

Still no period and done a 2nd test and it's negative. Has this happened to anyone? A delayed cycle after taking gonal-f? I've had several cycles before but this is a first for me I've never been this late. I'm on day 34 and usually come on by day 27-29

HoldingOn2Hope · 11/07/2022 14:02

Also I asked for a prescription for hydroxy as they usually charge £40 for it, still charged me £25 to send out a prescription and I got it from asda today for £3.70.
I think it disgusting that this clinic does this, after all us women have been through to even get to this point they take the complete pee with meds. That's the thing I liked about Argc they didn't charge stupid money for meds and gave prescriptions without a admin charge so that meds can be sourced locally and didn't charge £5 for postage.
I'm just having a rant as it's really pissed me off!

Ralowi · 11/07/2022 17:31

@HoldingOn2Hope i am dreading all these prescriptions. We only had our first appointment and already I’ve been sent away with vitamins I feel I could have bought elsewhere a lot
cheaper. So definitely get where you are coming from. Another one I don’t get is that the zoom appointments are £100 more expensive. How is that even possible!

HoldingOn2Hope · 11/07/2022 20:57

@Ralowi what vitamins have they recommended? For future reference just get them yourself don't buy anything from the clinic unless you really need too. Asda don't charge vat on fertility meds so even the gonad-f injections are cheaper at asda.
We pay them enough for blood appts and scans etc it just makes me angry how they take advantage of desperate vulnerable women who just want to have a baby! I've actually thought about writing to my local MP!

Ralowi · 12/07/2022 07:58

@HoldingOn2Hope I keep wondering if in years to come we will be able to claim it back as mis sold lol. Also think when other clinics start to emerge prices will become more competitive, we are just unlucky it’s fairly recent stuff and there Is basically no choice out there. Thanks for the tip, I will remember that in future. It started off as just telling us what to take and ended in them just being added to the bill. Think because we had spent so much by that point the vitamins seemed like pennies

Stillhoping200 · 12/07/2022 22:46

Hi ladies, I’ve been following for a while. I did 5 rounds of SO and nothing. NK cells identified but no issues on partner. We both had all tests done. I have heard that some professionals in the industry are now querying the clinic and his practices due to the numbers not getting results. I keep expecting to see an article on this. I am very concerned I’ve wasted months when time isn’t on my side (40s) and my Amh has dropped since o went to the clinic too.
I’ve just done 1 round of IVF at the Lister. We got 3 to b’cyst but all failed genetic testing - another huge blow. Does anyone know anyone that has had a similar journey that could recommend a clinic having had our issues? I’m wondering if Agrc are worth switching to. I read regularly and you’re all in my thoughts, I do wish I could wave a magic wand for us all. Thank you, SH200

InvisibleDreamer · 13/07/2022 01:04

@Stillhoping200 Did your OH have DNA frag test?

Stillhoping200 · 13/07/2022 07:29

@InvisibleDreamer yes we had that and pretty much every other rest you could have done for both of us - over £3k worth including everything Dr S says to get done and which found the NKC.

Stillhoping200 · 13/07/2022 07:49

Ps I’d anyone finding their temps are staying super high in this heat? Presumable general body temp will effect these temps first thing in the morning? Thanks

Ifitistobesaid · 13/07/2022 08:19

@Stillhoping200 What have you heard about professionals querying his practices, do you mean there’s some sort of investigation? Immune testing is definitely controversial and some doctors don’t believe in it at all. My NHS recurrent miscarriage clinic were scathing of him but their advice was just bad luck try again. It makes it so difficult to know who to trust.

My BBTs seem to be ok on the whole but I usually take them in the very early hours (1-3am ish) as I tend to stir then naturally. I did one later than usual (around 4am) on Saturday when the weather was hot and it was higher than normal, so I wondered if it may have been affected by the heat, but it may have just been that I took it slightly later than usual...it was back down to my normal level the following day.

Stillhoping200 · 13/07/2022 09:41

@Ifitistobesaid ive bern told by someone in the industry that there may be an investigation. Can’t say too much as wouldnt want to badmouth the clinic but hearing that has adds to my own sceptical view having read about so many pple on here not getting anywhere. I won’t be going back as I do t trust what they are saying any more, which has made me extremely sad and frustrated. It makes you wonder if we’d have been better off on our own

VenusStarr · 13/07/2022 10:45

I'm a bit upset that you have joined the thread to say this and then not give further details about it @Stillhoping200 It feels unfair to make suggestions that something is going to happen, which could have huge implications for many of us, but you can't say what it is, when there's women like me who are trying to navigate through this as best we can and trying to trust the process when we've been badly let down by the nhs.

Who is the source that you have spoken with, who is leading the investigation (GMC, or journalist?)

I'm actually quite anxious and worried now after reading this.

Tgrf55 · 13/07/2022 11:06

I completley agree with @VenusStarr - i think its very easy to feel frustrated when you haven't had success at the clinic but you can't then say that their success rate is being questioned because of this. The clinic would have been shut down a long time ago if that were the case and i dont think you should be posting that on here when we are all trying to achieve the same goal and spending thousands in the process its very triggering.

Tgrf55 · 13/07/2022 11:15

Also just to add - @Stillhoping200 i mean this in the nicest way possible but if you havent become pregnant under Dr S plan and tried the immune treatment then how can you question it?
This is supposed to be a supportive thread and i think you are massively in the wrong upsetting people with your comments and no evidence to support it. @VenusStarr please dont waste energy becoming anxious about this.

ummidreams · 13/07/2022 11:27

I'm with @VenusStarr and @Tgrf55 on this one. I think it's unfair to drop hear say here without properly knowing the full details. Everyone on this thread are here to support one another and give hope. And that post is doing exactly the opposite. @Stillhoping200

HoldingOn2Hope · 13/07/2022 11:32

I agree it's unfair to say they may be an investigation but bit to give details...I've been seen at 3 top clinics - Dr S, Argc and Dr Gorgy and it's fair to say the treatment the offer is trial and error they try and adapt it to meet each individual patient and it doesn't always work for everyone but they try their best to help us get pregnant and sustain the pregnancy. I've had a failed pregnancy on Dr S's plans and a horrendous mc at Argc but I don't blame the clinics. I have full faith in Dr S more so than any other clinic. I just feel at times they take the pee with fees and med charges. Xx

Tgrf55 · 13/07/2022 11:48

They also cannot lie about their success rates, they would have been shut down a long time ago if that were the case. Dr S is very senior in his field i really doubt he would risk his reputation and job to make up fake results. Unfortunately sometimes a pregnancy is destined to fail due to chromosomal issues and no Dr in the world could prevent that from happening.
My friend was recently discharged from CRP after 3 unexplained miscarraiges previously. She is now over 20 weeks pregnant and she did the complex plan. So i hope that all gives you some hope.

Ralowi · 13/07/2022 13:08

Im so confused as thought dr a had an 80% success rate within 6 months, is this to say all
those women would have conceived anyway without his treatment plan? I find it hard to believe that given the number of losses people have suffered although do wonder if the number/activity of nk cells does fluctuate month to month. We managed to have our son in between 9 miscarriages without doing anything differently so it does make me
wonder. It is a risk but I guess when you want something bad enough you do feel like there’s no alternative and there are plenty of positive stories. We had our initial bloods and husband did the DNA fragmentation a week ago today. A lady I spoke to in there said the nurses emailed her some of the results within a week. Did anyone else get this? X

Ralowi · 13/07/2022 13:08

Dr s! Not sure if there is a dr a but just to avoid confusion lol
